December 2020 What an outstanding way to close out what may be the worst year in our lives! We held two flea market weekends in November to great reviews and outstanding attendance. It seems we have drilled into a real need/desire in the community for weekend flea markets since the Wagon Wheel and Mustang markets closed earlier this year. Over the two weekends, we hosted almost 100 vendors, almost 3,000 shoppers, the band that played at the Wagon Wheel for over a decade and a fine food truck! We had Fox 13 out at the first weekend and Bay news 9 for the second. We are learning as we go, but this one looks like a real winner all around. We have two weekends scheduled for December – 5 & 6 and 19 & 20. Would you consider helping us spread the word to your families and friends in the area. We are open from 8a til 2p. We expect to have at least 60 vendors for both weekends, SoundWavz band and food trucks. Parking and admission are free. Vendors can access a vendor application at https://minnregeventhall.com/flea-market-vendor/ We give away door prizes every hour and a good time is promised to all. • Minnreg Christmas Party Please mark your calendars for our Christmas party at noon on December 16 at the Minnreg Hall. This is going to be a great way to celebrate the season and say goodbye to a horrible year! You are encouraged to deck yourself out in your holiday best to spread the good cheer of the season. We are featuring a great meal (yes, Virginia, there is a free lunch!) Tune up your singing voices for a Christmas singalong (may include something about a Hippoppotamus.) Bring out your favorite holiday sweets to share if you can. Best of all, put on your dancing shoes so you can celebrate to the tunes of SoundWavz. Lots of prizes and other surprises (maybe Santa?) Please let us know if you are able to join us in person so we have an idea of the number of meals to order. RSVP to Mary Reffelt ([email protected]) by Wednesday, December 9.

When we launched this idea, we had some feedback that it was not really a “flea” market. That, apparently, indicates yard sale type merchandise. That’s not what we are about with this market. We want to be able to give local vendors the opportunity to sell their goods and services directly to customers. So we are re-branding the flea market to local market with an explanation of what it’s all about. You can find a flyer for the local market in this edition of the newsletter. Please feel free to print it out and share it with your local family and friends. We need vendors and shoppers, so please help us market to both.

We are trying this concept on Wednesdays (Dec 9 and 23) to see if there is an appetite for fresh produce and other foodie items on Wednesday mornings. We have included a fresh market flyer in this edition of the newsletter so you can share it with your family and friends. We need vendors and shoppers, so please help us market to both. These events are extremely important to the future of our presence in the hall. Let’s pull together to make each a roaring success heading into 2021.

Leadership Installation Banquet Save the date! Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at noon. We will have details at the December meeting.
