Thank you for downloading Riviera Tuition’s 11+ assessment. Please let your

child complete this without any adult help.

Let’s fill you in on what the 11+ exam in Torbay consists of…

There are two CEM papers and one 30 minute writing paper. Our assessment

test allows your child to have a look at what is expected of them.

The CEM papers test verbal and numerical ability with the following types of

questions:

✓ Cloze passages ✓ Vocabulary questions (synonyms, antonyms, jumbled sentences,

two words joined together and odd words out) ✓ Multiple choice comprehensions ✓ Numerical reasoning ✓ Logical reasoning ✓ Non-verbal reasoning

The writing paper could ask the children to write a fiction or non-fiction piece that will test their ability to consider an audience and write creatively with purpose.
