Dear Division 23 We are almost a month into 2013 and that means that there are even more opportunities to perform community service and raise money for different causes In this issue please pay attention to the section on LTC the Booklet of Merits and the paperwork update Please take a look at the Booklet of Merits Please take some time to read through this newsletter carefully Let me know if you have any questions Yours in friendship and service Josh Hill Lt Governor

Did you know that the New York District of Key Club International has a website Well yes it does And itrsquos filled with all the information you need to succeed in Key Club and make your club even stronger It also helps you get to know your District Board and so much more If you have time take a look and browse around and subscribe to the District (e-mailing) Mailing List httpnydkcorg

This may not seem like the most pressing issue for people in our area anymore as the damage has already been cleaned up and taken care of but many people on Long Island are still hurting and suffering from the aftermath of the storm

There are ways you can still help the many families who are in

need of support especially as the bulk of the snow for 2013 hits the Northeast United States Perhaps the easiest (and one of the most effective) ways of helping is by making a donation to the New York District Kiwanis Foundation Please let me know if your club or anyone you know would like to make a donation

Leadership Training Conference 2013 Also commonly known as LTC is the annual conference in which 700 members of the New York District of Key Club International gather to celebrate the year of service and excellence they just helped out in creating While there you meet many new people and forge many new friendships It is always exciting to see all the new people and sometimes see some old friends there is never a dull moment when it comes to the 3 day event in March (specifics are below) The conference includes workshops dances social sessions entertainment rooming meals general sessions and above all an experience you will never forget I cannot describe in words all the wonderful experiences you will see you have to see it to believe it Once someone leaves convention they leave with a smile that will not leave for hours after attending you will have a new found appreciation for Key Club trust me Check out the conference website for more info httpconferencenydkcorghomehtm Who all of New York District Key Club (advisors and members alike) What Leadership Training Conference (one of the greatest conferences you will attend ever) When March 22-24 2013 Where Holiday Inn on Wolf Road in Albany NY Why Itrsquos a fun experience and something no Key Clubber should ever have to miss out on How contact LTG Josh or your advisor ASAP for information Registration starts soon and space fills up fast Cost $260 per student (3-4 studentsroom (same gender)) $310 per adult (2 adultsroom (same gender)) $500 per adult (1 adultroom) The price is not meant to discourage you from attending Ask your advisor on an appropriate way to pay for convention they have all the information for this

In the coming couple months it should be time for some of you underclassmen to think about running for higher office Lieutenant Governor This is the position I have held for the previous 2 terms and I have enjoyed every minute of it This position includes travelling to Albany for meetings (expense free on your part) e-mailing the clubs going to District and possibly International Convention and much more It is a very fun experience that I hope someone does not miss out on it I have heard from multiple advisors who have suggested some of you This is open to all underclassmen especially those with a passion of helping other Let me know if yoursquore interested by February 4th District Secretary This position is in part like the club secretary however they are also in charge of the District Directory and collecting and compiling the totals and MRFs from each club District Treasurer This person helps with the dues process and organizing the FRF information that comes in and work with the administrator when coming to FRF monetary information
