As part of the natural rhythms of life, the Universe includes frequent periods for renewal, relaxation, rejuvenation and planning. When we fail to observe these cosmic Time-Outsand continue to push ahead, we.re rewarded with nothing for our efforts. I personallyobserved millions of dollars lost from ill-timed decisions during these periods in one company alone. Especially during times of financial upheaval, we can't afford to make such timing mistakes.

There are other important cycles for catching up and correcting our mistakes, successful promotions and high growth. What is The Good Timing Guide?A Divine Plan? Why use good timing? Because days are not created equal! Unbeknownst to most of us, there are larger cycles and energy patterns that underlie each day’s potential - the Universe’s plan! While we’d laugh at someone planting a garden in the middle of a cold winter, there are far less obvious cycles that are just as important to successfully con-ducting your business. This Guide is your key to understanding what time it really is and using these natural cycles to your advantage. It covers the daily changes while the newsletter subscription provides major business and economic trends.

After observing astrological patterns and cycles while working in outside sales and industrial marketing for over 17 years, I finally realized there really is “a time for every purpose under heaven.” This includes our business activities! Knowing what time it real-ly is can make all the difference in the success or failure of our plans and schedules.

How Do Cycles Impact My Business or Work? It’s important to know when to take significant actions and when to wait. When I worked in industry and watched these cycles, I saw millions of dollars wasted in just one com-pany each year when we made critical decisions during cosmic Time-Out periods. We literally had to scrap all our efforts and remake those decisions. We didn’t realize we were missing or misunderstanding vital information during those periods, but we could have known just by observing that cycle. I finally realized that billions of dollars, if not trillions, are wasted every year by businesses not observing them.

Quite a few different cycles are always occurring simultaneously. You can get better business results by choosing good dates to introduce new products or services, place ads, pay for trade shows, mail promotional materials, hire employees, sign contracts, launch websites, purchase equipment, travel, and much more.

How The Good Timing Guide Helps You The Good Timing Guide’s easy color codes show five basic cycles useful in business. The most important are the Moon cycles indicated by the Final Result code. These show what lies ahead at the finish line. There are cycles for communications, catching up and correcting our mistakes (Mercury cycles or Communications), successful promo-tions, and high growth (Venus and Jupiter cycles or Green $). Still other cycles are con-cerned with new beginnings, such as product introductions and promotions (Sun and Mars cycles or Activities). Relationship and contract cycles impact many businesses too (Venus and Saturn cycles or Contracts). These patterns impact all of us daily, although your personal cycles may override your experience of what’s shown in the Guide.

The Good Timing Guide is one of many tools that allow you to partner with and work in harmony with the Universe. However, the influences charted in this Guide are just a few of the many factors contributing to your success.

102

When You Need More Than This GuideEven the very best days in the Guide have bad financial times. When you want to hit a homerun, instead of getting to first base, that’s when you need a custom timing. Any time you have the potential to earn or invest a lot of money, that’s when you’ll benefit the most from a custom timing.

How to Interpret a Date (for New Starts)

FOR NEW STARTS, MAJOR PURCHASES, AND CONTRACTS: (See page 10 for days when you’re not starting something new, signing a contract or making an important purchase. Also see What is a New Start? on page 8)

Look at the Final Result code, the color of the top line (Finish Line Flag). Check for Time-Out periods, shown by red hourglasses (see page 36). Check the color of the rest of the codes.

Here’s how to interpret some possible dates:

The Final Result is green, and most of the other codes are green: Go for it! This is your ideal date to start anything new or sign a contract (see page 43).

The Final Result is green, but most of the other codes are yellow: This date shows a new start or contract filled with obstacles, resistance, and challenges, yet when all is said and done, everything works out well in the end.

The Final Result is green, and there’s a blue code: Watch for mistakes in assumptions, schedules, etc., at the start. Something critical may be overlooked, but if you fix it you’ll get a good outcome eventually.

The Final Result is green, and some codes below are red:This is not a good period for new starts if you can avoid it. Anticipate obstacles and delays before you finally get the good final result.

The Final Result is yellow or orange, and some codes below are red: Forget starting anything new or signing a contract on a day like this. After lots of obstacles, the results are challenging, disappointing, or possibly a complete failure.

The Final Result is yellow, and most of the other codes are green: This date indicates the project or contract begins smoothly, but the final results are disappointing or challenging.

The Final Result is yellow or orange, and there’s a blue code: You’re missing something important here, and your project will not yield positive results. Slow down and go back to the drawing board!

The Final Result is red, and the other codes are green and yellow: Forget it! Stall for a better date or time. Don’t start anything new during a Time-Out.

The Final Result is orange, and most of the other codes are green: Something is falling out of the deal or project and it won’t come together. Choose a better date to start or sign.

How to Interpret a Date (for General Business)

FOR CONDUCTING DAILY BUSINESS: Not for new starts, major purchases, or signing contracts. (See page 9 for new starts, major purchases, and contracts.)

Pay attention to the Time-Outs. Check the lower three code lines (Running Man, Telephone, and Handshake

lines). In general, you can ignore the top Final Result code.

Here are a few possibilities:

The codes are mostly green, and there is no Time-Out:This is a day when there is little or no resistance, few or no obstacles, and things tend to flow well. However, there’s also less dynamic energy in a day like this, so if you like lots of action and the challenges that go with it, you’ll prefer mostly yellow dates.

The codes are mostly yellow, and there is no Time-Out:This is a day filled with crises, obstacles, challenges, or resistance. While this may seem difficult, much of our business culture thrives on these days, as they’re also filled with action. If you like adrenaline rushes, you’ll enjoy these days. If you would rather have an easier time, then you’ll prefer mostly green dates.

The codes are mostly green, but there’s a long Time-Out: This is a very pleasant day, but there’s no energy to push forward. If you try to make decisions or purchases, or implement a new start during the Time-Out, you’ll meet with severe obstacles later, until nothing comes of it. Instead, gather information, brainstorm, research, review, write, clean, or finish tasks. Don’t make important decisions or purchases, or implement new plans! You’re missing critical information.

The codes are mostly red:These are periods to slow down, rethink or redo projects, and anticipate delays. You’ll find these periods to be much more useful and productive if you schedule 50% or less of your time than you normally do. That way you’ll have time for the unexpected crises that arise. Depending on which lines are red, there can be communication difficulties, computer failures, or transportation delays. Or it may be time to rethink finances, prices, values, partnerships, strategic plans, new products, or manufacturing. See the individual line codes for details.

There’s a Time-Out and a Green $: You could start a promotion before or after the Time-Out. There could be slow sales during the Time-Out though. Never start a promotion or do a major mailing during a Time-Out.

Time-Out and Restart TIME-OUT (Red Hourglass on its side) Even if all other codes are green, Time-Outs always take priority.Don’t take important actions or make decisions during these times. Time-Outs begin at the time shown next to the red hourglass and end at the time shown next to the upright hourglass (i.e., Restart). Essentially, nothing positive comes of actions, decisions, or purchases during these periods. When we try to push forward during these times, we’re either missing or misunderstanding critical information. We are led down dead-end paths that waste our time and resources.

The Wall Street Journal reported that research on 1,400 randomly selected, bankrupt companies showed that 100% of them were started during Time-Outs! This is not the time to do any of the following: make important decisions, sign contracts or important papers, start anything, open a business, interview or hire, invest or make purchase decisions, start a business trip, make presentations, start a promotion, or introduce new products or services.

Time-Outs are intended as gestation and renewal periods. They’re best used for regrouping, developing or reviewing ideas, research, gathering information, finishing things, or brainstorming. They’re also great times to mail taxes to prevent audits, catch up on paperwork, and clean the office. Actions and decisions taken during Time-Outs usually result in nothing positive coming to fruition, and/or unexpected difficulties (e.g., the Watergate break-in). So, don’t take important actions during these times!

Time-Outs are based on periods when the Moon is no longer making major aspects (including declinations) to the other planets, until it enters the next sign. Basically, the Moon is “resting” and the Universe expects us to do the same. Technically these periods are known as void-of-course Moons. They last from a few minutes to nearly two days, and occur, on average, three times per week. Occasionally, the Moon makes an aspect known as a parallel or contraparallel (of declination) after its last major longitudinal aspect. Research has shown that these are times when the Moon is NOT void. When these occur, you’ll see a Green Light appear and the Final Result color will change.

Using Time-Outs and Restart for scheduling your time is the single biggest productivity enhancer you can use. Millions, if not billions, of dollars are wasted every year by trying to push forward during Time-Out periods. To improve your success rate for anything, be sure to observe these periods.

RESTART (Upright Hourglass)Time to restart business as usual! Restart begins at the times shown next to the upright hourglass. It is time to push forward, make progress, make decisions, and take action. Refer to the other

indicators for the day’s cycles. A new Final Result code, indicated by hourglass color, begins at each Restart time and is associated with a new Moon sign. Occasionally, the Final Result changes before the next Restart. See the Green, Yellow and Orange Light paragraph on page 37.

36

The Final Result Date code is based on the last major aspect the Moon makes to any other planet before leaving a sign (including declinations,

for those who know astrology). Experience and research show that this is a reliable indicator of the final outcome for contracts signed and anything new started. (See page 8 for What is a New Start?) The Final Result code pertains to the most common work hours, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM of the indicated time zone. If you work between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM or travel long distances, monitor the Time-Out and Restart indicators. The Final Result code will stay the same through the night, unless there is a Time-Out, during which the Final Result will be RED. If a Restart time occurs in the night, the Final Result is shown by the color of the hourglass.

GREEN Final Result: Good Shows that the final outcome of what’s started or signed will be GOOD or positive. The other color codes for the day show the ease or difficulty of the project started

or the contract signed. See page 9 for How to Interpret a Date.

YELLOW Final Result: Challenging Shows the final outcome of the project started or contract signed will be

CHALLENGING, DISAPPOINTING, or FAILS TO MEET EXPECTATIONS. If the other codes for the day are primarily yellow or red, you’ll be required to meet

challenges and overcome obstacles, only to have the project or contract end in disappointment. If the other color codes are primarily green, then it will be easy to get through the project or negotiations, but the final result will still be disappointing.

ORANGE Final Result: Falling Out Something you expect to happen is not coming together. Commonly someone

changes his or her mind or a deal falls through. After this is over, the Final Result will change to a Green or Yellow Light.

RED Final Result: Fruitless Shows that nothing will come of the project started, contract signed, or actions

taken during that time. Red Final Result periods are Time-Outs. See page 36 for more details.

GREEN, YELLOW or ORANGE LIGHT: Final Result Changes Sometimes situations occur in which something falls out of a deal, project, or negotiation; or someone changes directions. Whenever these occur, the Final Result will be ORANGE until this is over. AFTER the falling out, the Final Result can change to GREEN or YELLOW. A Green or Yellow Light indicates one of these periods is over and any new starts after the time shown next to the Green Light will have either a GOOD Final Result (with a Green Light) or a CHALLENGING Final Result (with a Yellow Light). Occasionally, a falling out ends after a Time-Out, and then is followed by a Green Light from a declination aspect (see next paragraph). When this occurs, you’ll see an ORANGE LIGHT after the Time-Out, before it changes to a GREEN LIGHT.

Occasionally, the Moon makes another aspect by declination (parallel or contraparallel) after its last major aspect. You’ll see a Time-Out, followed by a Green Light (GOOD Final Result) when this aspect comes within range.

Moon PhasesTHE FOUR MAJOR MOON PHASESThe four phases of the Moon have been used for centuries as a timer for major events, andas a guide to strategic actions. Each phase lasts one week, so it’s easy to observe your ownenergies and actions in relation to each of them.

New Moon:Unconsciously we tend to start things around the time of the New Moon, or usually

within a few days after it. There’s enough support at these times to allow new “seeds” andideas to take root and start “sprouting.” This is true for all the projects we start at or just afterthe New Moons. Often there isn’t time or support to start something new until the New Mooncomes around. In general, it’s best to start projects and sign contracts between the Newand Full Moons, while the Moon is gaining in light. There’s more energy available to takeaction and make things happen. However, if the project you are starting is to distribute a prod-uct, or to disseminate knowledge or services, then doing so between the Full Moon and thebeginning of the Last Quarter Moon is also an excellent time.

First Quarter Moon: This is known to be a time of “crisis in actions.” Whatever you start at the New Moon

will receive a major challenge during this time. This is the time to push through any obstaclesthat arise and not give up! You’ll notice that these days of the month are often filled withcrises, major issues, and obstacles. There’s plenty of dynamic energy available though tohelp push through the crisis. Use it for taking ACTION to overcome the challenges being pre-sented, instead of thinking or planning.

Full Moon:At this time, situations come to light or fruition. This is either wonderful when good

things are highlighted, or distressing when major problems are spotlighted. Major decisionstend to get made within a few days of the Full Moon, and any issues brewing usually come toa head at this time. If you’re in sales, call customers with pending sales decisions a few daysbefore the Full Moon and you’ll likely close the deal. Likewise if you’re a manager, expectdecisions to get made around the time of the Full Moon and plan your strategies accordingly. If you’re planning a product introduction, a good time to do this is immediately before, during,or after the Full Moon, IF there is also a GREEN Final Result and no red code lines. A prod-uct introduced then would come before the public faster and be seen by many people.

Last Quarter Moon:This is a period to wrap things up. We may have a “crisis in consciousness,” and real-

ize something we should do differently next time. This is the time to finish things up, clean upand withdraw from the fray. We begin reformulating our ideas and plant “seeds” for what wewant to start next and how to do it better. This is the time to rethink and plan, BUT NOTSTART ANYTHING. New projects will start at the next New Moon, when the entire cyclerepeats itself.

New Starts, Activities, Marketing, ManufacturingThe codes for this group are primarily based on the daily conditions

for the planet Mars (ruler of Aries) and the Sun (exalted in Aries),which reflect what’s occurring in the areas of new starts, product introductions, marketing activities, manufacturing, operations, and leadership. See page 40 forRed Activities, when Mars is retrograde.GREEN ACTIVITIES: These are good or neutral times for:• New beginnings, new projects, new product introductions• Manufacturing and operations activities• Marketing/sales meetings and activities, competitions, and physical activities• Pioneering, leadership, innovation, and general forward progress• Vacations with lots of outdoor or physical activitiesAll types of sales actions and marketing activities are favored, with no major obstaclesand few or no minor issues. Green Activities days normally do not force us to takeaction. Instead, the more harmonious energies of these days bring opportunities thatmay or may not manifest. Generally, in order to take advantage of the opportunitiesavailable on these days, we must initiate action. Occasionally we are presented witha positive situation from others. More often, if we do not consciously use these periodsto create positive situations, we lose valuable opportunities.Although rare, any Green Activities day can be a neutral time when no deterrentsexist, but no help is available either. If you have a critical new start or major event, seeyour business astrologer for a good date and time. You need more than a neutral dayoffers.YELLOW ACTIVITIES: In general, there is plenty of dynamic energy available tomake things happen, but it’s challenging. Watch for any of the following issues in activi-ties, new beginnings, new projects, product introductions, manufacturing, operations orcontracts signed:• Complications, power or control issues• Motivational issues, lack of direction or desire to move forward• Deceptive actions or confusion related to what actions to take• Sudden upsets, unexpected or explosive actions and accidents• Restrictions or serious frustration due to limitations• Attempting to accomplish too much without enough resources or time• Rash or aggressive speech and behavior, or emotional upsets• In manufacturing or transportation situations, difficulties with engine failures,

mechanical or thermal processes, soldering, or welding operations are more likely.Be prepared to deal with any of these issues, and anticipate resistance or crises.During Yellow Activities days, we’re forced to take action and handle issues.See page 40 for Red Activities.

Page 11: Dear Reader, About the Author Y - Polaris Business Guides€¦ · LLC, originally Astro Cycles Consulting in 1995. SERVICES Madeline offers consultations for individuals and businesses,

Red Activities and New StartsWhen the line for new starts and activities is red, Mars is retrograde or appears to be moving backwards. This occurs for approximately ten to twelve weeks out of every two years. During Mars retrograde, business

activity generally declines and it’s very difficult to get new projects started. Stock prices can also go down during this period due to a company’s inappropriate direction orgoals. This year's Mars retrograde is from JSeptember 9, 2020–November 13, 2020. The next one will be October 30, 2022–January 12, 2023.

TIME FOR STRATEGIC PLANNINGThe purpose of this period is to re-strategize our directions, goals, strategicplans, motives, and desires to ensure we’re on the correct path for the next two years. While this biennial 10- to 12-week cycle seems inconvenient, when used appropriately, it can save you or your company from losing big money. It often occurs just as companies are about to make major mistakes in their directions, goals, or new products.

Angry disputes often erupt during this period. One party usually wants to push forward on the same path regardless of the results, and the other wants to reconsider and adjust the course. Continuing on the same path generally involves overcoming a major roadblock or ignoring warning signs for a course correction. Failing to make the necessary changes may lead to serious loss or bankruptcy.

EXCELLENT TIME FOR MARKET RESEARCH OR TESTINGMars retrograde is a great time to do market research, test or trial marketing, and to beta test new products or services. This is an ideal time to determine how to make a new product/service or promotion more successful before introduction.

However, introducing new products or services during this time is like launching battleships to go to war without ammunitions and weapons—very unsuccessful! Actual sales for products or services introduced can be as low as 15% of the forecast. They're usually not received well by customers (who aren’t ready for anything new either!) and they often have one or more of these issues:• The product or service is not ready for the market or vice versa. • The promotion doesn’t create enough desire for the product, so sales are well below expectations. • There are mechanical or quality-related issues with the product.

MECHANICAL AND QUALITY FAILURESSerious mechanical failures on products, engines, and computer hard drives can occur during Red Activities periods. Manufacturing processes that involve heat such as soldering, welding, plastics molding, or mechanical processes can all encounter difficulties as well. Thorough retesting and redesigning for mechanical or heat-related problems is often needed. Boeing once introduced a new jet to a group of VIPs during one of these periods and the plane experienced mechanical failures, releasing the oxygen masks during their flight. They brought the VIPs back three weeks later for another flight, still during Mars retrograde. The same thing happened again. It’s best not to introduce new products during this period. 40 41

Communications, Travel, and Computers The codes for this group are based on the daily conditions for the planet Mercury, which represents what’s occurring with communications, schedules, computers, electronic equipment,

appointments, classes, printing, publishing, writing, retail sales, plus all forms of transportation and travel.

GREEN COMMUNICATIONS: These are good or neutral times for: All types of internal and customer communications, and sales presentations Teaching classes, workshops, training others, or printing anything for the first time Important meetings, appointments, and interviewing prospective employees Signing contracts and negotiations (also see the Contracts handshake code on

page 43) Transporting goods, people, mail, or yourself to distant or local places Buying, installing, and maintaining computer hardware and software, or

purchasing, leasing, or fixing cars

YELLOW COMMUNICATIONS: You may encounter any of the following difficulties with communications, transportation, computers, or schedules: Misunderstandings, confusion, lack of clarity, or deceit Aggressive or impulsive communications and decisions Unrealistic expectations or overlooked details and logistics Demanding or severe criticism Power or control manipulations, obsessive thinking, or being stuck in the past Sudden changes in thinking or rash decisions Computers or electronic equipment may malfunction Transportation or traffic problems may cause delays

BLUE COMMUNICATIONS: Beware! If you’re madly trying to outrun the Red Communications period, you’re already too late. Mercury is now in the area it’s going to retrace during Red Communications, so you can’t outrun it now. You’ll be “blue” if you try! During this period mistakes happen that aren’t discovered until the Red Communications period. Some of them are major and can lead to very major losses. Overlooked details, wrong assumptions, and errors occur mainly from trying to do too much, too fast. Don’t rush or assume things. The best you can do now is to double-check all details to prevent mistakes and catastrophes.

If you’re trying to sign a contract before Red Communications, look for a date with a Green (GOOD) Final Result code and a Green Contracts code. Then double-check all the fine points with a lawyer, or another third party, before you sign and pray for the best.

Beware of car, computer, or software purchases! You may overlook a critical system or compatibility issue. Use this time to research purchases and repairs instead. You’re likely to get a better deal after the Red period is over and you’ll be clearer about your needs.

Contracts, Legal, and Negotiations The codes for this group are based on the daily conditions of

Venus (ruler of Libra) and Saturn (exalted in Libra), whichsymbolize finances, credit, product or service pricing, business relationships, contracts, legal issues, and relationship responsibilities.GREEN CONTRACTS: These are good or neutral times for:• Signing contracts, negotiating (also see Communications code), and working with

suppliers on new contracts• Pursuing legal issues, including arbitration or court hearings• Pursuing new business partnerships and any type of business deals• Relationships and negotiations go well, and responsibilities are clearly defined.• Financial arrangements are favorable and available. Seek loans, credit, or

financing. The BEST contract signing dates require BOTH the Communications and theContracts codes to be green and a GOOD Final Result (Green) date. If you can’tfind the perfect contract signing date in the time frame you need, use the “two out ofthree ain’t bad” rule. First priority must be given to a GOOD (Green) Final Result datecode. Then choose a date with a Green Contracts code. You’ll work through the YellowCommunications code, which is usually related to inaccurate details on the contractitself, as long as you have a Green Final Result. If you can’t find a Green Contractscode, there’s a very good reason for not signing one. Contact your astrologer forassistance.YELLOW CONTRACTS: The following types of issues could occur with any type ofrelationship, contract, legal issue, business deal, or finances:• Power or control issues, especially with structuring deals or negotiations• Vagueness, confusion, or deceit in a relationship or contract• Aggression or abuse, or difficulty obtaining what you want• Severe frustration, restrictions, or limitations in deals, relationships, or credit needs• Overpayment, too much credit, or spending too freely• Sudden or unexpected financial changes• Issues between the public and employees, or public acceptance of products• New product introductions under Yellow Contracts periods may result in price

objections or customer rejection. In general, anticipate challenges and seek alternatives.DOUBLE RED CONTRACTS & RED COMMUNICATIONS:When both the Contracts and Communications lines are red, Mercury isretrograde (moving backwards). See page 42 for Red Communications, and yourparticular type of work under the Recommended Job Practices section (in the Table OfContents on pages 3-4) for more information. See page 44 for Red Contractsinformation, when ONLY the Contracts line is red.

43

Red Communications During Red Communications, when both the Contracts and

Communications lines are red, Mercury is retrograde or appearsto be moving backwards from the perspective of Earth. These periods occur threetimes per year, every year, for three to three and one-half weeks. After the red periodis over, it still takes two more weeks to get schedules back to “normal,” correctmistakes, get issues resolved, and move forward again. Anticipate delays until then! The purpose of these periods is to learn, correct our mistakes or wrong assumptions, rethink, redo, and in general, catch up with everything that fell through the cracks duringthe last ninety days. Since we don’t learn while we’re on fast forward, this is when ourmistakes come to light and we’re forced to backtrack and fix them. Plus, whatever didn’tget done before and fell through the cracks must get done now. Scheduling less than50% of your time prevents frustration and helps handle the unexpected crises. These periods are prone to the following types of events:• Communication difficulties, including telephones, e-mail, and fax problems, as well

as personal miscommunications• Transportation delays, including very slow traffic; car breakdowns; delays of flights;

and shipping delays, due to weather, strikes (like UPS), or security breakdowns• Computer problems, including viruses and serious computer crashes• Contract or legal issues, including misunderstandings about the terms• Schedule delays and appointments missed or rescheduled• It’s a bad time to buy cars, buy or install computers or software, or anything elec-

tronic. Research your options instead. This is not the time to sign contracts! Use Red Communications toresearch the contract with lawyers or other parties for any changes that may be need-ed. Contracts may encounter any or all of the following issues:• Misunderstandings and misinterpretations of the terms• Errors in the written contract details• Regretting the contract later because your needs have changed, you understand

your needs better, or you could have gotten a better deal.Projects are delayed during Red Communications: (also see page 60)• Some aspect of your project needs to be redone or reworked during this time.• The team probably made a wrong assumption earlier that now needs to be recon-

sidered with the resulting changes implemented.• These red flags are a blessing, to assist your project in becoming more successful.• Anticipate the group’s progress to be no more than 50% of normal. For travel issues during these periods, see page 75.For computer breakdown issues and preventive maintenance during these peri-ods, see page 54.

Red Contracts, Negotiations, and LegalWhen Venus is retrograde, or appears to be moving backwards from the perspective of the Earth, ONLY the Contracts line is red. Venus is retrograde during 2020 between May 13–June 25. At other times, when

BOTH the Communications and Contracts lines are red, Mercury is retrograde. See page 41 for Red Communications issues, including contract signing issues. The following information is for the Red Contracts period, May 13–June 25, 2020.

In business, Venus represents assets and credit, pricing of products or services, purchasing, a company’s contract negotiations, and the ability to partner or create business alliances. It also represents how well customers accept new products and services, loans, debt levels, and company values. All of these areas need to be reconsidered or reworked during Red Contracts periods.

PRODUCT INTRODUCTIONSProducts or services introduced during Red Contracts periods are much less likely to be accepted by customers. Generally, customers question the value of the product or service, and may not purchase it due to price or quality issues. It's better to fi x or research these issues instead during this period.

FINANCINGFinancing for new projects or companies may not be available or may cost more at this time. Assets may also be revalued downward. Taking on new debt should be avoided during this period, since fi nances usually need to be reconsidered. However, this is often a good time to refi nance existing loans and may result in better fi nances when you do so.

PARTNERSHIP OR BUSINESS ALLIANCESPartnerships, supplier relations, and major business alliances—especially strained ones —often need to be reevaluated during this period. This is usually the time when diffi cult partnerships or vendor relationships are terminated or else set straight. Renegotiating a more suitable contract for both parties is favored when Venus is retrograde and can make the partnership work.

LEGAL AND PURCHASING CONTRACTSLegal and purchasing contracts signed under this cycle can have unpleasant consequences, such as inadequate performance issues or fi nancial diffi culties. Contract negotiations can also be diffi cult, as relationships may be under stress or there may be fi nancial issues that are tough to resolve. Legal issues are best resolved through arbitration, mediation, or settling lawsuits. Don’t initiate new lawsuits during this period. Only old issues being retried are favored for court. You could also fi le a suit to rehear a past issue.

NEW COMPANY STARTSThis is an unfavorable time to start or buy a new company, since the company’s assets may be less than adequate. It’s also not a good time to purchase rights to a product or buy a division of another company. The buyer may pay too much under this situation, but it’s not likely to be discovered until it’s too late and the deal is closed. Or there may be major disputes regarding the price and then the negotiations fall apart. It’s best to wait and do further research on the situation during this period.

44 45

Green $: Promotions and Donations

$ or $+: Green $ days offer good ($) or excellent ($+) financial opportunities and/or growth. They’re based on specific positive conditions for the planets Venus and Jupiter, which reflect good financial and growth conditions. They can also be very positive days for relationships and social events.

When the Green $ symbol appears, this means the day is especially good for making money from sales promotions, investing, or signing contracts with growth potential. People more readily spend or donate their money on these dates, and growth or finan-cial opportunities are available.

These are better-than-average dates for: Retail sales promotions Kicking off product introductions Sales incentive programs Major sales presentations or trade show events Requesting donations or volunteer help

Remember that you are just as likely to make purchases and give up your money on these days too! If you’re using these days to generate revenue, watch out that you don’t overspend your profits!

CHECK OTHER INDICATORSBe sure to check for interference from other code factors: Don’t start a retail sale or any promotion during a Time-Out. It won’t be suc-

cessful. Customers often don’t show up, or buy once there. Consider the Final Result code for the starting promotion date of a sales event.

The best promotion dates combine a GOOD Final Result with a Green $, and there is no Time-Out or only a short one. (Items sold during Time-Outs are often returned.)

Avoid sales events during a Red Communications period, or expect a high percentage of customers to miss the event. Mail your promotional material well before the Red Communications period to prevent mistakes and ensure your litera-ture is received in a timely way.

SOCIAL EVENTS AND VACATIONSGreen $ days are also those lovely days when people feel good and happy. So they’re especially favorable for all types of social events, such as company parties, or celebra-tions for achieving goals, etc.

All Green $ days are also appropriate for fun and vacationing, as well as spending money. When a Green $ day occurs during a long or all-day Time-Out, it’s a good time to take the day off and just enjoy yourself. If that’s not possible, schedule something easygoing that you enjoy doing.

Eclipses tor 2020

GENERAL ECLIPSE INFOEclipses are periods of major changes or events, and the issues they bring up can last at least 3-6 months for a lunar eclipse or up to a year or longer for a solar eclipse. An eclipse event can occur as early as 30 days prior to the actual eclipse or as late as 30 days after the eclipse, and occasionally earlier or later. Whether they affect you or your company significantly depends entirely upon your personal or company chart.

No two eclipses are the same. Each one has different potentials based on the duration, its Saros series pattern, the aspects of the planets, and the Sabian symbol associated with its degree. Some eclipses indicate good events, while others show severe challenges and changes. Solar eclipses are associated with new beginnings, and lunar eclipses are associated with completions or endings.

It's best not to start something new within a week of an eclipse, as the outcome is iffy, even if the Final Result Code is Green.

To determine if a particular eclipse will impact you strongly, check your personal or company chart, or ask your astrologer to do this for you. If you have a planet or sensitive point within 2-3 degrees (+ or -) of the eclipse degree, or opposite the eclipse degree, then the eclipse will have a substantial impact. For example, there’s a Lunar Eclipse on 10 January 2020 at 20 degrees 00 minutes Cancer. If you have any planets, angles, or sensitive points between 17 – 22 degrees Capricorn, or between 17 – 22 degrees of Cancer, then the eclipse will be on or opposite those points, signaling a major issue or event for you. This is especially significant if it’s within one degree.

The following are the specific meanings of the eclipses occurring in 2019. These meanings will be further modified by the aspects of that day, plus the location and aspects of the eclipse in your chart. Additional information is provided in the Good Timing Newsletter and email updates.

Administrative and Accounting PositionsADMINISTRATIVE OR ASSISTANT POSITIONSYour position is primarily related to the Communications code. If you schedule meetingsand coordinate events, take messages, send e-mails, ship or mail items, write or typeletters, and in general, communicate with others, these functions are all related to theCommunications code. Follow these guidelines:• In general, your functions work better with the Green Communications code.

However, some people find stress helps them get a lot more done. If the latter casedescribes you, watch how well you work with the Yellow Communications code.Determine what days are best for you and plan your big jobs accordingly.

• When the Blue Communications period begins, start slowing down and double-checking all details and decisions. You can prevent serious, costly errors this way.

• Do a complete computer system backup at least two days before the RedCommunications periods start. Then backup your projects, database, or financialsoftware at least hourly once Red Communications starts.

• The Red Communications period is the perfect time to catch up with paperwork thatdidn’t get done previously and get errors corrected. Consider it your friend.

• Schedules need to change during Red Communications, so be flexible and happy toassist with these changes.

• Plan ahead and don’t print new manuals, literature, or other things during the RedCommunications period. Use these periods for reprinting anything. See page 65.

• See page 59 for promotional mailings and page 53 for advertising strategies.ACCOUNTING Your work is primarily related to the Communications code if you’re tracking details, suchas expenses, taxes, payments, bank statements, etc. Also see page 66 if you’reself-employed for Professional Services information. Follow these guidelines:• In general, Green Communications days are better for accuracy, but you may prefer

the added challenges of the Yellow Communications days. Watch to see what worksbest for you and schedule your big jobs accordingly.

• When the Blue Communications period begins, mistakes get made. Slowing downand catching them will save you time later, during the Red Communications period.

• At least two days prior to the start of Red Communications, do a complete computersystem backup. Then backup your financial software or projects at least hourly dur-ing Red Communications.

• Although many mistakes can show up during the Red Communications period, con-sider this time your friend. This is your chance to correct errors and catch up, both ofwhich are vital in your work.

• Mail taxes during a Time-Out to prevent audits, but be sure to do this only if thetaxes are legitimate. Get a return receipt from the Post Office too, ensuring delivery.

• If you’re opening a new bank account, pick a date when both the Communicationscode and the Final Result code are green.

esAdvertising Services and Strategies ADVERTISING SERVICESIf you create advertising campaigns for companies, then good timing for starting andreleasing them can make the difference between highly successful and mediocre ones.Follow these guidelines:

1. Choose the best starting date for signing the contract or retainer asyou can possibly find.

• You must find a date with a GOOD Final Result code, and preferably aGreen Contracts code too.

• A Green Communications code will provide good communicationsbetween you and the company, if available. If you know issues will becoming up, accept some yellow codes and work through them to achievethe GOOD final results.

2. Choose the campaign release date first. • Find the best available date closest to the time frame for the introduction

and schedule the rest of the work based on that release date.• A good campaign release date must have at least a GOOD Final Result

code and a Green Activities code. The most ideal date has all greencodes and a Green $. See pages 62-63 for more details aboutproduct/service introductions.

3. Never start or release any campaign under a Time-Out period. It will be“the job from hell,” and you’ll probably lose money on it. Likewise, never hand offor release a campaign to the client during a Time-Out, as your client will either beunhappy with the campaign materials and/or its results.

ADVERTISING STRATEGIESThe Final Results of an ad, trade show, or directory listing are based on the cycles forthe date and time you pay for the ad or trade show.• Choose the best date possible, especially for multiple or long-term ads like directo-

ry listings.• Ensure that you have at least a GOOD Final Result code. A Green Activities and/or

a Green Communications code is very desirable, and a Green $ is also ideal.• If you’re mailing or shipping the payment for an ad, then it’s based on the date and

time you ship or mail it.• Never mail or pay for ads during a Time-Out.• Avoid paying for ads during Red Communications periods, which are filled with

delays. Your customers may delay buying too, if they even see the ad or attend thetrade show.

• Plan ahead and put the payment for the ad or trade show on your calendar. Avoidgetting caught by deadlines on bad days!

• Check out dates for potential trade shows in the Guide first. A trade show thatstarts during a Time-Out or has long ones, is not successful and usually is verypoorly attended. During Red Communications, there are also fewer attendees.

esCreative Activities and JobsPERFORMANCE ARTSCreative performances are tied to both the Activities and Communications codes. Alltypes of performances, including acting, dancing, etc., flow easier with these guidelines:• The Activities and Communications codes need to be Green for best results.• A Yellow Activities code indicates dynamic energy and tension. Some people per-

form better on these dates. Observe which dates feel the best for you.• The Activities code is related to physical activities, physical energy, and motiva-

tions. When it’s Red, you need more physical workouts to prevent buildup ofintense physical energies, and to release anger.

• The Communications code is related to movement, as well as speaking. When it’sRed, performances require more concentration to prevent mistakes.

• During Red Communications you may experience problems with:1. Microphones or sound systems, so have backups available2. Travelling to your performance location, so leave early

• Schedule the first performance of a NEW show on a day with a GOOD FinalResult and a Green Activities code. A Green $ Day and other Green codes are aplus!

• ANNOUNCE the performance for the FIRST time on a day with a GOOD FinalResult and a Green Communications code. Other Green codes are a plus!

CREATIVE ARTSIf you paint, photograph, sculpt, do graphical or industrial design work, create websites,or do other types of creative artworks, follow these guidelines:• Watch the Contracts and Communications codes for your daily work.• Start new projects on dates with a GOOD Final Result and a Green Contracts

code.• A Green Contracts code indicates a day when it’s easier to create and harmonize

the form, structure, beauty, and functionality of your design.• A Green Communications code indicates it’s easier to communicate your ideas,

expression, or intention through your creative design.• Yellow Contracts codes or Yellow Communications codes indicate challenges and

include dynamic tensions that are useful for the creative process. Observe yourperformance on these dates to determine how they best assist your creativity.

• Red Contracts (only the handshake line is red) indicates a period when you’reeither rethinking your artworks, such as how to present the values of your artworkmore clearly, or actually redoing parts of them. You may also rethink the pricing foryour artworks during this time. Avoid starting a new artwork during these periods.

• A Red Communications period (both the telephone and the handshake lines arered) is the ideal time to fix mistakes, rework details, or make changes to your cre-ations. Make frequent daily backups on your computer to prevent loss of work.

WRITING AND SPEAKING• See page 67 for Publishing and Writing. See page 73 for Speaking and Teaching.

55

Computer Services and Equipment The primary codes to watch for computer services and equipment are theCommunications line, the Final Result code, and Time-Outs.COMPUTER SERVICESIf you work in Computer Services, use this Guide to prevent major computer downtimeby scheduling preventive maintenances and new installations at favorable times.• For major software or hardware installations, the best days are Green

Communications days with a GOOD Final Result code.• Avoid installations during Time-Outs, as there can be major difficulties or backup

failures associated with them.• Schedule as much preventive maintenance as possible prior to the Blue and Red

Communications periods, when electronic equipment often breaks down.• Encourage complete system backups by all computer users prior to Red

Communications periods and frequent or hourly backups during the period.• Avoid software or computer installations during Red Communications.Computer and electronic equipment failures are extremely common during Blue andRed Communications periods and some of them are major catastrophes. If possible, don’t make any changes to working systems at all! See below for more details.Red Communications periods also have heavier computer loads than normal, leading tobreakdowns. The power outage that put many western states in the dark during 1996occurred from a severe computer overload during one of these periods. Expect highercomputer usage and failures during these periods!PURCHASING COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWAREINSTALLING SOFTWAREIf you use, purchase, or install computer equipment, follow these guidelines:• Avoid computer and software purchases and installations during Red and

Blue Communications periods. • Computer and software products installed during Red Communications periods

often have significant failure rates, or extremely tough installations with seriouscompatibility problems. For example, America Online was off-line for eighteenhours when they loaded new software during Red Communications.

• Use the Blue and Red Communications periods to research your hardware andsoftware options. After this period is over, you’re likely to find a system or softwarepackage that better meets your needs and possibly even at a lower cost.

• If you’re planning to upgrade your computer systems or software, wait at least twoweeks after the Red Communications period is over (when Mercury is out ofthe area it retraced and moving at normal speed), before proceeding. You won’tfully rethink and finalize your plans until then anyway.

esFinances, Investments, and Taxes FINANCIAL DECISIONS The primary codes to watch for financial decisions are the Contracts line, the Green $,the Final Result code, and Time-Outs. Follow these guidelines:• Long-term financial decisions are best made on days when the Contracts code is

green, combined with a GOOD Final Result code. Green $ days add additionalgrowth or revenue.

• Never make important financial decisions during a Time-Out period. You aremissing or misunderstanding critical information and you could sustain a large loss. This includes decisions about new products and strategic directions, as well asfinancial and investment strategies.

• Stability and responsible financial decisions are favored when the Contracts codeis green. Details and logistics are well considered and the long-term financialsituation is favorable.

• When the Contracts line is yellow, obstacles or challenging factors are involved. However, these could be overcome, if the Final Result code is GOOD (Green).

• When the Final Result code is yellow or CHALLENGING, the outcome fails to meetexpectations or is very difficult.

• If you can’t find a day with all the Green elements within your time frame, choose aYellow Contracts day with a GOOD Final Result and a Green $. Then monitor itclosely.

INVESTMENTS • The best short-term investment times combine a Green $ with a GOOD Final

Result code, and no Time-Out. (If there is only a short Time-Out, work around it.)• When the Contracts code is also green, long-term investments are favorable.• If the Contracts code is yellow, dynamic changes to the investment may occur, and

it’s best to monitor it closely.• Avoid investing during Time-Outs! Investments made during Time-Outs usually

don’t reach their forecasted potential and disappointment is generally associatedwith them. In fact, you may even lose money by investing during these periods.

• If you sell stocks, do your customers and yourself a favor by waiting until after theTime-Out is over before placing their buy orders.

TAXES The best periods to mail your taxes are during the longest Time-Outs you canfind, as this helps prevent tax audits. (Nothing comes of them.)• However, do NOT use this strategy if you are cheating on your taxes! You’re more

likely to get caught!• To prevent the IRS from saying they didn’t receive your tax return, purchase a

return receipt that confirms delivery from the Post Office when you mail the return.

56

Health Care ServicesIf you’re a health care provider, the most critical codes to watch are the Time-Outs, theMoon phases and eclipses, plus the Communications line. See page 66 for new clientscheduling tips and other Professional Services information.SCHEDULING PATIENT APPOINTMENTS and TESTSTime-Out Dos and Don’ts• Don’t schedule new patient appointments during a Time-Out if you can

avoid it. The patient may not arrive, may fail to follow treatment plans, and/or youcannot determine what, if anything, is wrong with the person’s health.

• Tests scheduled during Time-Outs may fail to show what is wrong, may bedone incorrectly, or the results may be lost, misfiled, or misplaced. You, or anotherhealth care provider, may also misinterpret the results.

• If possible, have your staff schedule important patient test appointments during aperiod without a Time-Out and on a date with a GOOD Final Result code.

• Whenever possible, do not diagnose patients during Time-Out periods. You are missing critical information during Time-Outs, and if you make a diagnosis,it’s likely to be wrong. You may start the patient on a treatment unrelated to theactual condition and/or cause them harm. It’s possible that there really is nothingseriously wrong with the patient. However, you’re unlikely to know whether that’sactually the case, or whether you missed or misunderstood something critical. Usecaution during Time-Outs.

• When you see patients during Time-Outs about potentially serious illnesses, havethem come back again during a GOOD Final Result time before determining thediagnosis. Or suggest they get a second opinion.

SCHEDULING PATIENT SURGERIES• If at all possible, avoid doing surgeries around the Full Moon and all lunar

and solar eclipses. Research shows that more bleeding occurs with surgeriesdone within 2 - 3 days (+ or -) of a Full Moon than surgeries done at other times ofthe month. Also avoid surgeries when the Moon is in the sign of Scorpio().

• Whenever possible, never operate on the part of the body associated withthe current Moon sign. Note the Moon signs next to the Restart times and seeyour local astrologer for details regarding these correlations.

• During Red Activities, surgery is riskier and alternative treatment methodsshould be explored instead. Surgery is NOT favored UNLESS a patient’s surgery isbeing REDONE. Otherwise, surgery should only be undertaken on an emergencybasis during Red Activities periods.

• Miscommunications and mistakes occur more often during Red Communicationsperiods, so avoid these times for operations whenever possible.

• The best surgery dates have a GOOD Final Result code, a Green Activities code, and a Green Communications code.

esLegal Services and StrategiesIf you’re a lawyer, paralegal, or work in Legal Services, pay special attention to thecodes shown in this Guide for the following situations:• Don’t initiate legal actions during Time-Out periods. Nothing comes of it!• The date and time a legal action is last under your control (usually filed in court or

mailed in a P.O. box) determines when it’s initiated. When you initiate a legalaction during a Time-Out, even if you “win” the case, the judge may arbitrarilyaward a small sum of money or nothing at all. In criminal cases, guilty defendantsare more likely to be found not guilty or get off on technicalities.

• Avoid initiating lawsuits or legal actions during Red Contracts, RedCommunications, or Red Activities periods UNLESS a case is being retried. The outcome of legal actions initiated during these periods is highly questionableand often negative.

• Lawsuits initiated during Red Activities backfire and the initiator ends upworse off. Instead use this period to reconsider the motivations, desires, andstrategies of the parties in a case. Research will fill the time and yield the bestresults.

• During Red Communications periods, misunderstandings and miscommunicationscan lead to cases based on false information or assumptions— the “house ofcards” cases that don’t stand up in court. Instead of initiating legal actions, usethese days to reconsider the best course, discover missing and critical information, and find out what false or erroneous assumptions have been made.

• Legal actions initiated during Red Contracts periods often have disappointing out-comes, especially in terms of monetary or relationship settlements. Instead, recon-sider the changing financial and relationship needs of the parties involved and rec-ommend arbitration or renegotiation. A retrial COULD work.

• When trying a Court case during a Red Communications period, expectincorrect, misleading, or misinterpreted information to be revealed incourt and/or for the judge and jury to misunderstand key points. Be prepared tocounteract these problems, as failing to do so can mean losing the case.

SIGNING CONTRACTS• Avoid signing contracts during Red Communications or Red Contracts

periods, and advise your clients to do the same. See pages 42 - 44 for moreinformation. Thoroughly review all contracts during these periods and look forerrors or clauses that need to be renegotiated. When signing contracts at othertimes, see page 43 for how to choose the best date.

• Avoid signing contracts during Time-Outs, including new client contracts.Cases become so difficult that either the client or lawyer wants out, or nothingcomes of it. If you must meet with potential new clients during a Time-Out, suggestthey sleep on their decision and advise you of it the next day, or after the Time-Out.

58

MailingsPROMOTIONAL MAILINGSThere are two types of promotional mailings:

1. Mailings to promote existing products and services.2. Mailings to promote new products or services. These are product/service

introductions. See pages 62-63 for more information. The best mailing date depends on which type of promotion it is.For both types of mailings, follow these guidelines:• During Blue Communications periods, double-check everything.• Avoid sending out mailings during a Red Communications period, and

even a few days prior to the period, since they don’t get responses.• Never mail during a Time-Out, since nothing will come of that mailing, a product

intro will fail, and you’re likely to lose money on it.Existing Products and ServicesThese mailings are usually for catalogs or literature in which the majority of the productsor services have been previously introduced. If possible, choose a date with at least twoof the following, in this order of preference:

1. Green Communications code2. Green $ date3. Green or GOOD Final Result code

• A date with a Green Final Result code and a Green Communications code, withoutthe Green $, will be preferable to a date with a Yellow Final Result or a YellowCommunications code (and still a Green $ day).

• A Green $ day adds faster product sales and growth, so if you have the opportuni-ty to use one of these days, you generally get better results.

New Products or ServicesThese mailings are primarily to announce new products or services. They’re considerednew starts, since they’re essentially product or service introductions. Choose the follow-ing in this order of preference:

1. Green Final Result code2. Green Activities code3. Green $ day

If you must select a date with two out of the three codes, choose a date with a GOODFinal Result code and a Green Activities code, if at all possible.• When available, a Green $ day adds faster product sales and growth.• Never introduce new products during a Red Activities period, unless it’s to

test a small market segment. Also avoid product intros during Red Contracts andRed Communications. See the Marketing sections on pages 39, 43, and 62-63.

esManufacturing and OperationsThe primary codes to monitor for manufacturing and operations are the Activities code, the Final Result code, Time-Outs, and Red Communications periods.

MANUFACTURING PROCESSES AND CHANGESMechanical and heat manufacturing processes are represented by the Activities code.Heat processes include soldering, welding, extrusion, and molding, as well as workingwith engines, air conditioning, and heating. Mechanical processes include assemblies, repairs, all fine motor skills, and precision work. Follow these guidelines:• During Green Activities code days, these processes work smoothly. During days

with Yellow Activities codes, challenges, difficulties, and obstacles are common.• Choose dates with both a Green Activities code and a GOOD (Green) Final

Result code to make changes to existing manufacturing processes and productsor start new production lines.

• If both green codes are not available within your required time frame, choose aGOOD Final Result and work through the challenges shown by the YellowActivities code. You will overcome the issues and get the positive outcome.

• Never start or make changes to production processes or sign off changedocumentation to products during a Time-Out. Something is wrong or wasincompletely tested, but it won’t be discovered until much later. This has resulted inmajor international product recalls. Changes that are signed off during a Time-Outmust be redone later, after critical data is discovered or better understood.

• Avoid starting new production lines during Red Activities periods. Thereare probably quality and mechanical/heat issues that have not been completelyaddressed. If you do ship a new product during the Red Activities period, it willlikely be considered a failure. Get the problems fixed and then ship when it’s over.

OPERATIONS: SYSTEMS, EQUIPMENT, AND FACILITY CHANGESDuring Red Communications periods there are more electronic equipmentfailures and transportation delays than at any other time. Follow theseguidelines:• Anticipate production and other delays due to equipment failures, maintenance, or

absent personnel, and plan schedules accordingly.• Avoid facility moves, upgrades, or new computer or software installations,

during Blue or Red Communications periods. A high rate of failures andincompatibility problems occur during these periods.

• Serious difficulties, schedule delays, and financial losses can also occur withfacility or distribution/shipping center moves during these periods.

• Red Communications periods have high rates of transportation and shippingproblems. Anticipate delays and errors in shipping, receiving, and distribution.

• Catch up, clean up, replan, find and fix your critical errors (there will definitely besome!), do repairs, and get organized.

61

Management and Project Leadership STRATEGIC DECISIONSTime-Outs are unsuccessful periods for important meetings! Don’t take impor-tant actions or make important decisions then. The BEST dates for strategic decisionshave at least a GOOD Final Result.• Data shows decisions during Time-Outs are usually based on misunderstandings,

incomplete or inaccurate knowledge, and need to be remade later.• Efforts to fulfill the ill-made decisions are scrapped, as long as months or years

later, leading to serious losses in time and resources.• Avoid Time-Outs for the following: hiring, interviewing (see hiring and firing on

page 64), major presentations, and starting anything new. If you make new prod-uct development decisions, see Marketing on pages 62-63.

NEW PROJECT STARTS• For successful projects, approve the project budget on a day with a GOOD Final

Result code and preferably a Green Activities code too.• If that’s not possible, a GOOD Final Result is more important. You’ll overcome the

obstacles and challenges of a Yellow Activities code with a GOOD Final Result.• If there is no budget approval process, then the first meeting starts the project.• Avoid starting new projects during Time-Outs, Red Activities, or Red

Communications periods! PROJECT SCHEDULES• Anticipate project delays during Red Communications periods. Some

aspect of the project needs to be reconsidered, reworked, or redone. Get it fixed.• Plan for half, or less, of the normal forward progress to actually take place. Once

you make the necessary changes, the project will actually be better than it waswhen you entered the red period.

• Anticipate miscommunications, plus computer equipment and transportation fail-ures during this time. Normal forward progress doesn’t resume until two weeksafter the Red Communications period is over.

NEGOTIATIONS AND CONTRACTSCritical codes for contracts are Time-Outs, the Final Result and Contracts codes.• Don’t sign an agreement or contract during a Time-Out. One or both parties

signing a contract during these times have either no intention or ability to honor it.• Choose a date with both a GOOD Final Result and a Green Contracts code, and a

Green Communications code when possible. See page 43 for more information.• Avoid signing and negotiating contracts during a Red Communications or

Red Contracts period. One or both parties may regret the long-term outcome ofagreements signed during these periods. (See pages 42 - 44 for more informa-tion.)

esMarketing and Marketing CommunicationsRed Contract Product / Service IntroductionsProducts and services introduced during a Red Contracts period generally have salesthat are 25-50% below forecasted sales, usually because the customer doesn’tbelieve the product or service is a good value.• Customers perceive a pricing problem or poor value for the product or service.• Poor quality, wrong feature set, or inadequate promotional materials are common.• It’s better to fix the problem prior to the intro, instead of missing future sales!MARKETING COMMUNICATIONSIf you work in Marketing Communications, Time-Outs and the Red Communicationsperiods will impact you the most.• Refer to the Advertising Strategies section on page 53 and follow the guidelines for

payment of ads and mailing trade show payments.• See the Printing section on page 65 and follow those guidelines with printers.• Avoid making scheduling or creative decisions during a Time-Out. You are either

missing critical information or misunderstanding something!• Never send anything to the printers during a Time-Out. You may have to scrap it.• If you print anything during Blue Communications, be sure to TRIPLE check it for

errors to prevent delays and losses later. Catch your mistakes now!• It is COSTLY and very RISKY to print new literature during Red Communications,

when multiple mistakes are made by both your company and the printers.Sometimes the literature has to be completely redone due to obvious errors, suchas the company’s phone number being printed incorrectly.

• It’s better to use Red Communications periods for editing, correcting, and rewritingnew literature OR updating, correcting, and reprinting existing literature.

• The best dates to send new printing to the printers is on a day with a GOOD FinalResult and a Green Communications code. If both are not available, choose theGOOD Final Result day.

MANUALS• If you develop and/or print manuals, read the Printing section on page 65.• Don’t print or reprint anything during a Time-Out! It will be a terrible experi-

ence and you may have to scrap it!• The best days to send new manuals to the printers have a GOOD (Green) Final

Result and a Green Communications code.• Avoid sending NEW manuals to the printers during Red Communications.

They may take two to three times longer to get done and still be incorrectly printed.• New manuals benefit most from Red Communications periods if authors reorga-

nize and rewrite the material and correct all the mistakes. Reprinting existingmanuals is favored under Red Communications.

63

MarketingNEW PRODUCT / SERVICE DEVELOPMENT APPROVALS• The best dates for new product development approvals have a GOOD Final

Result code (Green), with a Green Activities code and a Green $.• Second best choices are two of the three, with a GOOD Final Result. The chal-

lenges of a Yellow Activities code can be overcome with a GOOD Final Result.• Never approve new product development decisions during a Time-Out. To

date, no successful products that were approved during Time-Outs have ever beenfound. Most were scrapped several months or years later, after costly developmentand research, and were never introduced.

NEW PRODUCT / SERVICE INTRODUCTIONS• The best dates for new product introductions have all Green codes and a Green $.• Second best dates have a GOOD Final Result code and any other Green codes.• A Green $ day indicates faster product sales and growth.• A Green Activities code shows a stronger competitive position in the market and

good quality.• A Green Communications code shows customers will understand the product or

service, and software, literature, and documentation are effective and complete.• A Green Contracts code shows the product is priced right and customers like it.• Introducing immediately before, on, or after a Full Moon (see page 38) can help

bring the new product or service before the public faster with a GOOD FinalResult.

• Never introduce a product during a Time-Out (See page 36) or any Red peri-od. See page 40 for product intros during Red Activities, and below for RedCommunications and Red Contracts introductions.

Red Communications Product / Service IntroductionsMost new products or services introduced during Red Communications periods don’tsell well. Customers miss the intro, misunderstand the product, or fail to buy it. Unlessyour product or service is historical, or otherwise associated with the past or lookingback, the ratio of actual sales to forecasted sales can be as low as 40%. Also notethat:• A product with software may not be completely finished or fully tested.• There may be quality problems with the product.• Literature, promotional materials, or the manual may inadequately address the

product’s features/benefits, or fail to create desire for the product or service.• If you are rushing to market during a Red Communications period, you are

hurrying up to fail. • It’s best to reconsider previous assumptions, do beta testing, and fix issues with

the product, software, or its promotional materials before it’s released. Then intro-duce after the fixes are complete (and the Red Communications period is over) formuch better future sales.

esPersonnelINTERVIEWS For best results when interviewing prospective candidates:• Interview on days with a GOOD Final Result and a Green Communications code.• Whenever possible, don’t interview during Time-Outs. Candidates are usually not

hired, unless everyone is interviewed during Time-Outs. (This does happen!) Theinterviewer may misunderstand the applicant’s abilities or the job requirements.

• When it’s your turn to interview for a job, remember not to do so during a Time-Out, unless you don’t want to get the position!

HIRINGHiring is a new start. For best results:• Make the offer on a day with a GOOD (Green) Final Result.• If at all possible, arrange for the new employee to begin his or her employment on

a day with a GOOD Final Result and a Green Activities code.• Don’t hire or make an offer to hire during a Time-Out. The statistics for this

working out well are dismal and these are the usual results:1. The person hired may not show up regularly for work.2. He or she often performs the job poorly.3. He or she may quit the job prematurely for personal reasons.

• Do everyone a favor and never start a new hire during a Time-Out!It’s difficult to hire during Red Communications periods because:• Unresolved administrative issues or reorganizations are often under way.• Managers who must approve new hires may be travelling or on vacation.• Compensation packages or job descriptions may be under reconsideration.• Both the company and the candidates are likely to rethink their needs during this

time, making it more difficult to determine the best match for both.• During Red Communications periods, the interviewer may misunderstand answers

to key questions or the candidate may misunderstand the question. If you mustinterview during these periods, double-check your understanding of the answers.

TERMINATIONS• Time-Outs can be successfully used to terminate an employee without legal

repercussions, if the other code lines are primarily green.• If you can’t find a date when Communications, Activities, and Contracts codes are

green during a Time-Out, choose a date when two of those codes are green andthe other one is yellow or blue.

• Avoid terminations under any Red periods, especially Red Activity periods,if at all possible. Terminations during Red periods are often perceived as apersonal attack and the person terminated is more likely to file suit. If you mustterminate an employee during any Red period, do NOT do so during aTime-Out!

64

Printers and PrintingPRINTERSIf you work in the printing industry, everything you do (sales, quotes, print jobs, deliver-ies, and accounting) is related to the Communications codes and Time-Out periods.Watch them carefully and follow these guidelines:Time-Out Periods in Printing• Avoid starting new print jobs (i.e., avoid actually starting your printing

presses on a new print job) during Time-Out periods, and you’ll save yourselfand your customers a lot of grief and money!

• Time-Out periods are best used to finish up jobs that have already been started, process paperwork, bind, collate, or clean up. The jobs you lose money on are theones you start printing during Time-Out periods when mistakes are made.

Blue and Red Communications in Printing• BEFORE and during the Blue Communications period, get preventive mainte-

nances done to prevent equipment failures during Red Communications.• Put your print shop on “Red Alert” for mistakes and equipment problems during

Blue and Red Communications periods. These periods are notorious for printingdifficulties due to numerous changes, errors, delays, and equipment failures.

• Mistakes made during the Blue Communications period may not be discovereduntil the Red Communications period.

• During Blue and Red Communications periods, as each job comes in, determinewhether it’s a new print job for the customer or if it’s a reprint.

• Jobs that are being reprinted during these periods go much better than brand new,first-time print jobs. New print jobs during Blue and Red periods often haveerrors and miscommunications, or need changes and require extra attention.

• Completely back up all computer and printing systems prior to the RedCommunications period. NEVER install new equipment or software during RedCommunications! See Computer Equipment on page 54 for more information.

PRINTING (for Customers)• Never take a print job to the printers during a Time-Out. Your job likely has

mistakes in it or is missing critical information. You may have to scrap your printjob.

• If you print anything during Blue or Red Communications, be extremelycareful with proofing, and place your order on a date with a GOOD Final Result.

• Reprinting items is favored during Red Communications, although delaysdue to changes, equipment, or transportation failures can still occur.

• Printing new items is NOT favored during Red Communications. These jobsare plagued with serious, costly mistakes and long delays. Often this is due to last-minute changes. Rework what you want to create during this period, and then printit after it’s over. Plan ahead to avoid these problems!

esProfessional Services If you’re a doctor (see also page 57), lawyer (see also page 58), psychologist, therapist,or other service provider, follow these guidelines for best results with your practice.SCHEDULING NEW CLIENTSTo make the most of new client opportunities:• Whenever possible, schedule new clients for their first visit on a date with a GOOD

(Green) Final Result. Green Communications and/or Green Activities codes arealso very desirable for first visits, but not required.

• Don’t schedule new, first-time clients during Time-Outs. They’ll likely fail toshow up, or fail to follow through on their treatment, or the service provided.

• Of the first-time clients who did show up for their first appointment during Time-Outs, research showed the majority failed to return for later appointments or can-celed their treatments in mid-stream.

TIME-OUT TO-DOs• If you’re unable to avoid scheduling clients during Time-Outs, schedule only your

established clients during these times. Avoid making decisions during these visits.• Other good uses for Time-Out periods include:

1. Review patient or client test results.2. Write or dictate client or patient notes.3. Review or investigate treatment options.4. Discuss treatment plans with other care providers.5. Write articles or reports, or clean and organize your office.6. All-day Time-Outs make great days off!

ADVERTISING YOUR PRACTICE• The date and time you turn in or mail an ad or trade show payment is

directly related to its effectiveness. This is especially important when payingfor multiple placement ads, or an important one-time ad, such as a directory listing.

• The best dates to pay for ads or trade shows have a:1. Green Final Result code2. Green Communications code3. Green $

• The second-best dates to pay for ads or trade shows don’t have a Green $.• Never place an ad during a Time-Out. The results are dismal to nothing and

you normally lose money, since they don’t produce results.• The publication date of the magazine has little to no effect on the results of your

ad, unless it’s published during a Red Communications period. Regular readersmay miss that issue or fail to read it, due to their need to catch up on other things.

• Plan ahead to avoid placing ads during Red Communications periods.• Don’t announce a new service during any Red period. See pages 40, 44, 62

and 63.

66

Publishing and Writing Time-Outs, the Communications code, and the Final Results codes are critical toobserve in publishing and writing.PUBLISHING New Books, Magazines, or JournalsYour industry is directly tied to the Communications code in every part of your process, from writing the book or article, editing it, printing, and then shipping and selling it.• The best dates to approve a new book for development or sign author contracts will

have a GOOD (Green) Final Result code and a Green Communications code. If theCommunications code is yellow, all your processes will have challenges throughoutthe project. A Yellow Final Result code shows the final results will be disappointing.

• Find the best Green day with a GOOD Final Result code for shipping the firstvolumes of a new book to distributors and retailers. This is your official introductiondate and whatever this day is like will be reflected in the book’s sales.

• Avoid shipping new books for the first time (intro) to distributors or retailers on a daywith a CHALLENGING Final Result code. Sales of the book will be disappointing.

• Never ship a new book for the first time to distributors or retailers during aTime-Out. The book will most likely fail.

• Never approve a book’s budget during a Time-Out. It’s highly unlikely to evermake it to market unless the project is revamped in a major way.

• Don’t mail a signed contract to an author for his/her signature during aTime-Out. Either the author won’t sign it, or there’ll be many problems working withthe author. You’ll be forced to rewrite or cancel the contract.

• Don’t send a new book or magazine to the printers during a Time-Out. It’seither replete with errors or it won’t get printed correctly. To fix the situation, cancelthe job and resend a new purchase order on a better day.

• Use Red Communications for editing new books and reprinting existingbooks. Editing and reprinting are favored under Red Communications, but remem-ber mistakes can be made during Blue Communications. So slow down then.

• Avoid printing new books during Red Communications. Anything new printedduring Red Communications has serious errors, delays, or miscommunications. Thebook may take two-three times longer to get printed and still not be printed correctly.

WRITINGWatch the Communications codes, the Final Results codes, and the Time-Outs to deter-mine which days work best for your type of writing.• Time-Outs are great for gestating, developing, and researching new ideas, but your

mental energy may be too low to make good writing progress during these times.Do “brain dumps” and then organize the material later, when the energy is stronger.

• See Contracts on page 43 for selecting the best days to sign contracts with publish-ers, or call your business astrologer to ensure a financially good book contract. Formore information, see page 102 for timing services.

esPurchasing and Supplier ContractsPURCHASING:PRODUCTS, SERVICES, PARTS, OR MATERIALS• Placing an order is the same as a new start and making a decision. For best

results place as many orders as possible on dates with a GOOD (Green) FinalResult code.

• Don’t place purchase orders during Time-Outs. Critical information is missingor a key requirement has been misunderstood. The following may occur:1. Products and materials purchased may have quality or delivery problems.2. Parts or manuals may be missing.3. You may order the wrong product, or the order may be entered incorrectly.4. The wrong item may be shipped, or the item may not be available.5. Services purchased during Time-Outs may have similar issues, ranging from

poor service to no service at all.Use Time-Outs for These Activities:• Request quotes or gather information for future purchasing decisions.• Catch up on paperwork, organize or clean your office, write letters, review quotes,

or finish things. Just don’t place orders or sign contracts!NEGOTIATING SUPPLIER CONTRACTS• The best dates for important negotiations and signing supplier contracts have a:

1. Green Communications code, so communications go smoothly2. Green Contracts code, so the relationship is stable and beneficial3. GOOD (Green) Final Result code, so the long-term outcome of the negotia-

tions and contract is positive. A GOOD Final Result code is only needed forthe contract signing and the first date of negotiations.

• When the ideal date is not available for a contract, the second best choice is aGOOD (Green) Final Result code with a Green Contracts code. There may be mis-communications or challenges with contract details, but the relationship and long-term results will be positive.

• Green $ days are not favorable for buyers. The negotiations are more enjoy-able, and you’re willing to pay more. So suppliers get larger profits on Green $days.

• If you’re negotiating a difficult contract with known issues, or there is a challengingrelationship between the parties, look for negotiating dates with a:1. Yellow Contracts code, if there are relationship challenges2. Yellow Communications code, if there are challenges in the details of the deal3. GOOD Final Result, so you eventually reach an agreement. You’ll overcome

the obstacles.4. Wait for a GOOD Final Result and Green Contracts code to sign.

• Avoid negotiating and signing contracts during Red Contracts and RedCommunications periods. See pages 42 - 44 for details.

68

Relationship TipsThe primary codes to consider for all types of relationships are the Communicationsand Contracts codes.BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP TIPS• The Communications code indicates the ease (Green) or difficulty (Yellow) in com-

municating your needs, desires, or other information to another person.• See page 41 for a list of potential challenges with Yellow Communications.• A Red Communications code is good for reconnecting with past business partners

or colleagues, but due to the high potential for miscommunications:1. It’s not a good time to negotiate new deals; better to do your research instead.2. It’s a good time to reconsider old deals that didn’t work and find new ways to

make the deal workable.• The Contracts code indicates the ease (Green) or challenges (Yellow) in relating to

the other person. This includes: how you feel about each other, trust or coopera-tion issues, and who will accept which responsibilities within the relationship.

• See page 43 for a list of potential challenges with Yellow Contracts.• During Red Contracts (only the handshake line is red), it’s time to either resolve

challenging business relationships or sever them.• Don’t develop new relationships or negotiate new deals during Red Contracts.• For the first meeting of new negotiations, select a date with a GOOD Final Result,

and whenever possible, both a Green Contracts and Green Communications code.PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP TIPS• The Contracts code indicates the ease (Green) or difficulty (Yellow) of relating to

another person, the amount of trust and cooperation within the relationship, andhow the responsibilities for the relationship are shared.

• The Communications code shows the ease (Green) or challenges (Yellow) forcommunicating with another person, arranging schedules, and travelling to meeteach other.

• See Yellow Contracts on page 43 and Yellow Communications on page 41.• Asking for a first date?

Ask on a date with a GOOD Final Result and a Green Communications code. AGreen Contracts code is a plus!

• Select the first date on a day with a:1. GOOD (Green) Final Result2. Green Contracts (you enjoy each other)3. Green $ (you have a very nice time)4. Green Communications code, which makes it easier to communicate your

needs or desires to someone else.• Choosing a date for a special evening or celebration?

1. Select a date with a Green $ and a GOOD Final Result.2. A Green Contracts and/or Green Communications code is also desirable.

esRetail Sales and DistributionThe most important codes for retail sales and distribution are Green $ days, FinalResult codes, Time-Outs, Communications, and Activities.PROMOTIONAL EVENTS• Schedule a promotional event to begin on a day with a GOOD Final Result code

and a Green $ whenever possible.• If that’s not available, look for the Moon in Sagittarius and a GOOD Final Result

code, as those dates tend to produce a higher sales volume.• Don’t begin a promotional event during a Time-Out. Customers usually don’t

show up, and if they do come and buy, they are more likely to return whatever theypurchased during the Time-Out.

• See page 45 (Green $ and Promotions) for more information about choosing thebest dates for sales events.

DAILY SALESDaily sales are assisted by Green Communications and Green Activities codes. • A Green Communications code indicates that sales are easier to process.

Customers easily find what they want and the payment process goes smoothly.• Yellow and Red Communications periods are associated with:

1. More problems with registers and computers2. Challenging communications between sales clerks and customers3. Difficulties with product shipments, such as the wrong products being

shipped, and orders arriving late or not at all• Avoid promo headaches during Yellow and Red Communications days. Plan

ahead!• A Green Activities code indicates things are going well competitively and ener-

getically.1. Promotional energy is strong and customers have more energy to shop.2. Less stress and anxiety makes the shopping experience more fun.3. Sales associates tend to spend more time and energy with customers.

• Yellow and Red Activities codes indicate higher levels of stress and anger.1. Prior to Red Activities, give your sales associates refresher training in

assertiveness and how to handle difficult customer situations.2. Extra training will be appreciated by both your customers and sales people and

can repay you with higher sales than this tough period would normally support.PURCHASING • See page 68 for information about when to order merchandise. Don’t place

orders for products during Time-Outs, for these reasons:1. You will either order too many or too few, or get the wrong product, wrong

quantity, or damaged products.2. Even worse, the merchandise may not sell. Whenever possible, place pur-

chase orders on days with GOOD Final Results.ADS: See page 53 for the best strategies and times to place advertising.PERSONNEL: See page 64 for interviewing, hiring, and termination information.TRAINING: See page 73 for training information.70

Real Estate: Buying and SellingSELLING REAL ESTATE: AGENTS AND SELLERS• Sign listing agreements on dates with a GOOD Final Result, and preferably a

Green Contracts and Green Communications code.1. A Yellow Contracts code indicates challenges to the relationship and/or the

structure of the contract (who’s responsible for what).2. A Yellow Communications code indicates communication challenges and/or

issues related to the details of the deal.• When signing the listing agreement, never sign during a Time-Out. Sellers don’t

sell their property and agents don’t get paid.• Cancel any listing agreements signed during a Time-Out and re-sign a new one

using the above guidelines to choose a good date.• Listing agreements signed during ANY RED period will encounter DELAYS in

making and closing the sale of the property. It’s better to spend the Red periodfixing up the property first and then sign the listing agreement after it’s over.

• A listing agreement signed immediately AFTER the Red Communications periodcan still encounter delays and mistakes until two weeks have passed.

• Accept and sign offers from prospective buyers on dates with Good Final Resultsand preferably with a Green Contracts code and/or a Green Communicationscode. A Green $ Day is a big PLUS. The buyer will likely be willing to pay more.

• Never counteroffer during a Time Out. Your offer won’t be accepted or the deal willfall through later.

BUYING REAL ESTATE• Make your offer to buy on a date with a GOOD (Green) Final Result, and whenever

possible, a Green Contracts code. A Green Communications code is a plus.• If you receive a counteroffer, you are starting over. Sign the counteroffer on the best

date you can find in your time frame (see above), but never during a Time-Out.• An offer made or signed during Red Communications indicates delays to the deal.• An offer during Red Contracts indicates issues related to the value of the property.• Hire the property inspector on a date with a GOOD Final Result and a Green

Communications code, to get the best inspection. A Green Activities code is a plus.• Arrange a closing date on a GOOD Final Result date with a Green Contracts code

and preferably also a Green Communications code.1. A Yellow Communications code indicates potential issues with the details of

the contract. Double or triple-check them for accuracy.2. A Yellow Contracts code indicates future challenges with the relationship

between you and the mortgage company.• When you first go into the property after signing the closing papers, clear the

energies in it (see your Feng Shui advisor for this).• Move into the property on a date with a GOOD Final Result, a GreenCommunications code (easier for moving!), and preferably with a Green $.

esSales, Presentations, and Sales ContractsSALES CALLS, PRESENTATIONS, AND TRADE SHOWS• For the best results from major presentations, sales calls, or trade shows, choose

dates with the following codes:1. Green Communications code: a good presentation with few or no obsta-

cles2. GOOD Final Result code: a positive final outcome3. Green $: growth or good margin

• Another good choice is a GOOD Final Result code, combined with either a GreenCommunications code or a Green $.

• If these are unavailable, choose a date with a Green Communications code.• Don’t give presentations or make important sales calls during Time-Outs.

Nothing—i.e., no actions or positive decisions—comes of them.• Never attempt to close a sale during a Time-Out. The answer will be NO.• Avoid exhibiting in trade shows or events that start during a Time-Out.

Attendance is usually dismal and you may lose money from your efforts.• Avoid giving major presentations during Red Communications periods.

1. Key people are likely to miss it and/or misunderstand important points.2. If you exhibit during one of these periods, anticipate transportation and elec-

tronic equipment problems, and have backup equipment available.TIME-OUT DOs• In sales, Time-Outs are best used for paper work, tying up loose ends, cleaning up

or organizing the office, finishing up old business, and writing reports.• Time-Outs are great for brainstorming about prospective customers and markets,

and reviewing sales techniques.NEGOTIATIONS AND SALES CONTRACTS• For best results when negotiating customer contracts, choose dates with a:

1. Green Contracts code, for stable and harmonious relationships2. GOOD Final Result code, for the first day of negotiations and the signing of

the contract: for a positive outcome of the negotiations and a good contract3. Green Communications code, for good communications and handling the con-

tract details well4. Green $, for an added benefit and to ensure the contract is a good financial or

growth opportunity for you• When the above dates are not available, choose a date with a GOOD Final Result

code, in combination with a Yellow Communications or Yellow Contracts code. You’ll overcome the difficulties indicated by the Yellow code.

• Avoid negotiating during Red Communications or Red Contracts periods.Expect major difficulties and delays if you do. See pages 42 - 44 for more details.

• During the Red Contracts period, financing, pricing, values, and relationship issuescan delay or prevent a deal from happening.

• Don’t sign contracts during Red Contracts or Red Communications peri-ods. See pages 42 and 44 for more information.

72

Speaking, Teaching, and TrainingSPEAKING• In general, the best speaking engagement dates have a GOOD Final Result code

and either a Green Communications code, or the Moon in Gemini , Libra , orAquarius .

• If you sell books or tapes at your speaking functions, a Green $ day is a plus.• Track your speeches and the Communications code to see whether you are more

anxious and stressed out during Yellow Communications days, or if you are moredynamic and energized. Choose the best dates based on your own experience.

• Red Communications periods usually result in smaller audiences, as some peoplewho planned to attend are unable to do so.

• During a Red Communications period, arrange to have backup equipment avail-able if you speak. Sound systems, slide and overhead projectors, and computersoften choose these times to break down!

• Avoid scheduling speaking engagements during a Time-Out; far fewer peo-ple attend or you may find yourself being unable to show up.

• To advertise or promote your speaking engagements, see page 53 for thebest advertising strategies and payment options.

TEACHING and TRAINING• The best days for educational activities have Green Communications codes and/or

the Moon in Gemini , Libra , or Aquarius .• If possible, choose the first date for your class, training program, or workshop to

have a GOOD Final Result and one of the above-listed codes.• Avoid starting the first class, training, or workshop during a Time-Out,

since fewer students attend and the energy is usually very low.• Announcing a class or workshop is a NEW START. Choose a date with a

GOOD Final Result, and if possible, a Green Activities code, when you firstannounce the class or workshop. A Green Communications code is also ideal.

• Watch the Communications and Activity codes to determine which of the possiblecolor combinations work best for you. Some teachers and trainers are energizedby Yellow Activities or Yellow Communications days. Others are stressed and anx-ious. Teach on the various days and observe how you feel. Choose what worksbest.

• Classes during Red Communications days can work, especially if your materi-al looks back at the past, or leads your audience to reconsider something important.

• The down side of teaching during Red Communications is that some students won’tbe able to attend, or your electronic equipment may fail—arrange for backups!

• You could also experience transportation challenges and find it difficult to get to theevent on time or at all. Plan extra commuting or travel time during these periods.

• During Red Activities, anger and physical energies run stronger than nor-mal. Arrange for the class to take extra stretch and exercise breaks, or incorporatephysical movement, such as yoga, into the class.

esTransportation, Repairs, and Shipping MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR FACILITIES• The best dates for engine repairs have Green Activities codes.• The best repair dates on other vehicle parts have Green Communications codes.• Avoid starting work on a new repair job during a Time-Out. You’re likely to misdiag-

nose the problem, and waste a lot of time on it. Finish up old jobs instead.• Prevent breakdowns in fleet vehicles or aircraft during Red Communications peri-

ods by doing as much preventive maintenance as possible prior to the Blue andRed Communications periods. The closer you come to the Red period during thelast days of the Blue period, the more likely you are to encounter repair delays,and/or breakdowns and accidents.

• If you operate or manage an auto repair shop, a service station, towing service, orany other vehicle maintenance facility, schedule extra personnel and tow truck dri-vers to accommodate the increased workload during Red Communications. Manymore accidents, breakdowns, and general transportation problems occur then.

• Although all repairs are favored during Red Communications periods, many mis-communications, schedule delays, and mistakes are made. Double-check all workand communications, and anticipate repair delays.

VEHICLE PURCHASES AND REPAIRS• Don’t purchase vehicles during Red Communications, Red Activities, or

Time-Outs. They’re likely to have at least one serious problem or many minorones.

• Alternatively, you may regret your decision later because the vehicle doesn’t meetyour needs, or you find a better deal.

• If your vehicle needs maintenance, do it prior to the Blue and Red Communicationsperiods to prevent it from breaking down.

• Don’t repair your vehicle during a Time-Out, as it’s likely to be done incorrectly.• For the best repairs, choose a day with a GOOD Final Result code combined

with either a Green Activities code (for engine repairs) or a Green Communicationscode (for basic vehicle repairs), or all three.

SHIPPING SERVICES• Schedule extra employees during Red Communications. Shipping compa-

nies encounter their toughest challenges during these periods with accidents, break-downs, traffic delays, computer failures, and weather-induced transportation crises.Even the UPS strike occurred during a Red Communications period!

• Monitor Time-Out days during Red Communications periods carefully. It’sespecially difficult to meet schedules on those days. Arrange to have backup per-sonnel and/or extra vehicles available, if possible.

• Avoid making any important decisions, such as scheduling, purchasing, or hiringduring Time-Outs. You’re missing critical information, or you misunderstand a keysituation. See page 36 for more information.

74

Travel Services and General Travel TRAVEL SERVICES• Green Communications codes with GOOD Final Results show the best days for

your industry.• Carefully monitor Blue and Red Communications periods and Time-Outs!

Double and triple-check for the many mistakes made during these periods!• Whenever possible, avoid booking customers during Time-Outs. Something

goes wrong with these bookings. Either the customer is missing vital information, oryou’re misinterpreting the customer’s instructions and will need to redo the booking.

• For customers who insist on purchasing their flights during these times, be sure tosell them travel insurance, as they will need it!

• Red Communications periods are very tough for travel and travelservices. The very beginning and end of the Red Communications periods arenotorious for planes not flying, equipment failures, and severe delays in travel.Whenever possible, give customers longer layovers between flights on these daysor steer them to different dates.

• Watch for mistakes on your part during Blue and Red Communications, sincemany travel mistakes are made during these periods.

• Be especially careful about bookings during Time-Outs in the Blue and RedCommunications periods. Ask customers to reconsider dates and times beforefinalizing their plans.

GENERAL TRAVEL• For best results, pay for and begin trips on dates with GOOD Final Results and a

Green Communications code. If you can also start your trip on a Green $ day, thetrip will be very enjoyable, profitable, or you may spend a lot of money.

• Red Communications periods are more difficult for travel, and travel plansmade during these times often have more errors:1. Airlines have more delays, regardless of the time of year. Severe storms, fog,

security issues, labor issues, or electronic equipment problems often preventplanes from leaving on time.

2. Connecting flights may be missed or your luggage may be lost.3. Delays and mistakes with hotels and rental cars are common.4. Miscommunications and computer failures contribute to further problems.5. In general, avoid travel during these times, especially at the very beginning or

end of the Red Communications periods, when Mercury is not moving at all.• Avoid starting business or personal trips during Time-Outs, as these trips

come to nothing or have major problems such as:1. Getting robbed, having accidents, illness, or major travel issues2. Business trips often ending with the mission cancelled, delayed, or thwarted3. Negotiations failing or trade shows yielding a loss

• Avoid making travel plans during Time-Outs. You’ll either need to reschedule,or the agent may book you on a flight that will later cancel or be on the wrong date.

esPersonal Uses of the GuidePersonal uses of the Guide are numerous. Be sure to read the code and date explana-tions on pages 9-10 and 36-51. Here are some of the best personal uses:APPOINTMENTS• To interview for jobs, or hire contractors or subcontractors for work on your home,

select a date with a Green Final Result and a Green Communications code. SeePersonnel on page 64 for more information.

• Don’t schedule first visits to new service providers, such as doctors, lawyers, orother professionals, during a Time-Out. Nothing will come of it! Select dates with aGOOD Final Result code and a Green Communications code for first visits.

COMPUTERS• See page 54 regarding computer and software purchases, and installations.• Avoid computer and software installations during Red Communications. GARAGE SALE DATES AND ADS• The best garage sale dates have a Green Communications code, a Green $, and

a GOOD Final Result code.• The two out of three rule applies when you can’t find the perfect date, but always

give priority to a GOOD Final Result.• Red Contracts (Venus retrograde) is an ideal time for garage sales. That’s the per-

fect time to reevaluate what you have, what you don’t want, and recycle things.• Red Communications is also an appropriate time to recycle things with a garage

sale, but there may be difficulty with the advertising or fewer buyers may show.• If a Time-Out occurs during the day, sales will be slow. Start the sale before or

after (not during) the Time-Out. Choose dates with only short ones, or none at all.• For best results for placing ads, see the advertising sections on pages 53 and 66.HEALTH CARE• DON’T schedule doctor visits or diagnostic tests during Time-Outs. You may be

misdiagnosed, the test may not be done correctly, or the results may be lost.• See page 57 and Appointments (above) regarding scheduling visits.INVESTMENTS• Don’t invest during a Time-Out period. See page 56 for more details.• The BEST investment dates have a GOOD Final Result, a Green $, and a Green

Contracts code. Two out of three is still good, but choose a GOOD Final Result.JOB APPLICATIONS When you drop your resume in the postal mailbox (the blue USPS box), fax, or e-mailyour resume, THAT’S the time that counts for a job application. Getting a job interviewis related to how well you choose the application date.

76

Personal Uses of the Guide• It’s best to apply with a GOOD Final Result date and a Green Activities code.• A GOOD Final Result date for the interview is nice, but not necessary. You’re work-

ing off the cycles for the date you applied, until you start the job.• Avoid interviews during Time-Outs. You’re unlikely to get the job.• Starting the job itself is considered a new start (see page 8). Start a new job on a

date with a GOOD Final Result. A Green $ shows financial opportunity for the job.All Green codes are helpful.

PURCHASES• Don’t make important purchases or buy gifts during Time-Outs.

1. Gifts and clothing bought during Time-Outs are usually returned or not used.2. Many items have something wrong with them, or they just look different when

you get them home and you realize they don’t work with your wardrobe. 3. Never make a major purchase, such as a home, car, computer, or furnishings,

or sign a contract during a Time-Out either! See pages 36 and 68 for moreinformation.

SCHEDULING CONTRACTORS• It’s natural to fix and repair your home during Red Communications. However, if

you are trying to schedule work done on your home, it’s a very tough time to do it.1. The contractor is likely to be called back to repair work that wasn’t done cor-

rectly during previous Red Communications and your new job will have towait.

2. Many more miscommunications occur with subcontractors during RedCommunications. Wait until this period is over to decide who to hire and whatexactly you want done. The price may even be better!

• If possible, arrange for the contractor to begin work on a date with a GOOD FinalResult, and be sure to sign or mail the contract on a good date as well.

SIGNING CONTRACTS • If you’re hiring contractors to work on your home, or signing a contract to buy

something substantial, then read pages 68 (Supplier Contracts) and pages 43-44(Contracts Codes). Don’t sign a contract during a Time-Out.

• Green $ days FAVOR the SELLER! There’s a tendency to spend more money onGreen $ days, but it may be worth it to you.

TRAVEL AND CARS• See pages 74-75 and 41-42 for information about the best and worst times to travel,

purchase a car, or get repairs. TAXES• Mail your tax returns during the longest Time-Out you can find to avoid getting

audited, but get a return receipt. See page 56 for more information. DON’T try thisif you are cheating on your taxes! It could backfire and you could be worse off.
