    De Young Artist Fellows present works in progress andcurate special presentations in the Kimball Artist Studioas part of Friday Nights at the de Young. FAM BAMis anew documentary by Kevn Eppsthat provides a criticallook into the family structure of black Americans.     October Artst-n-Resdence, Maor weaver glenda Joyce hape

    Hapes strong passion, expressed in multiple media, draws at tention to traditional and contemporary weavingtechniques in the context of traditional Maori costume, especially as it relates to kakahu (cloaks). Hapeacknowledges the social units of marae, whnau, hap, and iwias strong informants in her thinking and inspirationfor creating artwork. For her current project, Hape is collaborating with glass artist Te Rongo Kirkwood. Thiscollaboration provides challenges of medium and draws parallels to weaving natural material.

    Every month the museum invites ar tists to install work and demonstrate their artistic process for the de YoungsArtist-in-Residence program. This interactive program enables visitors to meet artists working with variousmedia. Ar tists are on site Wedne sdaySunday, 1:005:00 p.m. (until 8:45 p.m. on Fridays through November).
