Tiger Den takes you inside the women’s swimming and diving program by spotlighting a different individual.

In this edition we will meet the reigning NCAC swimmer of the week, freshman Caroline Bridges.

Caroline Bridges ’16FreshmanMequon, Wisconsin / University School - Milwaukee Bridges claimed her first North Coast Athletic Conference accolade as she notched this week’s Women’s Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week award after her performance in a 138-83 victory over Illinois Wesleyan. This past weekend, Bridges set pool records at Illinois Wesleyan in the 100-yard freestyle (53.04) and as a key cog in the 200 free relay squad that stopped the clock at 1:40.06. In her other event, the 50 free, she was the first to touch the wall, with a time of 24.80. Her times this weekend weren’t even her best times of the year. Bridg-es set personal collegiate bests earlier this season at the DePauw Invitational in Erdmann Natatorium as she registered a 24.26 in the 50 free and a 52.36 in the 100 free.

Washington University Invite DePauw totaled 809.5 points and finished second at the Washington-St. Louis University Invita-tional. The 10th-ranked hosts won with 1144.5 points, while Lindenwood was third with 653.

The Tigers placed second in all five relays starting with the 200-yard medley relay of Reese Edwards, Allison Kirby, Morgan Graves and Courtney Lehmann in 1:53.74. The 800 freestyle relay of Emily Weber, Dana Zerbrini, Erin Horne and Rachael Mercer finished second in 8:03.53.

Edwards, Kirby, Graves and Horne were runners-up in the 400 medley relay in 4:11.53 as were Weber, Lehmann, Annaleise Dehnke and Horne in the 200 free relay in 1:41.30. DePauw’s 400 free relay of Horne, Dehnke, Weber and Mercer wrapped up the meet in second in 3:40.73.

Weber was second in the 500 free in 5:13.29 and the 1650 free in 18:16.09 and fourth in the 200 free in 2:00.11. Edwards finished second in the 200 back-stroke in 2:14.52 and was fourth in the 200 individual medley in 2:19.15.

Kirby placed third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.52 and the 200 breast in 2:35.51, while Graves was third in the 100 butterfly in 1:02.02.

Emma Haynes finished fourth in the 200 back in 2:20.42 and in the 100 back in 1:04.12 as did Horne in the 100 free in 55.49 and Bre Jennings in the 200 breast in 2:36.32.

Chelsea Courtney was second in one-meter diving with 364.25 points and fourth on the three-meter board with 299.45 points.

Tigers Target Titles, TrainTenaciously in the TropicsIn the beginning of winter break, the team traveled to Cocoa Beach, Florida for its annual winter training trip. While there, the team had the oppor-tunity to stay on the beach and focus solely on training and bonding as a team.Highlights of the trip included:• Team Bonfire on the Beach• Relay meet against Juniata College• “Boot Camp” style dryland session on the beach• Team Dinner
