Season of Creation Calendar Available at the

FDC Welcome Desk For those who want to enter into the Season of Creation in a deeper and daily way, our parish Green Team Ministry have made available Season of Creation calendars for you. The Season of Creation is a dedicated time, or special focus, from September 1 to October 4. Septem-ber 1 was proclaimed as the World Day of Prayer for Creation by the Orthodox Church in 1989, and many other Christian churches have joined since then, with Pope Francis and the Catholic Church most recently in 2015. It was then extended to be a month-long Season of Creation, ending on October 4—the Feast of St. Francis. The calendar contains unique activities that you can do to observe this special time of prayer and reflection.

The Catholic University of America is unique among universities in the United States - even among Catholic universities. Established by the Vatican and U.S. Bishops in 1887, it is the national university of the Catholic church. It is proud to have nearly one third of the U.S. Bishops as alumni, along with more than 12,400 living priests and religious from around the world. In Washington, D.C., the University provides an education based in Catholic intellectual tradition to nearly 7,000 students through its 12 schools - that include arts and sciences, music, engineer-ing, philosophy, social work, law, and business in addition to ecclesiastical degrees in canon law and theology. Next weekend, we will be taking up the National Collection for The Catholic University of America. Your support will enable Catholic University to expand its impact in preparing next generation of leadership for our Church and nation. We appreciate your generosity. As is our custom, we will take up only one collection.
