Santa’s Helpers NeededBy Janice Lynch

Like it or not, the holidays are upon us. With the hustle andbustle of last minute shopping it is sometimes nice to take thetime out and do something for those less fortunate then you.

On Saturday, December 24 (yes... Christmas Eve Morning) at9 am volunteers are needed to assist Sacred Heart Church andHeart of Camden Housing Corporation in distributing over 1,000food baskets for the poor. After a prayer of Thanksgiving and asong or two, the volunteers are given a map, load up their carsand set off on what can only be described as a bizarre scavengerhunt to deliver all the makings of a holiday feast in some of themost poorly marked blocks and houses in Camden.

Sacred Heart Church is located at 1739 Ferry Avenue,Camden, NJ 08104 (where it intersects Broadway Ave). Comeearly and park as close as you can since a peach basket full offood and a frozen turkey can get surprisingly heavy. Werecommend that each car or truck should have 2 or 3 people init since someone should stay with the car while others navigateand deliver the baskets. Coming by yourself is not a problem, just come a little early and see me so I can find you someone topair you up with. I can usually be found near the doordistributing the maps with a funny hat on.

No need to RSVP, just show up. If you get lost, call my cellphone 856-816-2865, but leave a return number. Reception isspotty at best in 100-year-old stone church basements.

It usually takes until about noon to deliver the baskets. Just beforewarned... You might have fun and feel good about yourselfafterwards. If you have further questions, please just call me at856-858-6411.

Fall Line Ski Club’s ‘official’ European trip takes us to theBRAND NEW destination of Cortina D’Ampezzo (“Queenof the Dolomites”), a world-famous winter resort that rivalsany other in the Alps. The Dolomiti Superski offers 800 milesof pistes, 460 lifts and 457 interconnected pistes with plenty ofoff-piste skiing. Cortina encompasses 70 miles of runs on threeseparate ski complexes: Cortina (including Cristallo, Faloriaand Mietres), Tofana and Lagazuoi/Cinque Torri with freeshuttle buses linking the areas. The Tofana Express, a new 6-seat chairlift, takes you swiftly to the higher and moretechnically challenging runs, like Canalone and the famousSchuss.
