research work in current areas of Electrical Engineering and
multi-disciplinary streams. The department has well
equipped labs with the state of art software, hardware and
machineries.
The faculty members are constantly publishing technical
papers in national and international journals and
conferences. Also, they are involved in consultancy activities.
The department is fortunate to have dedicated teachers,
devoted students, and committed supporting staff and expert
technical staff.
Specially, I congratulate my students to participate various
extra-curricular activities, research work and competitive
exams. My best wishes to all for their bright carrier and

Tech Article: The rise of an EV’s in
India
Transportation is essential to modern living. Economic
growth allowing countries to trade goods and communities to
connect with one another. The electric car also known as elec-
tric vehicle uses energy stored in rechargeable batteries
which are reserved by common household electricity. By 2050
the number of people living in the cities could double as the
world population passes 9 billion and number of cars could
double from 1 billion today.
Indian government initiatives for electric vehicles: In
2030, the Government of India launched the national electric
mobility mission plan (NEMMP) 2020. The plan aims to
achieve national fuel security by promoting hybrid & electric
vehicles in the country. To fast track this development the
government launched the faster adoption & manufacturing of
electric vehicles scheme under NEMMP 2020.
Electric cars are expensive because of their lower pro-
duction rate due to less demand and much expensive batter-
ies are used due to light weight and small size.
EV’s available in India (December 2018):
• Mahindra E20 Plus
• Mahindra e Verito
• Audi A3 e-Tron
• Tata Tiago electric

Business in electric vehicles (EV’s), Goenka remarked,
“Today EV is one of the biggest opportunities that we have in
India.” , last year EESL( energy efficiency service limited).
An energy service company of the government floated tender
to produce at least 10,000 vehicle cars to phase out govern-
ment vehicles in New Delhi. The tender was awarded to lead-
ing automobile players that are Tata Motors and Mahindra.
This year the company will again float a tender for 10000
more vehicle.
Electric vehicle function on Lithium ion batteries
which are costly as it has to be imported. Experts explains
that about 80% of that core components including the battery
& battery management system in an EV are imported by
domestic players. Battery are made locally it will further re-
duce the price of this vehicles charging stations are also being
planned and setup across the country.
As Kiran Kumar, former Chairman of ISRO in another
business event mentioned that as ‘EVS are expected to enter
the market in the near future, we at ISRO have developed
the lithium ion battery technology which involves more than
26 processes. Today we are making use of these batteries for
launch vehicles as well as for satellites. however a large
amount of work still needs to be done to make it available for
the automotive industry.’
India is changing. So with the advent of numerous new
technologies & innovation in the EV, there are numerous op-
portunities are on the rise.

Non Tech Article: “Surgical Strike”
We sleep because they are awake, we live because they die.’ A set
of society, which breathe and bleed nation, the army, is the only
reason of our peace. Anybody thought if they could ever disrupt
somebody’s peace?
Gun-loaded hands, veiled faces, armed bodies, that’s how
they enter. But what they do, is much more horrifying than it
seems. A yellow-black sky and the red earth is all they leave be-
hind.. Surgical strike is a well planned militant affair of crossing
the borders of a nation and destroying the military forces, camps
and arms, where there is no or minimal harm to the common peo-
ple and rest of the surrounding structures and public utilities.
One such step of taken by Indian Army, was by against Pakistan
on 28th and 29th September, 2016. The year of 2016 was a year
which would be remembered for its historic decisions of demone-
tization. Since the great divide of 1947, Pakistan has always
sought for ways to attack our nation. But the events leading to
surgical strike can be dated back to 18th September 2016 when
four Pakistani militants attacked Indian army at Uri-base in
Jammu and Kashmir. It was Jaish-e-Mohammad Fidayeen group
of Pakistan who planned the attack causing 19 deaths. Later, on
21st September, India gave a protest letter to Pakistan High
Commissioner Abdul Bassit regarding the involvement of Paki-
stan in those attacks. It in turn, back-fired India as Pakistani
defense minister blamed us of carrying Uri attack to grab the at-
tention from protestants group in Jammu and Kashmir.
Later on 22nd September, Director General of Army, Lt
General Ranbir Singh briefed the particulars of the operations to
be carried out, to P.M. Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Mano-
har Parikkar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The oper-
ations began at 12.30 am when the commandos of Indian Army
were dropped at Line of Control (LoC). As claimed by India, dur-
ing the surgical strike, 7 military launch pads were destroyed
and 38 terrorists and 2 Pakistani soldiers were killed. All the In-
dian soldiers returned safely, except one who accidently stepped
on a land mile.

Pakistan claimed that there had been no surgical strike conduct-
ed at LoC by India. It also had a negative impact on the film in-
dustry, encountering a significant uprising amongst the citizens
on the issue of casting Pakistani actors despite the tension across
the border. Again after couple of year On 14 February 2019, a
convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel on the Jammu Sri-
nagar National Highway was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide
bomber at Lethpora (near Awantipora) in the Pulwama dis-
trict, Jammu and Kashmir, India. The attack resulted in the
deaths of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and
the attacker. The responsibility for the attack was claimed by
the Pakistan-based Islamist militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed.
On 26 February, twelve mirage 2000 jets of the IAF crossed
the Loc and dropped bombs into Balakot, Pakistan. On 27 Febru-
ary,PAF conducted an airstrike into J&K in retaliation for the
Indian airstrike the day before. Both Pakistan and India agreed
that no damage was caused by Pakistan's airstrike. However, in
an ensuing dogfight between Indian and Pakistani jets, an Indi-
an MIG_21 was shot down over Pakistan and it’s pilot captured.
Pakistan released the pilot on 1 March.
In today’s political scenario, every country is trying to
strengthen their powers hoping against the odds. The question
that when would the havoc come to an end is yet to be answered.
Or will it ever terminate?
A nation with no terrorism, extortion, black money, mur-
ders is a dream day for every citizen. Peace and harmony is yet
the ultimate desire of every being. No matter how justified the
cause is, the destruction which these attacks create on either side
of the border could never be reasonable. Proving your superiority
by the medium of bloodshed is just an act to quench your own
thirst. At end of the day, what one aspires from life is immense
happiness, peace, and satisfaction, away from all the ferocious
acts of the human. If every civilian adhere to it , keeping in mind
that sole meaning of life is to serve humanity then the world
would be a happy and peaceful place to live in.
