2010 CoverGirl Classic Gym Club Fact Sheet

What: The 2010 CoverGirl Classic is the final qualifying event for the 2010 Visa Championships, which is USA Gymnastics’ national championship scheduled for Aug. 10-14 in Hartford, Conn. The CoverGirl Classic has two levels of competition: the International Division, with elite junior and senior competition; and the Challenge Division, for up-and-coming gymnasts.

When: July 24, elite junior and senior women; Challenge Division, July 23 and 25, 2010

Where: UIC Pavilion on the University of Illinois – Chicago

Who: The elite junior and senior women’s field (International Division) features both top women gymnasts vying for berths to the Visa Championships and those who have already qualified that are using the CoverGirl Classic as preparation for the Visa Championships. The Challenge Division is for young,

up-and-coming gymnasts.

Tickets: Tickets are available in three price level increments on ticketmaster.com Public all-day tickets, which include admission to both the elite are $30, $40, or $50. An all-session ticket package which provides access to both the elite and Challenge competition sessions ranges from $45-$75. Single session tickets for the Challenge will also be available. Discounted tickets may be purchased through gym clubs participating in the Gym Club Ticket Sales program. See the enclosed materials for more ticket information. History: Formerly known as the U.S. Classic, the CoverGirl Classic is known for having a highly competitive field featuring many top gymnasts. Last year’s event featured 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist Nastia Liukin and 2008 Olympic Team Silver Medalist Samantha Peszek, alongside three U.S. 2009 World Championship medalists. Other past competitors and champions of this event include:

MARKETING PACKET This packet includes the following materials and opportunities for

implementation:

1. Incentive Outline

This page is an outline of benefits you can qualify for based on the number of tickets

your club sells during the program. All incentives will be distributed at the end of the

program based on the level reached.

2. Ticket Procedures Page

A step-by-step outline on placing ticket orders easily.

3. Gym Club Order Form

The Gym Club Order Form can be used to place both individual and group ticket orders

for the CoverGirl Classic. See the “Ticket Procedures Page” for specific instructions.

Please make sure your gym club’s name is on the order form correctly when orders are

sent in. This ensures that your club receives credit for the ticket sale. If your gym club

information is not located on the form, affix a label with your gym name and phone

number to the form. Make copies of the order form and distribute to everyone who

comes into your gym.

4. Arena Seating Map

The seating map allows you to show the priority ticket locations that your club is selling.

5. Posters (Promotional posters available on request)

• Display the posters in high traffic areas including community events, area stores, schools, competitions, recreation centers, the lobby area in your gym,

etc. to get people talking about the 2010 CoverGirl Classic.

• Personalize the poster with your club information by printing labels with your gym club’s name, phone number, address and web site.

Promotional Idea:

Use posters as a giveaway within your program (i.e. purchase tickets this week and be

entered in a weekly drawing for a poster).

Ticket Order Procedures 1. Use the enclosed Gym Club Order Form to purchase tickets for the 2010 CoverGirl Classic.

Only the Gym Club Order Form may be used when placing an order in order to receive incentives. Be sure your gym club’s name is on the order form; this ensures that your gym club will receive credit for the sale.

2. Pass out the Gym Club Order Form. You or the person purchasing the tickets may fill-out the

form. The person’s information purchasing the tickets is placed in the contact name and address area of the form, not the gym club. This is the address where the tickets will be shipped.
