Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy offers training on the contractual basis in the following subjects: Russian, Chemistry and Biology for further admission in KSMA and other higher educational institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic. The duration of study is 9 months. For entering to Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens have to be submitted:1. Original document of secondary education, equivalent to the state document on the general intermediate (complete) degree awarded in the Kyrgyz Republic;2. Translation of original document with notification;3. Passport with appropriate entry visa;4. Medical certificate of health status, form 086;5. 10 photos, sized 3x4 cm.Upon completion of Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens attendants will obtain a certificate of standard pattern if he/she fulfills curriculum and programs in full volume and will be recommended for the admission to the faculties of I.K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy.Faculties:1. The Faculty of General Medicine.It was established in 1939 and trains physicians in the specialty General Medicine. At present there are more than 1700 students are studying at the faculty. The duration of study is 6 years. Education is in Russian.2. The Faculty of Pediatrics.It exists since 1956. Graduates of the faculty will be awarded the qualification of physician in the specialty Pediatrics. The duration of study is 6 years. Education is in Russian.3. The Faculty of Pharmacy.It was established on the basis of Pharmaceutical faculty opened since 1981. It trains pharmaceutists in the specialty Pharmacy. The duration of the study is 5 years. Education is in Russian.4. The Faculty of Stomatology.It was opened in 1960. Upon completion of the faculty will be awarded the qualification of physician in the specialty Stomatology. The duration of study is 5 years. Education is in Russian.5. The Faculty of Public Health.It was opened in 1998. It trains physicians in the specialty Medico-preventive work to work for Public Health system. The duration of study is 5 years. Education is in Russian.6. The Faculty of Higher Nursing Education.It exists since 1998. It trains specialists in nursing in the specialty Nursing Manager. Lecturer. The duration of the study is 5 years, on the basis of medical college education 4 years. Education is in Russian.7. Faculty for Foreign Citizens.It was established on the basis of Department for the General Medicine with English Language that was opened in 2001. Graduates of the Faculty obtain the qualification of physician in the specialty General Medicine. Education is instructed in English by the integrated system. The duration of study is 6 years.8. The Faculty of Post-diploma Medical Education (Residency).Citizens of other countries from far abroad, CIS countries and Kyrgyzstan are studying in clinical post-diploma studies. The duration is 2-3 years. Teaching is in Russian and a number of specialties are in English.9. Doctorate study (PhD).Graduates of the higher medical educational institutions after passage of post-diploma training can enter postgraduate doctoral studies. Training is only in Russian, full-time study is 3 years and in part-time study is 4 years on budgetary and contractual bases.List of documents for admission to faculties:1. The document of the education, equivalent to the state document on the general intermediate (complete) degree or professional intermediate degree awarded in the Kyrgyz Republic. Those who apply to the Faculty Post-diploma Medical Education original diploma on higher medical education;2. The reference from Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic on equivalency of full secondary and intermediate education;3. The passport with the corresponding entry visa;4. 10 photos, the size 3x4 cm;5. Have no serious health problems, which has to be officially confirmed by medical references for higher educational institution;6. The certificate on studies of Russian language for those who wants to get admission in faculties with Russian language of studies.Entry exams:1. Foreign citizens who enter to the first year of study at the Faculty for foreign citizens take oral entry exams (in English) in the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry and English.2. Foreign citizens with good Russian and who has graduated Russian language courses enter to the faculties with Russian language studies and take entry exams in Chemistry, Biology and Russian.Tuition fee for 2010-2011 academic years:1. Preparatory department for foreign citizens - 43 300 soms;2. General medicine -Faculty for foreign citizens with English language of studies - 110 200;3. Other faculties are all with Russian language of studies - 78 100 soms;4. Residency and Doctorate study (PhD) - 78 100 soms.5. Hostel fee is 1013 soms per month.
