The God of the universe took on

human skin, that of a little baby.

The King of kings chose to be born to a young virgin, risking shame and ridicule.

The one true God forfeited His heavenly realm to be born in a manger ,amid the dirt and dank of a stable.

And why did He do this ? …Because He is a covenant –keeping God.

“But you Bethlehem Ephra-thah,though you are small among the clans of Judah,

out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from old, from ancient times.

He will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. And they will live se-curely, for then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth And he will be their peace…..” Micah 5: 2, 4- 5

And down through timeless Time ,this Unchanging God has been keeping His vows to man.

The incarnation was a step to cru-

cifixion ; the crucifixion was a prel-ude to resurrection ; the resurrec-tion gives us the sustaining pres-ence of the Holy Spirit till we go to mansions prepared for us by Jesus Himself.

Christ has come. Christ is here. Christ will come again. Emmanuel, God with us.

What a precious promise to hold on to as we enter another year !

God is as close to us as the beat of our hearts and the inclination of our prayers. But sometimes goals & tasks and the annoying way the world collides with our lives can keep us from realizing His near-ness. We forget that we are in His family. We forget that we belong to His kingdom.

God wants us to reflect on Emman-uel. To hold, yes cling to His prom-ise : God with us. That is why God sent His Son.

Spiritual Awareness week and EHA Golden Jubilee Celebration

We are glad that Pastor Vinod Abraham came to The Duncan Hospital and shared from God’s word for the spiritual awareness week.

Highlights of the week were:

1. A call of Jesus Christ

When Jesus came to this world he went through all kinds of painful situations yet He always had the kingdom per-spective before him. We also should have the kingdom perspective before us and see what God sees.

2. It is a necessary to act with faith and take steps in faith. Risky faith :we should be risk takers and go to Jesus to see great things in our lives. The extraordinary faith of the wom-an with bleeding disorder defined her life from others.

3.Great commission The lord has given us authority to fulfil his great commission. We have to obey his com-mandment and preach the gospel so that all people will be saved. This will not happen by our own strength. We depend on the Holy Spirit to direct our words and actions to impact others for Christ.

4. Restoring relationship between our fellow brothers

Paul navigated the relationship between Philemon and Onesimus very carefully. He stood in the gap between them; he brought about a reconciliation by talking lovingly and firmly.

5. The role of the Holy Spirit

In our ministry the work of the Holy Spirit is very essential because it is He who strengthens us to share our testimo-ny with others. We cannot live a holy life without the Ho-ly Spirit.

6. Kingdom of God

Whatever we do we should do with kingdom perspectives because we have Gods calling. No one should be left out. We need to work for God’s kingdom so that his kingdom will be established.

7. Promise Land-

God has given us the promised land but we need to go in and possess it, but we need to have a different spirit so that our thought and life will be entirely different from others. When God sees us , may He see us like great men of God, Caleb and Joshua. Listen to the Lords call and be ready to go to that land which is not in our control.

Each day, sessions were conducted with the nursing team, administration department, paramedical, support staffs and community health department on various topics. Family seminar was also organized for a day. It was indeed a refreshing time both spiritually and socially.

The nursing staff along with family and few nursing students attended the CMAI conference at

Hyderabad. It was good experience for the team.

IN STEP WITH THE MASTER!

Spinal Cord Injury Conference

The 4th spinal cord injury mela at the Duncan hospital was organized on 13th -14th No-

vember with the support from the Spinal foundation organization. Almost 23 participants

from Bihar and other states had actively participated in this event. The purpose of this me-

la was to encourage and educate the people with spinal cord injury. Medical checkup was

done by Dr Samuel Barnabas ( consultant PMR from Herbertpur Christian Hospital) fol-

lowed by health teachings and group discussions. The other resource persons (all wheel-

chair users) from the spinal foundation organization were a great source of inspiration as

they spoke about the real life issues in living with spinal cord injury. Most of the partici-

pants had attended this mela for the first time hence lots of questions had been raised and

answered. We thank God for enabling us to be a part of this journey of transforming lives.
