devotedanddisgruntled.comYou might have seen our website when you foundout about this event. You might even already haveregistered, and maybe added a report at a previousevent, but there’s loads our website can do thatpeople don’t know about. This is a little user’s guideto help you make the most of this great onlineresource.
Registering & Logging on
If you’re new to the site, look at the top right cornerand click the “Sign up” button. Fill in the form andclick “Continue”, then check your email to activateyour account.Head back to the home page, and click “Login”.Once you’re registered, if you click “My Page” you’llfind your profile, which you can update, make pretty, add pics and website links etc so that people can seewho you are, and find their way to your projects.
Creating a report
Common problems:1. You click continue to register, but get an alert sayingyour password is invalid. This is usually not a passwordissue, but a problem with a space in your username. Ifyou’re going for first name -surname, take out the spacebetween them and try again.
2. You’ve registered but when you try to log in, it doesn’twork. Make sure you’ve activated the account via theconfirmation email. Then close all browser tabs which areopen on the D&D site, go back to the main home page andtry again.
Now that your account is active and you’re logged in,you can create a report. Go to the main event page forthe event you want to report on. If you’re making thereport after the event has finished, it’ll be listed in“Previous Events”. Click the title of the event, and onthe event page, you’ll see blue tabs saying “AddReport”. Click these, and.. add your report! You can include text, images and URL links to audio orvideo. You can add keywords in the “Tags” section tolink your report to any others on the site that might beon similar themes.Your report won’t save until you click “Submit”, so ifyou want to come lback ater to finish it, simply write“This report is not finished” at the top of the textsection.
Common problems:You’re limited to adding 3 images from the user end of thesite. If you want to add more, we can do that for you fromthe back-end. Just drop us a line [email protected] and we’ll be happy to help.
Editing a reportYou can get back in to edit any of your ownreports at any time. Just go to “MyPage” and clickthe title of the report you want to edit. Scroll downto the bottom of the report, and you’ll see a yellowbutton saying “Edit report”. Click this, and go for it.
Commenting on other reportsYou might want to share information, ask foramendments, or generally just keep theconversation going by adding a comment onsomeone else’s report. If you’re logged in, you’llsee the option to “Add a comment” at the bottomof every report. Just click this and fill in the text boxas required.
Identifying who was thereOnce you’re logged in, at the top of every eventpage, you’ll see a little button saying “I’ coming”.By clicking this on upcoming events, you can letpeople know you’re planning to go. You can alsodo this after the event, and you can add yourselfas a session attendee on any report as well byclicking the little circle that says “I was there”.
Downloading & sharing reportsGreat things can happen when reports get out tothe public. At the bottom of every report, and everyevent page, you'll see Twitter, Facebook and othersharing buttons, allowing you to send the URL outto your networks. At the top of every report, you'll see a "DownloadReport" button which will give you a PDF of thatreport. At the top of the main event page, you'llsee a "Download whole report" button, which willgive you a single PDF containing every reportsubmitted for that event.
