Dear Parents/Carers
Firstly, thank you to those of you who are continuing to keep your children at home. This
has allowed us to prioritise places in school for those children who really need it and limit
contacts for children and staff. The Government has shifted their approach to schools and as
I identified in my latest letter to you, they are stating that if you can keep your children at
home, you should. I know that this means some of your children will be in school some days
and at home others, but this helps to keep us all safer.
I wanted to update you on our local data . We now have the highest infection rates in
London and our local hospital is full to bursting. We would ask all parents for children using
onsite provision to get a weekly lateral flow test and send your results into school so we
can avoid any further infections in school. If your child has had Covid 19 then you will not be
able to have a test and so follow the medical advice you have been given. Below you will
find our local test centres.
You can book your rapid test at:
● Hounslow House
● Heston Library
● Wellington Day Centre
● Isleworth Library
We are in an increasing dangerous situation and we want to keep our children, families and
staff safe from this virus. Please, share any changes to attendance with the school office
either by phone or email.
We would really appreciate any adjustment in your use of school.
Remote learning
I want to start by saying a huge thank you and well done to you all. We have been
absolutely blown away by the level of support that we have seen from you parents . You are
doing the most amazing job at ensuring that your children are joining in with their remote
learning. Almost every child in the school is joining in, in one way or another. We appreciate
that it is not easy, and that at times your children will need a lot of support and
encouragement. However, thank you for persevering. I really feel that educating your
children is a real team effort especially at the moment.
I would like to thank all of the parents who have emailed in with feedback. Below are some
samples of the kind of messages that we have been receiving. These messages are
appreciated so much by the teaching staff and they give them little boosts throughout the
week.
I just wanted to say thank you to Mrs Siddall and the team in school teaching the key worker
children. My child has come home overflowing with all of the things she has been doing in
school. She is loving the fairy tale topic.
Such a beautiful day today, my child was able to see her teachers and friends on Zoom.
Her expression was priceless!!!
She made a ‘get well soon card’ for LRRHood' grandma and painted it rainbow and heart
shapes. Her writing skills are improved but still needs help writing "d" and "a" which I will
be focusing on tomorrow. Perhaps the paint idea is great in this regard. She watched her
phonics and maths video lessons and practised the relevant activities. I was so impressed
when she asked "mummy can I have paper and pencil to write while watching the phonics
video, and she did write the words. Apart from reading a book on "Activelearn" she also
read another book available at home. She played with playdoh and tried to teach her little
brother as well. Role-playing was a very interesting part of the game. It was challenging
for me to convince her that wolves are not always bad because she believes wolves are
scary. So tomorrow we will try to involve her in wolf mask making.
Just wanted to say that this morning was such a relief for me...…...the new set up with the
live lessons are fantastic. I was dreading home-schooling last night!!! Having a set timetable
and my son knowing that he has set times to be logged on is great, rather than just sitting
for a couple of hours working. Hopefully this lock down home-schooling won’t be as bad and
stressful as last time!!
It was lovely hearing him getting involved in the questions today during English.
Thanks again you guys are doing a great job!!!
My son loves all of the activities the teachers have been putting on Seesaw and gets
excited when he hears feedback from his teacher. He loves that he is able to send a voice
message and hear his teacher’s voice too. I appreciate what the teachers are doing as it is
keeping my son occupied and he is now able to access everything by himself and upload
his own work and pictures.
Thank you for all you are doing in English. Your lessons are great and your style really engages the kids
Miss Holmes, Mr Enright and Ms Desai have been brilliant...…it's so nice to hear my son
contributing to lessons and answering questions.
It's really lovely to see my child interacting with his class and teacher every day on google
classroom and working as a group discussing the work
Thank you so much for my son's opportunity to talk to you Miss Kochilas and friends. He was
really happy. He had such a smile when he saw his teacher and afterwards he asked to do
the drawing for the teachers.
I think the year 4 teachers deserve a medal. They explain what the layout of the day is and
they make the instructions very clear and they still get children turn their Microphone on
and say “Miss Mott what are we doing?“ Or “Miss Mott what lesson is this?”( at the end
of the lesson!). They must say hundred times a day ‘Can you turn your mics off please.’ It
is quite entertaining to listen to, but must be very frustrating for them. They are very
patient and are always there for them if they have a problem.
I think it is working very well, and appreciate all of their hard work.
Mrs Colenso
Yesterday was Mrs Colenso’s last day. We wish her all the best and thank her for all the support she has given our children, parents and staff over the last four years. She will be truly missed.
Nursery Applications
Food Banks and Vouchers
We appreciate that recent times have brought real financial challenges for some of our
families. There are food banks in our local community that are there to support families in
times of hardship. We can help to signpost parents to these and make referrals for you if
necessary. However, we recognise that sometimes this can take a bit of time, and
sometimes families in very difficult situations cannot wait. We continue to run a Foodbank
in school with food mostly donated by staff. If you know anyone who is struggling, please
encourage them to get into contact. We understand that some people will feel very
uncomfortable asking for help. We promise to help you as discreetly as possible. Contact
the school office on 02088907472.

As we can’t be in school to celebrate birthdays I would like to wish all the children who are
celebrating their birthday at home this week.

We wanted to share some of our wonderful home learning
This is just a sample of some of the amazing learning happening each day.
Nursery
Yuvinu - After listening to the Hickory Dickory Dock nursery rhyme, he has made a mouse by
cutting out different shapes
Tianna - She has been practising forming numbers on paper
Peter - He has been practising writing his name
Robin Class:
This week in reception, we have been learning about Little Red Riding Hood and capacity.
I would like to thank Ava. Mr Lundy, set a challenge for the children to try and make a ball of
playdough float. Ava tried finding different ways to make it work and eventually it did. I
would like to thank her for her persistence and fantastic creative thinking. Well done!
I would also like to thank Jack for his efforts with all his home learning. He has been trying
so hard and I am so proud of him. I especially liked seeing his picture of Little Red Riding
hood. Amazing work Jack!
Sparrow Class:
It has been great seeing Reggie's work on Tapestry. I especially liked the cakes he made. He
said they are the cakes Little Red Riding Hood was bringing to Grandma!
Elijah has sent in lots of work and I really liked the missing poster that he made to help find
The Gingerbread Man.
Wren Class
I would like to say a big well done to Aleena for all her hard work. She has been practising
her phonics everyday and we can see the result in her writing from the card she wrote for
Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother. Keep up the good work!
I would also like to celebrate Lily's work. This week Lily shared an additional activity she did
home. She played a counting game with money. Lily managed to count numbers by using
1p, 2p and 5p coins. Well done Lily! You're doing a great job!
Peacock Class: Lisa - For always trying her best everyday and following instructions very carefully. She created
an amazing Pokemon drawing and conducted a fabulous science experiment.
Zachary - Despite missing his friends very much Zach still logs into Seesaw everyday with an
amazing, positive attitude towards learning. He tries his best with every activity that he
completes.
Mohammed - Although we are yet to welcome Mohammed into our classroom in school, he has
made an amazing start in virtual Peacock Class and is already proving he is a very hard worker
and always tries his best on Seesaw! We are very lucky to have him as a part of our class.
Nightingale Class
Well done to Adam for trying to log in everyday and posting lovely video responses to the
activities set. He has been commenting on a lot of his peers' work with voice notes saying
wow, well done, I like your work, your work is lovely. Thank you for being so kind Adam!
Viktoria M has put a big smile on my face as she responds to all my voice notes with a voice
note. We have had conversations about how her and her family are, what she is getting up
to and what she finds easy and difficult on Seesaw. She also tries her best to complete every
single task and usually records videos of herself completing the tasks, singing and dancing
which is lovely for Nightingale class to see. Well done Viktoria!
Swallow Class:
Ariana, Jack and Nevaeh. They have all been engaged in home learning in very creative ways
and I am very proud of all the work they have completed. I have attached some work from
each of them.
Swan Class:
Aneesa and Arthur for always giving the tasks on Seesaw a go and doing their best.
Kingfisher Class:
Kiara - I am so impressed with how hard Kiara has been working at home this week. She has
been logging in every day and completing all the activities independently. I am especially
impressed with her artwork in the style of Andy Goldworthy. Keep up the amazing work
Kiara!
Ayana - Ayana makes sure she completes every piece of work to her best ability. She works
carefully and is able to spot and correct her mistakes. I am especially impressed with her
amazing writing in literacy. Keep up the great work Ayana!
Seagull Class:
Shourya and Sameer. They always try their best and listen to my feedback, they make an
effort to go back and correct any errors and ask me if they are unsure. We have really good
communication and they are both on seesaw everyday!

Year 4:
As I stepped out of the dumbwaiter, I was blinded by a single beam of burning, bright light coming from a single small window. Moving into the shadows I noticed the rest of the room seemed dim and dismal. I began to feel around the narrow walls, the ceiling was sunken and disintegrating. Eventually, I stumbled upon an old-fashioned, worn armchair. As I perched on the edge, the harsh brittle material scratched at my skin. A musky scent lurked in the air as if time had stood still in this room for many years. Quietly, I glanced to the left and I could see a thick layer of dust covering an antique shelf that was teeming with books. Books filled to the brim with knowledge and wisdom.
Jimmy Langridge Year 4 Eagle
We have been reading The Spiderwick Chronicles, and this lesson was focusing on expanded
noun phrases. Jimmy wrote this wonderful setting description. It was when the character of
Jared found the secret room.
