Lent Learning
Bible60
Alveley & Quatt churches are following God’s Story in 60 snapshots,
over 10 weeks including Lent.
We’d love you to join us.
Books including daily readings and great explanations are available in Alveley & Quatt churches or internet (search ‘Bible60’). Sunday themes and talks whet the appetite for the week ahead, and you’d be welcome at any of these small groups following and learning each week:
• Tuesdays 2pm at Lodge Farm Bungalow, Quatt • Tuesdays 7.30pm at 12 Daddlebrook Road, Alveley • Wednesdays 7.30pm at 18 Victoria Road, Bridgnorth • Fridays 1.30pm at 7 Greenleys Crescent, Alveley

Easter Season
Saturday 28 March Easter Family Craft Morning
10am – 12noon Suitable for all ages from toddlers to teens and including adults. Crafts and activities linked to the Easter Story. Refreshments available. Ending with a short presentation at 11.45am. Under 8s must be accompanied by a responsible adult, over 8s can be registered on the day. Alison Armstrong 780326
Thursday 2 April The Lord’s Supper 7.30pm A simple meal gathered around a large table, together remembering The Last Supper with Songs, readings, fellowship and actions. All ages are most welcome.
Friday 3 April Quiet by the Cross 7.30pm A half-hour of reflection for Good Friday, with hymns, readings, music and quiet.
Regular Events
Chapel Crafters Every second Tuesday of the month at Alveley Old Chapel. A welcoming group exploring and using new craft skills together, with refreshments, expertise, materials and a listening ear. Contact Alison Saad on 781277 or Jenny Sirrell on 780369.
Alveley Youth Group Every term-time Monday 6-7pm at Alveley Old Chapel. Contact Alison Armstrong 780326.
Small Groups as above (‘Lent Learning’), continuing from Easter until July.
QUATTRO A quarterly ladies lunch in Quatt Village Hall, with visiting speaker – each telling their own story of God in real life. All are very welcome: Contact June on 781910 and alveleychurch.org or Parish Magazine for dates. 12.30pm start.

Lent 2015
Ash Wednesday 18th February: 10.30am Holy Communion with ashing at
St Mary's Bridgnorth and 7.30pm Holy Communion with ashing at Oldbury
For the remaining Wednesday evenings in Lent we have planned evenings on the theme: “Caring for Creation: Caring for each other”. Each evening will begin with worship at 7.30pm lasting about 20
minutes and be followed by a presentation with the opportunity for questions afterwards. Each group will be explaining something about what they do, and how they feel it stems from their faith, and will also
show opportunities as to how to get involved.
The programme is:
25th February -‐ Debt Counselling at St. Mary’s Church Bridgnorth
4th March -‐ Fair Trade Bridgnorth at Aston Eyre Church
11th March -‐ Sustainable Bridgnorth at Astley Abbotts Church
18th March -‐ Youth and Schools Project at Morville Church
25th March -‐ Bridgnorth Food Bank at Tasley Church
Holy Week
Monday 30th March, Tuesday 31st March and Wednesday 1st April at 7.30pm
Night Prayer and Reflection at St Mary's Bridgnorth.

Walk of Witness to the Town Hall 10.00am from:

• St Leonard’s Hall Church, Racecourse Drive, Bridgnorth 10.45 Good Friday service outside Bridgnorth Town Hall
11.15 Hot cross buns and tea/coffee – venue TBC
12 noon to 3.00pm at St Mary’s Church Bridgnorth Three Hours at the Cross led by Revd Chris Pullin – Chancellor of Hereford Cathedral -‐ pop in at any time for as long as you like.
7.00pm at St Mary's Bridgnorth St Mary's Chamber Choir and Orchestra -‐ Music for Good Friday by Mozart, Haydn, Mendelssohn and Vivaldi. Free admission.

Claverley & Tuck Hill Host Monthly “Open Forums”
on the last Monday in the month at Claverley Church 7.30pm.
These are discussions on many wide-ranging topics. Topics can be brought to the group by anyone attending

Martin Cavender is the Director of ReSource. Alison Morgan is a well known
author and speaker. Martin and Alison work, with other members of the
ReSource team, all over the country, bringing support and encouragement to
local churches and regional groupings.
