Hi, my name is Deb Howe (“Nurse
Deb”). I have recently started at
Green Acres as the resident care
coordinator. I work 2 days per week
from 8am-4pm. I will usually be here
on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I live in
Reed City on 10 acres with my
husband Steve. I have 4 sons that
range from age 40 to 26. I have 3
grandchildren. I love being a nurse! I
also love to decorate. I am looking
forward to taking care of the residents at Green Acres. Feel free
to stop and introduce yourself or call me if you have any
concerns.

Dear Green Acres Family,
As summer is in full swing I want to encourage you to please come in
and join us for our music programs and the day to day activities. The
residents love when you stop by and join in on the fun. Our yearly
Family Summer BBQ will be on Thursday, July 12th with the meal
being served at 5:30. Your invitation is enclosed in the newsletter.
We are gearing up for our annual car show that will be held on August
24th from 6pm-8pm. If you have not been to one of our car shows, I
highly recommend coming this year. The car show is open to the
public, so feel free to invite your friends. We are looking forward to
our trip to Manistee this summer and Mackinaw Bridge this fall.
May God bless and keep you all,
Olivia

Welcome Jerry Goodman
After graduating high school in Flint, Jerry entered the working industry as a semi-truck
driver. Jerry spent 33 years behind the wheel. As a family, Jerry, his wife and 2 children
would spend time on their small boat fishing. Jerry and his son would go on hunting and
fishing trips. Jerry remembers one of the hunting adventures he was able to bring home a
12point buck he shot. The largest fish Jerry reeled in was a 35lb salmon that he caught on
Lake Michigan. Jerry loved spending time in the outdoors and with his family.
Welcome Joyce Laurent
Joyce was very active in the after-school activities at Cadillac high School. After
graduating Joyce attended Western Michigan. There she received her teaching degree.
The year 1950 was a very exciting year for Joyce. She was crowned Traverse City Cherry

staying home with the two boys. She was always baking something good in the kitchen.
Joyce loves being with people and listening to all different genres of music.

was the principal at Cadillac high school and Lincoln elementary school for a total of
20 years. He spent 10 years at Lincoln elementary before retiring. When John wasn’t
in a school building he was out on the golf course.
Welcome Elmer Horvath
Elmer was born in Toledo, Ohio. Elmer was a member of his high school debate team
