DECEMBER CHRISTMAS OFFERING

BJ Lahr 760-945-3750

A very special Christmas Offering -- a gift for our Lord. This

year, your Christmas offering will be divided equally in four

areas:

1 – Coffee Fellowship Cart & Equipment -- RBTS will be

building a shade structure outside the sanctuary for which

we will be having a more “permanent” coffee cart with

equipment. Your donation will allow us to purchase those

items and be able to enjoy a much nicer outdoor fellowship

area.

2 – Support for the youth program – the confirmation

class will again be traveling to the district youth convention

in March – your support will help to offset the cost of $165

per person. Additional funds will be used for other youth

activities and to outfit the lounge with supplies.

3 – Lutheran Malaria Initiative (LMI) – one child dies

from Malaria every 60 seconds. 1 million people die each

year from a disease that is both preventable and treatable.

LMI is working in communities to control malaria including

proper diagnosis and prompt medical treatment. They do

this through –

Education – educating families on the causes, symptoms,

treatment and prevention of malaria

Treatment – Increasing access to affordable medical care

and resources for malaria prevention

Prevention – provides treated bed nets to families and

trains them on their proper use. Every $1 helps save a life.

100% of funds go to Malaria programming in Africa. Visit

lutheranmalaria.org for more information!

4 -- Benevolent Fund – RBTS keeps a fund to help those

in need – both within our congregation and outside. We are

able to assist more people in more ways as funds are

available. In 2012 we helped people with gas, food,

automobile expenses, and more -- $1,244.23 – what a

blessing to be a blessing to those in need!

Use your Christmas offering envelope

or one found in the back of the pews

through December!

Worship~Grow~Serve

At REDEEMER BY THE SEA, we want to be a LIGHTHOUSE

to our community and the world! We do that by concentrating our efforts in three areas: Worship – Grow – Serve. In worship we encounter and receive the light of Christ through Word and Sacrament. Then we fan into flame and grow that light within us through study and fellowship with the Body of Christ. Equipped and encouraged, we then serve our community and

the world with the light of Christ shining through us to them!

How can we enjoy a great gift? The greatest spiritual gift that

blesses our lives is God’s gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. The

Him.” Luke 11:13

*SR. HIGH YOUTH GROUP Patrick Clauder 760-458-3796

Who are you?

Our world values being unique. So much so, that we end up looking the same as we try to be different. But we aren't a number.

We aren't our clothes, our relationships or our

accomplishments. In Christ we are much more.In these four

thought-provoking youth Bible study sessions, Eric Mason

compares the message the world constantly tells teens about

their identity with the truths found in Scripture. The world

tells us it’s all about how you look, what you have, what you

do, and whom you are connected to. But Scripture teaches

that while those things can be important, they do not

constitute who you are. As followers of Jesus Christ, our

identity is found in Him.With biblical teaching and real-life

stories, this series will help students ground their identity in

Christ and live boldly as children of God and heirs of heaven.

Sessions cover:

– Image– Choices

– Relationships– Accomplishments
