February 25, 2017
Dear Sensei,
For more than six decades Kaicho Kiyoshi Yamazaki has been a leader in teaching traditional martial arts, both in the
United States and internationally. This year marks the 50th Annual Japan Karate Do Ryobu-Kai International (JKRI) Tour-
nament & Seminars, an event that Sensei Yamazaki launched when he first began teaching in the United States.
Through the decades, the JKRI event has brought martial arts students and instructors from around the world and all
walks of life together to train, learn from one another, and compete. The 2017 JKRI event is a milestone occasion that
is expected to draw a large number of attendees, and it is our goal to make this year’s event extra special.
We will be holding a three-day intensive Instructor Course, hosting our first-ever fundraising gala, and finishing off the
weekend with a friendly competition that is open to the public. The official event dates are May 4-7, 2017, and will be
held at the beautiful Irvine Marriott.
Please use this HOTEL LINK ( https://goo.gl/YjtKJT ) to reserve your rooms at a special rate of $115 per night. Attached
is the event packet which provides more details about the event.
In the meantime, you can learn more about the event here: www.JKR.com, or feel free to contact our headquarters
([email protected]) if you have questions.
We hope to see you in May!
Warm regards,
