Dick and Sally Jo arrived early on picking days to put out signs, get the picking site ready, and stayed afterwards to clean-up and discard the bad fruit. During picking, they supervised Master Gardeners as they gleaned out berry crops in hopes to prevent diseases and hosting sites for insectaries who nest over the winter (such as the spotted wing drosophila ), and collected money for the picked berries.
