Modern and high performance DDV decanters are designed for olive oil extraction plants. We have also special design for pomace extraction and three phase extraction. DDV design is developed to ensure maximum yield and quality of oil even with high inlet flow rates. This outstanding result is ensured by optimum torque control at high centrifuge forces. The key advantages of DDV decanters are:

DDV decanters are robust and durable thanks to its material features. The bowl, conveyor, casing, inlet tube, outlets and other parts in contact with the process media are all made of stainless steel.

DESIGN

Decanter centrifuge is a separation machine which consists of a bowl, a screw conveyor located inside the bowl, a gearbox and a drive group providing the rotation of both the bowl and the conveyor and finally a solid frame which is designed to carry all these components in a compact and robust arrangement.

As the feed enters the bowl through a feed pipe, it is accelerated due to the rotation of the bowl. Centrifugal forces cause the sedimentation of the pomace on the wall of the bowl. These sediments accumulated on the bowl’s wall need to be moved towards the conical end of the bowl for further compaction and dewatering. The screw conveyor located at the center of the bowl provides this movement as it rotates in the same direction as the bowl but at a slightly different speed. Thanks to the differential speed, the screw conveyor scrapes off the accumulated solid towards the conical end.

THREE PHASE DECANTER

This technology is developed for applications requiring solid-liquid-liquid separation. Separating two liquids in a single equipment has simplified many processes. DDV three phase system decanters are designed for olive oil extraction plants and also special design for pomace extraction plants.

Separated solids are conveyed along the bowl by the scroll to the conical end of the bowl where the solids are discharged by solid outlet. Solids are pressed at the conical section and the dewatering ratio is increased.

This results in formation of a pomace with a high dry solids content is generally known as the “pomace cake”. The water separated from the dry solids is collected via adjustable outlets located at the cylindrical end of the bowl. Liquid phases (blackwater and oil) overflows through the adjustable weir plates on the liquids discharge and vent pipes, if existed and directed to the light phase discharge nozzle by passing through the casing inner surface.

EXCELLENT SEPARATIONWITH EXTENDED CLARIFICATION AREA

FLEXIBILITY

The bowl has high separation efficiency with its optimized conical design and wide clarification area.

Efficient separation is ensured regardless of the pomace quality, thanks to the high centrifuge force achieved by high and adjustable bowl speed.

Provides increased separation capacity with its spiral geometry enabling simultaneous axial and radial flow.

The best clarification results are provided as stabile due to its continuous torque control.

Thanks to the Dual Drive design and user friendly PLC interphase, DDV decanter allows its users to have a full control over the process and gives many options to adjust the decanter settings. The DDV decanter centrifuge can be adjusted for maximum performance by:

Varying the bowl speed and providing the necessary G force.

Varying the conveyor speed.

Varying the pond depth in the bowl for the best oil clarity and the least oil content in the pomace.

Specially designed conical part and centrifugal force applied on the pomace ensures high oil yield.

Loss of oil in pomace is lower than the conventional decanters.

Thanks to the adjustment of differential speed automatically by PLC without any manpower need, stable oil clarity outlet are continually provided with same quality; even at fluctuations in product inlet flow.

Besides these specifications for three phase decanters; dewatered pomace cake has noticeably less humidity compared to conventional decanters.

DUAL DRIVE

One of the critical points for the decanter is the difference between bowl and screw conveyor, namely differential speed. This speed nominates the retention time of olive paste and designating the clarity of the separated oil. Therefore, this speed is set automatically via PLC according to the required product quality and required product properties are achieved.

Dual drive motor enables the differential speed to be adjusted in a wide range. Second drive activates the inlet shaft of the transmission and introduces the differential speed as the function of the bowl speed and the transmission cycle ratio. The cycle is adjusted without requiring manpower in cases when the water and solid content of olives fluctuates significantly. The differential speed is adjusted as the function of spiral torque automatically and precisely. The system is supported by the software developed by HAUS.
