ST. STANISLAUS PTAF TEENCLUB CROSSFFIT

CONFERENCE 2017: Last weekend, December 1-3, our teen club participated in the 56th Annual Pallottine Teenage Federation Conference. What an amazing weekend! 30 teens and adults from St. Stanislaus join teens from all over the Archdiocese to share their Faith. As always our teens made us very proud. There was no lack of pride, enthusiasm or excitement from our teens. These kids, ranging in age from 12-19, cared for each other, encouraged each other, and shared the joy of being together. Words can not express our pleasure and pride in these wonderful examples of Evangelization. A Great Big Shout Out to Garrett Linnane, who was this years Conference Chairperson. This is a very big responsibility and Garrett handled it with confidence and humor. Awesome job! At this Conference we also said goodbye to Hope Andrews, outgoing PTAF President, and Apryl DeMild, outgoing PTAF Program Chair. Both young women served PTAF well and with extraordinary dignity, efficiency and grace. We are lucky here at St. Stanislaus to still have them working here in the parish with our teen club and in our Faith Formation classrooms. We also have to thank Rachael Nazak for serving as last years PTAF Day Chairperson. It was a great day and she did us proud. We also need to acknowledge Veronica Keene who is taking on the role as the 2018 PTAF Day co-Chair and Samantha Schucker, 2018 Respect Life Co-Chair. Both of these positions are vital to PTAF and we know our girls will serve us well. So many thank you’s are necessary. First and foremost, thank you to our Pastor, Fr. Backes. Father is always a support to our teens, as he showed by coming to Conference to hear Confessions on Saturday morning. Also, none of this could happen without the help and support of our adult advisors. Thanks to Dawn Andrews, Michele DeMild, Shannon Linnane, Carmella Newman and Kevin Tighe. Thank you for giving of your time, sharing your Faith, and being examples for our kids. Thank you to the parishioners who stepped forward to help cover some of the cost of conference. Your generosity never ceases to amaze me. Last but not least, we need to thank the parents of our great teens. Thank you for trusting us with your children, and thank you for your support. You should all be proud of these wonderful young men and women.

NEXT MEETING: Our next teen club meeting and CROSSFFIT (7th & 8th Graders) is Sunday, December 17th from 12:15-2:30. Great fun is planned, so bring a friend.

CHRISTMAS SLEEPOVER/ICE SKATING: Our annual Christmas Break Sleepover will be Friday, December 29th – Saturday, December 30th. More details will follow.

MARCH FOR LIFE – WASHINGTON DC: Once again, St. Stanislaus will be joining PTAF to March in Washington DC to support Life. We will be leaving on Thursday evening, January 18th, after school, and will return Saturday night, January 20th. If you are interested in attending, please call Andrea Tighe in the parish office.
