The Junior Cadet Program is designed to support this mission by providing 1) positive role models from MPD and the community; 2) life skills education to provide students with strategies to make healthy choices that contribute to a meaningful life; and 3) to encourage pursuit of continuing education.

Junior Cadet Program

The Junior Cadet Program is designed for children in 5th & 6th grades. The program will allow children to participate in activities that instill a sense of community pride, self-discipline and leadership ability in an overall positive environment.

Participants will experience opportunities to travel to important civic centers and to meet community leaders.

The program will also connect to parents and guardians of students to keep them informed of student progress with newsletters and a parental pledge.

The program will continue to mentor students through middle school and into high school with the emphasis of encouraging careers in public safety and or public service.
