Welcome to our new season. We’ve got incredible drama, amazing family shows, world-class dance, and some of the best comedy around, including the first ever Magic Rock Comedy Festival. We’re also delighted to be able to bring some of the very best of the last Edinburgh Fringe to Huddersfield; amongst them the completely wonderful SLIME and the show that everyone was talking about – Beach Body Ready.We’re continuing our commitment to making more work in Huddersfield, for Huddersfield – following on from Henry V, we’re producing another epic community production, and we’re also excited beyond belief to be co-commissioning a brand new show from Strong Lady.We are more than just a place to come and see shows though. We are the new
Courtyard Café and Bar – the perfect place for a Dark Woods Coffee, a bite to eat from our Good Food Guide recommended friends at Epicure, or a pint of Magic Rock. We are the Gallery – a space to take a few minutes out of your day, to relax and to reflect. We are our theatre spaces and meeting rooms – get in touch with us and use our spaces for whatever you need, from rehearsal or workshop, book group to sewing club. We are our Participation and Talent Development schemes – whether it be taking part in young company, getting work experience, new writing, producing or drag and cabaret. Our Young CompanyFor ages 6 - 18We’re proud to offer a range of weekly drama sessions designed to be creative and fun, enabling children and young people to share ideas and find their voice. Led by experienced facilitators, our weekly sessions are open to all and explore themes related to the professional productions.
Each term ends with a performance.
All sessions include a chance to see a live performance at the Lawrence Batley Theatre each term.
