In this heartwarming film, Sister Margaret and Sister Scholastica arrive unannounced and determined to build a children’s hospital in the small New England town of Bethlehem. To build it, the sisters recruit various townspeople, negotiate with a bookie for the land and contend with a songwriter who’s set against the project.

Social Justice Book & Film Club Monday, Dec. 9 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm Henkelman Room | For Adults The Library’s Book & Film Club will watch Harlan County, USA. In 1973, when the Brookside coal miners voted for the United Mine Workers union, the Duke Power Company refused it. Barbara Kopple documented the struggle between the miners and the company, causing a big uproar. A discussion will follow the film.
