D e m o u n t a b l e F l a r e sInnovative Technologies / Worldwide Acceptence

The Callidus flare test facility is in continual usefor flare technology research and development aswell as customer witnessed demonstrations. Ourarray of test flares and flare systems allows us toclosely match actual field operating conditions, providing results which will accurately predict themeasured performance of flares installed in thefield. Callidus has the largest flare capability forflow volume testing in the world.

Our Beggs, Oklahoma testing facility features the following:

• Flare School Classroom• State-of-the-art Data Acquisition System• Excess of 600,000 lb/hr (300 mmscfd) capacity• Online noise spectrum analysis• Online radiation analysis

Our industrial scale research center is a fullyinstrumented and computerized data acquisitionbased facility. It is totally devoted to research anddevelopment of new product improvements, newcombustion processes, customer testing andproblem solving applications. Our R&D center alsoserves as a test center for regulatory agencies aswell as private clients. The test center has thecapability to fully test and provide reports on alltypes of flare configurations. Callidus’ extensive testfacility investment underscores our commitment tobeing the leader in the combustion industry.

Upgrading our manufacturing and fabricationoperation is an ongoing priority and process atCallidus Technologies in both China andOklahoma. Our Oklahoma facility occupies over 290 acres with 50,000 sq. ft. (4645 sq. m)consisting of many of the latest manufacturingtechniques and equipment. Our China facilitycontains an operating plant of 32,292 sq. ft.(3000 sq. m) with five ton cranes, machining, fabrication, painting facilities and a 5,382 sq.ft. (500 sq. m) office. As a global player in theflare market, much of our fabrication takesplace in strategic locations around the world.Proprietary items are fabricated primarily at ourU.S. facility. This “satellite” approach makesgood economic sense while insuring complianceof local standards and quality equipment oninstallations for our customers.

At Callidus, quality assurance is everyone’s job.Reviews are conducted throughout the projects toassure that we meet the needs and requirements ofour customers. Where applicable, each piece ofequipment is pre-assembled and tested to assureperformance. Machining and fabrication of criticalcomponents are accomplished in-house or bytrusted experienced suppliers. Our rigorous qualityinspection program is underscored by our ISO9002:2001 certification.

Demountable Flare• Multiple risers allow flare tip to be

maintained at grade while the flaresystem and plant remain in operation.

• Multiple risers allow for smaller plot space.• Extra space on derrick allows for the

addition of risers for future expansion.

1. Flare tip secured with cablefrom r igging platform and lifted using rigging blockand winch to provide clearancefor subsequent section.

2.Subsequent section rotatedfrom horizontal to verticalat tilting table; using cablefrom working platform andassociated winch.

3.Riser guides are inserted into guide tracks.

4.Flare tip section lowered and flanged to lower section.

1.Process repeated untilriser is fully elevated.

Demountable Flare - Lifting Sequence

Callidus Technologies has developed flares and flare systems for hydrocarbon processing, oil and gas production, steel, carbon black, petrochemical processing and chemical industries. Each of these flare systems is built to match the customer’s specific process criteria andperformance requirements. Through our engineeringexpertise, manufacturing capabilities and worldwideservice, Callidus has become a leader in flaretechnology. The Callidus team has hundreds of yearsof experience in the design of flare systems and hasbeen involved in the design, fabrication, andstartup of thousands of flare systems worldwide.

Offering a comprehensive array of flares and flaresystems, Callidus Technologies has fabricated someof the most advanced demountable flare systems inuse throughout the world. Our demountable flarefeatures a derrick with the risers mounted in sucha way as to permit the lowering of the flare burnerto grade for service. Since the stack is lowered tograde, no personnel are required to climb the stackbeyond the first riser length to perform neededmaintenance. Flare systems with multiple risersallow service to be performed on all risers and flareburners except the one flare in service. This meansflare maintenance can be performed safer withouta plant wide shutdown saving time and money.

Our manufacturing facility complies with thehighest quality standards in the industry -ISO 9001:2000. Many of our own internal qualityassurance programs require higher performancestandards than some industry certifications.

Callidus is committed to providing high qualityengineered products in the combustion industry. We focus on supplying a custom designed solutionfor every project, based on the customer’sindividual requirements.

Callidus quality assurance personnel thoroughlyinspect each flare system prior to shipment reducinginstallation time. Callidus project execution andmanufacturing are certified ISO 9001:2000.

Callidus Advantages:

• Working platform is designed with twodrawbridges for better access to connections.

• Multiple risers allow flare tip to be maintained at grade while the flare system and plant remain in operation.

• Multiple risers allow for smaller plot space.• Extra space on derrick allows for the addition

of risers for future expansion.
