Husband and wife Frans and Liz Roskam took charge of this estate in 2005. Frans is from a family that has been making wine since 1937; Liz is the first American woman to have graduated in Oenology from the University of Bordeaux (Class of '05). Both reside at Ch La Lauzette, which is part of the Domaine Roskam. The consultant oenologist at the estate is Eric Boissenot, who consults at a great many cru classé estates including Lafite, Latour, Mouton and Margaux. Haut-Medoc Rouge Appellation: Haut-Medoc. Vineyard: 12.7 Ha. well-drained alluvial gravel terraces and deep clay. Grape(s): Merlot (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (40%). Harvest: By hand. Vinification: De-stemming, temperature-controlled fermentation, 22 days/25º C. Aging: 33% Aged for 12 Mo in French oak barrels. Production: 3,600 Cases/vintage bottled.
