Planet Ark and the Australian Circular Fashion Conference (ACFC) have teamed upto promote a more sustainable fashion industry

ACFC will be held in Melbourne on March 21 2019 and calls on fashion industryinsiders and new entrants alike to find ways to turn the rag trade into the circularclothing economy

GREEN ROOF WORKSHOP

Last week I had the pleasure of attending a Green Roof Workshop at the UoMrsquosbeautiful Burnley Campus The heavy downpour only added to the experience as wewere able to see the green roof actively capturing and utilising the storm water aswell as touring the Living Green Roof amp Nursery

The Burnley Living Roof is set amongst 9 hectares of heritage listed gardens whichinfluence the level of biodiversity

We heard from six accomplished researchers about their engaging findings acrossthe below areas

Appropriate SubstratesThermal ComfortSpecies SelectionWater Sensitive Urban DesignUrban Heat Island EffectBiodiversity

The true cost of an asset like a green roof goes beyond the dollar value of itsconstruction the Life Cycle of a Green Roof provides a much greater return oninvestment
