Introduction
BS
As a market leader in the design, manufactureand installation of fitted healthcare andeducational furniture, we have extensiveknowledge and experience and have beensupplying the market since 1947.
Deanestor's manufacturing facility and offices are
integrated in a purpose built premise, based in the heart
of the East Midlands allowing us to access and service all
areas of the UK. The estimating, production scheduling,
project management and design teams are located in an
open plan office, which combined with our just in time
manufacturing method allows us to be exceptionally
flexible and provide a scope of works in accordance with
client requirements.
Deanestor is committed to delivering healthcare
excellence in every respect, from design and
manufacture to project management and installation. We
operate with purchase orders from the NHS trusts
through to multiple subcontracts under framework
agreements with main contractors under procurement
schemes such as PFI, Procure 21 and LIFT.
Our determination to supply healthcare environments in
parallel with construction requirements ensures
excellence for our clients as well as the end user. We
supply HTM63 & HTM71 furniture at Deanestor and also
manufacture education, dental, laboratory furniture,
bespoke reception counters, seating and nurse stations.
These are supplied with the same degree of expertise you
would associate with our healthcare range. In addition to
manufactured furniture we also stock and operate supply
chains for various fixtures and fittings that are required
under the N10 supply scope ‘NBS’ National Building
Specification.
As part of our ongoing diversification of supply scope and
in accordance with client requirements we have been
supplying and fixing IPS panels and full sanitary ware
packages under the N13. This avoids the coordination
issues, over lapping of supply on group 1 fittings and on
site trades which can often occur with the ADB coding of
FF&E works.
At Deanestor Plc we understand the role of Health and Safety,
not only from a construction site perspective but also for our on
site manufacturing facilities. We employ our own HS&E Manager
and every aspect of our operation has been
assessed for risks to ensure the safety of
our and your employee’s. We believe
that operational effectiveness and
good practise for Health and Safety
work are essential.
At our factory we have recently
implemented numerous changes
to our operating procedures from
our raw material off load to finish
good loading. As well as pedestrian
areas and demarcation lines we have
also implemented a programme of NVQ
training for our operatives.
From a site perspective Deanestor considers every aspect of
Health and Safety. Each Project Manager is CITB SMSTS and
IOSH trained. Our Site Managers are all either CITB SMTS or
IOSH trained and we have also adopted a recognised training
programme so they are able to administer First Aid. Our entire
on site operatives are a minimum CSCS qualified.
Our mandatory PPE for all operatives is Safety Helmet,
Boots, Vest and Glasses. Our team is also provided with
a range of gloves to suit each application, these are
mandatory.

Deanestor is committed to the use of sustainablematerials as part of the worktop and cupboardconstruction, ensuring that we not only meetproject objectives such as programme and costbut also reduce the impact of ouroperations on the environment.
All of Deanestor’s hard wood productscan be supplied with an FSC or PEFCcertification. Hardwood products areordinarily utilised by Deanestor onbespoke items such as reception desks, nurse stations and bench seating. All ofthe particle and fibreboard supplied byDeanestor is FSC certified.
As part of our commitment to theenvironment we are undertaking a programme to reduceour carbon footprint. The most affective way to reduce thisis to introduce a waste burner to provide heating to ourfactory however this also prevents the need for landfill.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
2
At Deanestor we have long understood theprimary considerations for storagefurniture in a healthcare environment itmust be robust, durable, functional, ergonomic and also free from infectioncontrol issues.
To enable us to meet the increasinglystringent infection control measuresDeanestor have adopted a continuousimprovement policy on its furniture. Whetherthis is in material selection, construction orancillary products as we can be flexible withour manufacturing due to our facilities wecan adopt the same with our global sourcingability.
In addition to the above measuresDeanestor have a commitment to sourcing afull anti-bacterial range. We are able to offeran extensive range of anti-bacterial laminate, with our 10 stock colours supplied anti-bacterial as a standard option. This laminateis from the Resopal Hipercare range whichhas been tested to European StandardEN438 and to ISO 4586 to prevent and isendorsed by the spread of bacteria, mostnotably the MRSA bacteria.
In addition to thelaminate all of ourmetal hardwareincluding handlesand hinges can besupplied with a BioCotecoating. This coating is a universallyrecognised and has been tested by anindependent laboratory to show it’s ability toinhibit the growth of bacteria, mould andfungi by up to 99.9% over a 24 hour period.
In addition to the above ancillary items suchas cantilever support legs are supplied withanti-bacterial polyester powder coatings asstandard and the same applies to our shelfbrackets and uprights.
Due to Deanestor’s parametricmanufacturing techniques integral corbelscan be provided which prevents thesandwiched panels affect which occurs whenend panels are screwed to the side of thecarcase to close off the service voids. Thesecannot be easily cleaned and are unsightly.
In addition to the above Deanestor are alsoable to manufacturer their base and wallunits with limited shelf locations so that areall internal surfaces are also wipeable.
INFECTION CONTROL
Clinical Issuesinfection control and lifecycles
As part of Deanestor’s ongoingcommitment to quality we able tooffer life cycles from 12 years up to25 years and guarantees from 1 ofup to 10 years. As Deanestor offersa diverse product range and materialselection each aspect of this mustbe considered to achieve the longestcycles and guarantees. We would bepleased to assist you in thespecification of our products toachieve this.
Operating for over 50 yearsDeanestor regularly undertakesrefurbishment projects to replace it’sown furniture. We believe that withincreased input at the specificationstage and with appropriate designconsiderations our units could be re-furbished in situe with onlyreplacement worktops necessary.

The purpose of HTM63 when fully compliantis to provide suspended base units. Thisallows a clearance to the underside of theunit to facilitate a full and wet cleaningregime. These units are supported fromcantilever legs which are supported from thewall which ensures there are no fixingpenetrations through the floor
Deanestor have made incremental changesto standard HTM63 guide lines, one of thefirst changes was the supply of internalhinges – exposed hinges have recessedwhich cannot be cleaned. Other notableimprovements have been supplying amelamine wrapped wall fixing batten for theworktop support and ensuring all exposedsurfaces, seen or not are sealed with eitherlaminate or PVC edging. Our most recentinnovation has been a continuous plinth toavoid butting joints however to maintain thequality of installation this is still surfacemounted onto our box plinth.
The surface materials and constructionrequirements for HTM63 can all be met byDeanestor. The fully laminate carcass witha glued and dowelled construction attractsthe longest life cycles and warranty periods.

PD55
All of Deanestor units are pre-assembled and quality inspectedat our factory. The construction method for these is fullycompliant with HTM63, a glued and dowelled constructionwhich provides the durability required for Healthcare furniture.
Deanestor offer the PD55 worktop as standard, this is thesame profile as HTM63 however it does not provide the 15mmdown stand. There are several reasons for this, firstly the costis reduced, secondly the worktop finishes flush with thecabinet/ frontal and appears neater and thirdly as we are ableto adjust either the plinth or cabinet height this 15mm packerpiece is not necessary to achieve a 920mm working height.
As standard the PD55 type profile worktop will be priced witha BS type base unit. This provides a working height of 905mm.As standard Deanestor offer a variable plinth height to achievea 920mm working height a 115mm plinth height.
The BV base unit has been introduced so that the unit can bebetween 750 – 800mm high. This is so that a 100mm plinthwhich is often the skirting and coving height of vinyl flooringcan be maintain with any working height. This unit is atadditional cost as Deanestor is unable to achieve the samematerial optimisation with a base unit increased in height from850mm.
At Deanestor we appreciate that the success of Healthcareinterior is dependent equally on finishes and co-ordination. Weare prepared to work with the end user, architect, contract andother trade contractors to ensure every aspect of the FF&Epackage is co-ordinated to deliver a successful project.
Deanestor can manufacture fully HTM compliant furniturehowever due to the costs associated with this the generalminor deviations below are accepted.

The following derogations are often also agreed with the client.
Plinth mounting, our plinths are moisture resistant mediumdensity fibreboard with a standard black, grey or whitemelamine facing. High pressure decorative laminate can beprovided at additional cost.
Concealed hinge, our hinges are a Blum 170° opening clip typewith 3 dimensional adjustment. These are provided with a 25year warrantee.

The purpose of HTM71 is to provide modularstorage however HTM71 units can besupplied open with liners for storage traysand baskets or with doors. The liners with thetrays or baskets allow instruments anddressing etc to be stored in an accessibleand organised manor which facilitates stockmanagement. In general HTM71 canincrease the volume of storage available withthe same footprint of HTM63.
Deanestor have made incremental changesto standard HTM71 guide lines. Theseinclude supplying all shelves 18mm thick asstandard. In addition to this all of our frontalsare still supplied manufactured from mediumdensity fibreboard with a high pressure ordecorative laminate facing. One advantageto the Deanestor HTM71 system is that thethey can be retro fitted into any of ourstandard base or wall cabinets, this offer thearchitect, client and the end user theflexibility to ensure that the units are laid putin a fully functional manner.
The surface materials and constructionrequirements for HTM71 can all be met byDeanestor and a full range is offeredincluding Pharmacy units.

This more substantialprofile is offered preferred from an aesthetics perspective. When this worktop does not span across base units and issupported by cantilever legs it also conceals any fixings unlikea 20mm profile.
As standard the PK20 worktop will be priced with BT baseachieving a working height of 920mm. Alternatively a BS unitswith 85mm plinth and PK40 can be provided to match ourstandard HTM63 working height of 905mm The PK40mmarrangement with a BV is available with nominal additional costto the base unit.

One of the main issues for Healthcare projects now is thediffering clinical requirements. With primary care healthcentres, poly clinics and even acute hospitals the building oftenincorporate clinical areas, office areas, staff rest and patientwaiting.
With the various HTM’s, manufacturers recommendations andindividual preferences it can be difficult to integrate all this intoa single cohesive specification. At Deanestor we havedeveloped a range of worktop profiles and storage units whichcan be used for clinical and non clinical areas with the sameworking heights, patressing requirements and fixing details. This enables all co-ordinating aspects throughout the buildingto be standardised, from window cill and trunking heights to thespace planning for appliances.
Each of our for 40mm profiles has been designed to be fit forthe intended areas of use and to reflect up to date designrequirements. These are explained below. Please note with thisarrangement any sanitary ware adjoining our worktopsincluding HTM63 and HTM64 sit on sinks, slop hoppers ordisposal units may also be required with 40mm profiles and atnon standard depths. Deanestor offer a co-ordinating range asstandard.
