    II. Introduction

U are in charge! That is our slogan, and with just these four words, Electrica Us business is

    summed up.

An innovative and efficient solution to an everyday problem that stumps everyday people is

finally here and accessible to everyone. Anyone who owns electrical devices that need to be charged

will encounter this problem when you take out a brand-new laptop with a battery life of three hours and

thirty minutes but then realize that in a year it has reduced to just two hours. The problem? The chargers.

Electrica U puts the consumers in charge literally. Customers can choose from an array of

choices to customize their very own chargers online. From phones, laptops, cameras, hybrid and

electrical cars, and other electrical devices that need to be charged, our U in Charge of your Charger

lets you determine the cord length for convenience, the charging voltage to be completely compatible

with your device, color of charger for your interests, types of charging like solar or electrical, and a

warranty plan. A universal travel charger kit is also offered for customers who have reached over a

    certain price as an incentive.

Electrica U chargers are engineered to the finest technology. We have worked with top electrical,

computer and software engineers to create a revolutionary battery charger. All chargers charge at full

blast with no trickling charging that damages the battery and with no float charging that has slow

charging. Once our Electrica U chargers sensors sense that the batteries are fully charged, depending on

the mode the charger is in, the electrical device plugged into the charger will either shut off to prevent

the battery levels from dropping. Our Electrica U smart phone chargers have a switch on the side of the

chargers that can be switched on if the user wants their electrical device to be turned off once it has been

charged, which only works if our free phone app has been downloaded, and this is where our software

engineers come: our software engineers have programmed a software that collaborates with our

Electrica U smart phone chargers to turn off when the battery is fully charged; however, we are still

finding solutions to turn off other electrical devices other than smart phones, but the scalability of

Electrica U stretches farther than the ends of the earth.

Our advisory board members had experience in their respective field of advice:

Jieyun Wong, Owner of multiple businesses (Wonderland gift shop, drinks and beverages

warehouse, and CW Angle Trade), has invaluable experience with businesses, and her ventures with

CW Angle Trade, which deals with imports and exports of goods including computer parts, can be very

    helpful to us.

James Liu, a computer and electrical engineer and business owner of LP Computers Inc., has a

lot of experiences with computers and electrical devices like phones and portable handheld devices. His

experience with computers and electrical engineering is priceless.

Rezwan Abir, the head software engineer at social fundraising solutions company Karma 411, a

branch of Canrock Ventures, provides precious experience and advice for he has created his own

Android and iPhone App from scratch, Ninjaken, and will guide us on our software for the Smartphone

apps. Canrock Ventures is willing to assist and to invest in Electrica U as well.

These advisory board members are all committed to give Electrica U their all for us to obtain

success. Success is already in our hands with these reliable, invaluable and trustworthy members.

her motivate herself to never give up and make things happen despite of the odds that may go against

    B. Trading Area Analysis

Electrica U relies on the Internet and other businesses. Online, consumers can customize their

own battery chargers since they are in charge of what they want for their chargers. As for the other

businesses, we are working out a deal with stores like Home Depot, Lowes, IKEA, PC Richard and

Sons, Staples, BJs, Costcos and any business that we can work with to distribute Electrica Us

chargers. Due to the Internet and the other businesses, Electrica U will reach many consumers all around

America, so we have a lot of potential of making copious amounts of profit.

Electrica Us target market is Americas middle class of all races pas t the age of 15, which

consists of 612,218,000 people, which includes singles, couples and families. We predict that the

majority of electrical device users is located in urban and suburban areas because of those who live in

urban and suburban areas rely more on technology than those in rural areas.

Our direct competitors are those who sell smart battery chargers, and our indirect competitors are

those who sell battery chargers and those who include the battery chargers with their electrical devices.

Most businesses that sell electrical devices that require charging will include the charger with the

device; however, some businesses do not make effective chargers and sometimes deliberately produce a

charger that decreases the devices battery life so consumers will go back to buy a whole new device or

a new battery. Although the battery chargers are usually most compatible with the devices because the

same company made the devices, they are probably not the most efficient chargers out there for the

    devices.

Electrica U allows consumers to customize their very own battery chargers so it is completely

compatible with the devices; they are tested thoroughly before shipping out to consumers. Not only are

the chargers designed for consumers convenience such as the cord length, but they also come with a

warranty plan with an array of plans consumers can choose from just in case something happens

with their battery chargers even though we will assure all a warranty plan isnt even needed since our

products are high-grade quality. We also 100% satisfactory plan on non-customizable chargers which

means consumers can return the chargers for a full refund if they are not satisfied with our chargers.

Our direct competitors are those who create smart battery chargers that either trickle charge or

    float charge.

commercials of beta testers feedback from all over America. Our commercials will show that we are

dependable and we are good at what we do. Our customer service is also top notch, so the online

customizing and ordering process is stress-free. Electrica U chargers have a patented system and

consumers can customize the batteries to their own needs and desires which places us ahead of the

game; the competitors are blown away in our dust.

    C. Market Segment Analysis

Electrica Us target market is Americas middle class of all races past the age of 15, which

consists of 612,218,000 people, which includes singles, couples and families. We predict that the

majority of electrical device users is located in urban and suburban areas because of those who live in

urban and suburban areas rely more on technology than those in rural areas.

Anyone who owns electrical devices that need to be charged will encounter this problem when

you take out a brand-new laptop with a battery life of three hours and thirty minutes but then realize that

in a year it has reduced to just two hours. In this world of technology and fast-paced society, sometimes

an extra five minutes on a phone or an extra thirty minutes on a laptop can make all the difference in a

business and in a personal life. A mother is trying to contact her son that she cant locate, and the last

five minutes of the phone that could have been savored with Electrica Us chargers is lost; she will have

to resort to borrowing another persons phone or using a payphone not the best for constant

communication. A businessman is presenting to a panel of investors, and the last thirty minutes can

    determine whether or not the business man receives the one million dollar investment or none at all;

with Electrica Us chargers, there is a much higher chance of getting that investment and the being

successful in the future presentations he will make. Electrica Us chargers will save you in those

    moments.

Electrica U chargers are special and benefit any user because they are efficient, have a turn-off

option, and can be customized. There are smart chargers that prevent this from happening, but they are

inefficient and ineffective as shown with the trickle chargers and float chargers. Nevertheless, as stated

before, consumers may feel that the battery chargers from the creators of the devices are better, but we

will build a good reputation with commercials of beta testers feedback from all over America. Our

commercials will show that we are dependable and we are good at what we do. Our customer service is

also top notch, so the online customizing and ordering process is stress-free. Electrica U chargers have a

patented system and consumers can customize the batteries to their own needs and desires which places

    us ahead of the game.

    D. Analysis of Potential Locations

Electrica U relies on the Internet and other businesses. Online, consumers can customize their

own battery chargers since they are in charge of what they want for their chargers. We can also set up

stalls in malls all over America. As for the other businesses, we are working out a deal with stores like

Home Depot, Lowes, IKEA, PC Richard and Sons, Staples, BJs, Costcos and any business that we

can work with to distribute Electrica Us chargers. Due to the Internet and the other businesses, Electrica

U will reach many consumers all around America, so we have a lot of potential of making copious

    amounts of profit.

Our manufacturing factories are located in China to make the most profit with low cost of

production. Electrica U will treat the workers of those factories with the same respect we would with

workers in American factories. China is industrializing and urbanizing almost every area of the country.

Due to the huge population of the Chinese people, there will always be people looking for jobs, and we

can easily keep the production progressing smoothly and seamlessly.

Electrica Us office will be in Clinton Development Company 606 N. Larchmont Boulevard, Los

Angeles, CA 90004. The rental fee is $3,173 per month for 1,504 square feet.

Our warehouse containing all of our products ready to be shipped out to consumers who

purchase through Electrica Us website will be at 2411 Exposition Place, Los Angeles, CA 90018. It is

near USC and near our offices, so we can easily and effectively ship the products out to those consumers

and also to the retail businesses. The price of the warehouse is $519,000 for 2,400 square feet. We will

also use this space to hold our custom-made products we receive from our factories in China and ship

them out to the consumers who have ordered them online.

Los Angeles is considered a location to start and grow clean tech businesses. In California, there

are other big technology businesses and having a close location near those businesses will help us learn

about the up-and-coming technology, so our researchers can invent new chargers for those new

products. UCLA, USC and Cal Tech are the top three research university facilities, so once their

students graduate, we can recruit them to help in our product development and electrical research. Our

research facilities will be in the same building.

    IV. Planned Operation

    A. Proposed Organization

In order to start business, Electrica U will obtain a federal employer identification number, pay

other taxes other than sales taxes, obtain licenses and permits, and obtain insurance. Electrica U will file

the appropriate New York business licenses, permits and tax forms, and apply through the federal

government application forms. We will also patent our charging technology to protect us from stealth of

intellectual property. Since Electrica U is a C corporation, ownership will be given to the executives,

    commercials on the media.

battery chargers ordered online. The Construction and Manufacturing Manager also works closely with

the manufacturing managers in Electrica Us factories in China.

The legal structure of the company is that of a C Corporation, so there is limited liability to the

shareholders. It allows the owners of the stocks and shares to not be liable for the debts. A C

Corporation allows us to use a medical reimbursement plan, receive help from venture capitalists, make

the company public and consider the taxes to lower tax costs.

C Corporations promote the fact that the owners are not liable if anything were to go wrong,

protecting the owners and shareholders; however, the drawbacks are that, as a C Corporation, we have to

pay double tax rates and they are more expensive to establish. C Corporations also allow unlimited

shares to be sold to the public. Due to this fact, Electrica U will bring in money through initial public

offerings (IPOs) than any other business of other legal structures.

    B. Proposed Product/Service

Electrica U chargers are engineered to the finest technology. We have worked with top electrical,

computer and software engineers to create a revolutionary battery charger. All chargers charge at full

blast with no trickling charging that damages the battery and with no float charging that has slow

charging. Once our patented Electrica U chargers sensors sense that the batteries are fully charged,

Our product development process goes through multiple steps to come up with a final product:

Step 1: During ideas generation, our product development team lead by our product development

manager, Damali Marie Smithdoes research on what electrical devices are marketable and profitable

to create Electrica U chargers. During ideas generation, the team also works to compete on adding

additional features that are not on the electrical devices chargers themselves that come with the

products when consumers buy them. Along with our patented sensor and charging technology, we try to

get a step ahead of the game. Innovation is the key during our ideas generation and product research

    process.

Step 2: As we finish generating an idea and doing research, we send it to the next step of the product

development process: concept design, prototype development and manufacturer concept. The product

development team will work closely with the design manager and the construction and manufacturing

After the team has finished the design and concepts, it moves down to Step 3.

Step 3: For step 3, there is testing: laboratory testing and field testing. After the prototype undergoes

the testing, it is evaluated by the beta testers that make up of representatives of every group of people.

When we receive the responses of the evaluations, we proceed to Step 4.

Step 4: The product development team and Damali Marie Smith sit down together to discuss the

responses of the evaluation. They formulate a plan and think of ways to accommodate everyones needs

as indicated in the feedback. After formulating a plan, they go through steps 2 and 3 until beta testers

    come back completely satisfied.

Our inventory policies will conform to the inventory policies the businesses we supply our

chargers for have for their inventory policies. For our website, however, since consumers will be

ordering online, we will stock up the products with medium or high demand faster and more abundantly

than the products with low demand. Custom-made battery chargers will be manufactured and then

shipped directly to the consumers once the packaged finished products reach our warehouse.

Our materials and resources we will use to manufacture our products will be from China since

our factories will be in China. We do not want to waste money shipping materials from America or from

any other country to China, so we chose Chinese suppliers. Our battery chargers cables will be from

Shandong Liangshan Quanxing Plastics Co., Ltd. (http://lsqx.en.alibaba.com/). Our battery chargers

Our factories are located in China: they are in charge of assembling all the components together

technology will be supplied by Chinese supplies, but we will have machinery that will form them. Like

    Manufacturing Process

    1

    A consumer orders a custom-made battery charger:

a solar-powered, white plastic, SmartPhone battery charger with 24 cord of5.1 V including turn-off mode.

    2

There will be stations already set up in the factory . Each station will be designated

to manufacture the plastic molds, the chargers' cords, circuit board with sensing

technology (using the PCB assembly machinery). There will be two separatestations: one with circuit boards that will not have the turn-off mode and one that

will manufacture circuit boards with the turn-off mode. Before assembly, allcomponents have already been made.

    3

The desired components are brought to the assembly line to assembly thecustom-made battery chargers.

They are then put through quality check, and when they have been checked,

they are packaged and shipped to Electrica U's warehouse in America.

    4

Upon arrival, all battery chargers are stored in our warehouse, and whenElectrica U receives orders from otherbusinesses we have deals and contracts

with such as Costco, Lowe's, Home Depot, IKEA, Kohl's, BJ's to distribute , we

ship them out to their stores and warehouses. All products - custom-made or non-custom-made - ordered online by

consumers are sent directly to the consumers' houses.

    C. Proposed Marketing Strategies

Electrica U will use a variety of marketing strategies to lure consumers in and capture their

hearts by saying we are the best in our trade. With a promotional message of U are in Charge,

consumers will be able to tell that they are put first when Electrica U is involved. Treating consumers

with the utmost respect and care will help them rest assured that they will be taken care well and that

they will get what they want. If they do not get what they want, they get a 100% satisfaction guaranteed

plan, so if they are not satisfied, they can request for a refund or exchange.

Electrica Us pricing policy varies depending on the areas of sales. We are planning on

distributing Electrica Us ready-made battery chargers to places like IKEA, Lowes, BJs, Kohls,

Target and other department stores and home furnishing store. The costs we sell our products to those

retail stores will be set at 20% more, so they pay us 120% of the price, which generates us 20% profit.

Selling to retail stores at 120% will help secure more sales on our website where we sell the same exact

products for lower prices with just paying 110% of the price, so we get 10% profit.

Our prices will mostly be over the costs of production and manufacturing, cost-based pricing, so

consumers will rely on our website and services for even cheaper prices. Its also more authentic when

consumers deal directly with the creators of the battery chargers. This cuts out the middle man and

makes shipping a whole lot easier, faster and cheaper. As for markups, we will try to mark up prices of

ready-made products of good demand to 5-10%.

We will utilize price lining on different categories of products such as cameras, smart phones,

basic phones, cars, and others. To stimulate sales for certain categories, we will set a high, low and

medium price on our website. The odd/even pricing technique will be used on all products, so it gives an

    illusion of getting a discount.

  • 7/30/2019 DECA Event ENW Electrica U - Christine

    25/32

    23 | P a g e

Custom-made products will be set at 115% of the price, so we get 15% profit. For custom-made

products, when not purchased in bulk, it would be more expensive because we pay extra attention on

one or two products. If a consumer were to buy multiple, we would give them a discount of 10% their

total price when they purchase more than three products and 15% on more than five products. For ready-

made products, there will be an increase of 5% discount increments for each package of products; this is

    for our retailers.

Electrica Us battery chargers are known for its patented ingenious technology and high quality,

so to compensate with all those positive aspects of the battery chargers, the pricing will always be

compromised. Prestige pricing technique will be used for our high-quality patented Electrica U battery

charger technology; being advertised as high-quality, super efficient and innovative products will bring

in profit from our consumers. There will be seasonal sales when sales are going slow, and there are also

more benefits, as in more discounts, when they are online with our website. The beta testers from the

product development process are able to purchase the products at 80% of the price, so we lure in people

who would serve as beta testers, and we also give them discounts.

We will also have promotions on our website to encourage more consumers to purchase from us

and not from retail stores. This will expose the potential consumers with all of the information of the

business and expose them to more of our products. Consumers who have already registered on the

website get 5% off on every product (excluding the first-time buyers promotion); when they purchase

products from us with over 100 dollars a year, they will get a bronze membership, which will give them

a 10% discount instead of 5%; when they purchase from us with over 250 dollars a year, they will get a

silver membership, which will give them a 15% discount and a free gift; when they purchase from us

with over 500 dollars, they will get a gold membership, which will give them a 25% discount,

opportunities to be involved in our product development process and free samples and gifts . Our first-

time buyers promotion on the website is that first-time buyers, and we will find out if they are first-time

buyers when they register with an account to get to pay only 100% of the price, so they get 15% of the

original price. There will be a timer of 24 hours to order a custom-made battery charger, and within 24

hours, they will get 20% off the original price, which totals up to 95% of the price. This will encourage

visitors to register on the website, which will also allow us to add them onto our emailing and mailing

list, so we can inform them of the discounts, sales, new products and information. In the long run, this

will work really well because of mere exposure effect, a psychological term for liking something after

being exposed to it more than one time.

When we sell our products to retail stores, we will be selling them at 120% the cost, so we can

fight back with 110% of the cost on our website. During sales, we can settle with just 100% of the cost,

so we break even. With our top-notch quality battery chargers, its already amazing to cut down 10% on

the custom-made products prices, which will have discounts when sales have been going slow. There is

no custom-made battery charger program out there because they do not our patented technology.

These numbers are made possible with our ready-made products and custom-made products. Our

ready-made products are distributed and sold in bulk to stores like Kohls, Lowes, IKEA, Costco, BJs,

Sears, and other home furnishing, department and warehouse stores. We will also have a catalog sent out

to those who have registered onto our website and to those in areas we find are hot spots of our target

markets. With our products distributed to those large-scale businesses and catalogs, we will be able to

expand more than just our target market: mothers, families, single adults, businessmen, and anyone over

the age of 18. We can encourage those under the age of 18, which will increase those numbers in the

income statement and cash flow statements, by hosting energy contests asking teenagers to submit their

ideas on how to conserve energy, so the winners would receive some of our products as this would

promote the name Electrica U and what we are subliminally in their minds.

With our ready-made products original price of $10 and selling to distributers at the price of

$12, we would make $2 for each product, and in bulk, we would be selling each package 5% cheaper to

encourage bulk purchases. Custom-made products, depending on the customized features, are priced

    from $10 to $25.

There are very high growth rates and great scaleability of Electrica U because in this century,

and in the future centuries to come, more and more people are being wary of the environment, and they

would like to save more money and energy, so Electrica Us battery chargers are the way to go. As a

venture capitalist, you will own 45% of Electrica U. We have hired reputable employees, designed final

prototypes of our starting line of products, created all marketing materials, initiated contract deals with

retail stores, set up our e-commerce website, and all administrative processes, but we need capital to run

our manufacturing process and factories. It is very simple for the venture capitalist: with our request of

$10,000,000, we will pay you back in full over time, and if we fail, which is highly unlikely, we will

give you 45% share of this business, which would give you a 726% return on investment only in the first

year. That number will increase in large increments over the next following years.

    B. Proposed Plan to Meet Capital Needs

CEO Christine Wong has contributed $300,000 as the CFO, CTO, CMO and CLO contribute

with $125,000 each. We have a term loan of $300,000 from Bank of America Merrill Lynch while

repaying with interest rates of 8%, which we will pay back monthly with $14,661.10 to fully repay them

back within two years. These contributions and loans have helped us fund for employment, prototype

designs, marketing material, retail store contract deals, website, and all administrative processes.

Electrica U, with its huge opportunity in scalability, will be able to become an extremely profitable,

innovative and remarkable business. Our request for an investment of $10,000,000 from you, the venture

capitalist, will be paid back in full through a 45% share of Electrica U with more say than any other

shareholder; being a shareholder will give you over 726% in return only after one year.

    VI. Conclusion

With your investment of only $10,000,000, Electrica U will blossom into an intensifying

business with escalating numbers of profit. This rare door has opened, and the opportunities are endless.

Not only will you get over a 726% increase only in the first year, but you will be getting a lot more say

than other shareholders in this revolutionary business that will monopolize the energy industry. We will

bring in more attention to the energy industry, conserve more energy, and preserve the Earth, step-by-

step with one purchase one at a time.

In case of acquisition, Electrica U will sell for 1,163,403,760 in six years, and your stake in the

company will be worth $523,531,692, which is 52,353% return on investment.
