Dear Parent/Carer,

I cannot believe we are heading into the last week of term. Although it has felt like Winter, the Spring term has been a great learning opportunity for our children. “The Time Machine” has certainly enabled us to develop the skills across all areas of learning, and we are looking forward to showing off our work to you all on Tuesday when we have our Museum day. We do hope you can attend, we will kick off with an Easter Bonnet Parade at 1.30. (Although we should have planned for an Easter Bobble Hat Parade with this cold snap). Please feel free to join in the fun by dressing up yourself.

Can I use this opportunity to thank you all once again for supporting us with our events. Without your support we would not be able to offer the pupils the curriculum we do. We have planned our mystery trip for the Summer Term, and cannot wait to launch our new topic. We look forward to seeing you all after Easter, so please have a wonderful holiday and enjoy the break.

“Easter Celebrations and Museum Day” – Tuesday March 27 th We will be holding an Easter Eggstravaganza Day and Class Museums for everyone on this day. Our Easter Bonnet Parade and Gallery Event will take place from 1.30pm. Craft work will be displayed in the hall. Classroom will be museums following this and you will be able to see pupils’ work, displays and learn about their time in history.

The PTA will be providing refreshments. Please can you donate cakes for the cake stall, and let us know if you can help. All parents and members of the community are welcome to attend. Hopefully the sun will be shining and we can make use of outdoors too. Easter hampers will be put together for the raffle. Please could you donate to your class hamper in the colours below:-Mrs Marchant – Pink Mrs Joseph – Yellow Mrs Jones – Purple Mr Goremano – Green Mr Dowsett - White The children will be asked to enter any or all of the following categories. All entries will receive a certificate.

All pupils will be showing off their work in their class museums. (We ask that hot drinks are not carried around the school). No doubt our little entrepreneurs will try and sell you some refreshments.

National Tests – Year 2 to Year 6 This year’s statutory tests will take place between Wednesday 2 May and Wednesday 9 May 2018. Please endeavor to ensure that your child is present during this time. If you have planned appointments for this time, please contact the school immediately as we have now finalised the timetable for the tests.

Wed 2nd May – Reading Thurs 3rd May –Numeracy Procedural Friday 4th May – Numeracy Reasoning Monday 7th to Wednesday 9th will be used for any absent pupils.

WE Day Water DayHaving taken Year 5/6 to London for 'WE Day' and listened to the various inspirational speakers that they introduce throughout the day, we have decided to commit our next project for the WE Charity to be 'WE Walk For Water'. This is the WE focus at the moment, so as a school we plan to support them on this journey and make this our next project for them. It will also link nicely with our next topic...We will therefore be taking part in the We Walk For Water event, which takes place globally on Friday April the 27th. Due to our strong community links we also intend to combine this event this year with Lawrence's Roundabout Well Appeal walk and celebrate and raise money for the two charities at the same time. As we approach the date we will release more information, but for now it's a date to note down in the diary... Diolch, Year 5/6
