Hi-Way 9

Group of

Companies

We are proud

to be the

Carriers that

Care…

for our customers,

our Team,

and the communities

we serve.

The Carriers That Care!

Undeniably, Team 9 is incredible and with

your hard work and dedication throughout the

year, 2014 was successful on all accounts. At

Hi-Way 9’s annual Christmas Celebration we

were able to recognize numerous Team mem-bers with long-term service awards

(introducing our new Terryberry program al-

lowing each individual to choose their

award). A change in the nomination process

for the pinnacle awards this year allowed Team

9 members to have a voice and nominate who

they felt has gone above and beyond for their

Team and customers alike. 45 team members

were recognized with 9 deserving winners: just

one more reason to be proud of our Team!

Early in 2014 Hi-Way 9 Group of Companies as a whole saw the introduction of Allantra

training, providing a platform to ensure our

Team is trained with up to date infor-

mation. We have installed new Peoplenet units

in all of our trucks and are excited to continue

moving forward with our signature capture and

crossdock program, realizing the benefit this

will have on our team and the strong demand from our customers to keep moving forward

with technology. In October all divisions

rolled out our wage increase program, raising

the hourly and mileage wages by an average of

10% over the next 3 years. With today’s eco-

nomic standing and the competitive transporta-

tion industry, 2015 will present some challeng-

es, however we are confident that our incredi-

ble Team with their experience, customer ser-

vice and work ethic, has all the tools needed to

ensure Hi-Way 9 Group of Companies is a

safe, successful and a great place to work.

To you and your family-we wish you a Merry

Christmas and a safe holiday season.

Be a Professional!!!

For Safety’s Sake-

Drain your air

tanks daily!!!

During the recent Hi-Way 9 Group Annual Christmas Celebration, each Team 9 member attending was entered into additional prizes...because they love the spirit of giving! Hiram Schmerer (left) received a new coffee ma-chine, Todd Allen a great grill, and Hal Newman’s name was chosen for the amazing trip for two to Banff Adventures. More winners...more fun! The Carriers That Care!

Lori Hunter of Team 9

Red Deer recently

received her Canadian

citizenship.

Moving from England 8 years ago, this has been

a long process for Lori,

but we were glad she

was patient. We are

proud to call you one of

our own. Congrats!

Yvonne Capson’s (Team 9 Calgary)grandson, Ryker Karl, of the Wabamun

Wildcats-A1 Division, recently won their first hockey

tournament in Didsbury. The entire Calgary Hi-Way 9 office was certainly excited with

this proud grandma! Go Wildcats!

Congratulations to this Team 9 member for your notable milestone!

Your care and commitment are commendable.

to share their Christ-

mas Party selfies dur-

ing the celebrations.

Paige Zieminek is the selfie queen… submit-

ting THREE fun-loving

tions!

THE OLDER YOU GET, THE MORE YOU REALIZE THAT

IT ISN’T ABOUT THE MATERIAL THINGS,

THE MONEY OR EGO.

IT’S ABOUT OUR HEARTS AND WHO THEY BEAT FOR.

Alexis Weed, (left-with her siblings) daughter of Jennifer

Estelle (Streamline Edmonton) is involved with her choir at

school as well as an after school choir ( the Dominelli singers) and this season is her first year doing the Edmonton singing Christmas tree. Her natural talent is glowing

in her commitment to each of these worthy groups. Jennifer’s

pride is certainly creditable!

Would YOU like to share one of YOUR family’s accomplishments?

We’d love to hear about it!

Please send your picture and information to [email protected].

Anna Leigh (daughter of Carri Ann Martens of Team 9 Drayton Valley) wanted to send out a big “thank-you” to Hi-Way 9 for the gift card. Anna Leigh participated in the Christmas card design contest. You

are VERY welcome, young lady! Have fun!

Taytum Thomas (daughter of Jen Thomas-Team 9 Drumheller) was presented with her new IPAD as the winner of the Hi-Way 9 card contest. Thanks again, Taytum!

The majority of collisions are the result of driver error. Bad weather, mechanical failure and

poorly maintained roads may contribute to collisions, but by staying focused and paying atten-

tion to road conditions, you can avoid nearly all potential collisions.

To avoid collisions, keep these tips in mind:

*Minimize distractions and stay focused on the road *Adjust your driving to fit weather and road conditions

*Don’t drive when tired

*If your vehicle has an anti-lock brake system, use it correctly

*Know your limits

*Think ahead-and signal your intent

*Help prevent road rage
