Dear Veterans,

Thank you for visiting Ladysmith High School, doing the flag ceremony, the speech, and the twenty-one gun salute. I would like to thank you for serving in the military. It doesn’t matter if you were active duty or not, but what really counts is you volunteered to keep us free. Without you, I may not be in school right now.

I love that you risked your life for everyone else’s happiness and I hope when I serve in the military, that I am half the person you are! I plan to be a paratrooper in the army.

Most of my family has been in the military. I had three aunts serve; one was a medic, and one was a top of the class marksman, and the last was a pilot in the air force. Both my grandpas served; one was an infantryman and the other was a green beret but he taught other green berets how to be a green beret.

I would just like to thank you again for visiting Ladysmith High School.
