Dear Friends and Supporters, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Only Won & I jumped back into ministry this year after taking most of 2013 off to have our little Caliya. We were able to minister to dancers, writers, musicians, volleyball players and politicians. (On the next page you can check out the highlights). The big news, of course, is about my new album. It’s been a four-year journey and now Love & Discovery is done! Your prayers and support through this has meant so much. If you were a sponsor for Phase I-Recording of the project, you will be getting your copies of the CDs if you haven’t already. Be sure to look for your names in the Thank You notes. The official release to the public won’t be until Feb/Mar 2015 so that there’s time to promote it to the general market. Now here’s where the work really begins and I wanted to share with you plans for PHASE II. PHASE II – MARKETING AND OUTREACH Now that Phase I is done, we want to reach as many people as we can. My first single, “I Feel Alive,” is inspired by Romans 6 and about being alive in Christ. However, it’s a very mainstream dance club song with universal uplifting lyrics. The strategy from the beginning was to market it to the mainstream and not just churches. Think of the impact this could have on millions of people who attend clubs every night around the globe. We will be hiring top talent and experts on the secular side to help us with that goal. We also see these relationships as a ministry opportunity. You can reach the unchurched by partnering with us on the following. MUSIC VIDEO for “I Feel Alive” - $4000 I’ll be shooting a new music video. Costs include location expenses, equipment rental, dancers, editor, cinematographer, crew, makeup & wardrobe. I’m trying to keep costs low but still make a high quality video. The cinematographer I’ll be using has previously worked with Michael Jackson and others. He’s doing us a big favor and not charging his normal rate. BILLBOARD DANCE CLUB CHART PROMOTION - $6000 Our goal is to see “I Feel Alive” land on the Billboard Dance Chart alongside mainstream artists. To do this, we will hire one of the top dance promoters and have the song played by DJs across the country. My producer, David Longoria, has had success with other artists using this strategy because he has existing relationships with influential DJs and promoters. By gaining credibility in this way, it will lead to more live performances and interviews in secular arenas. *CD LISTENING PARTIES & ALBUM RELEASE CONCERT - $6000 Beginning in January, we plan to host three different Listening Parties and one red carpet Album Release Concert to introduce members of the press, talent bookers and other strategic partners to my music. I will perform a few songs as well at these parties. Costs include food, drink, venue and musicians. LUNAR NEW YEAR PERFORMANCES - $3,000 I will be performing at numerous Chinese/Lunar New Year events in January/February across the country (SF, DC, Ohio and others). Most of these festivals have limited budgets so we’re raising supplemental funds to cover travel to different cities, musicians and related expenses. We see this as a huge outreach opportunity as many of these festivals draw thousands of people. MARKETING & PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS - $6,000 Costs include revamping my website, printing new promo postcards, posters and producing some promotional videos.
