Check it out at www.hscatholic.tv.

We are looking for additional adults for operating the church camera system and Livestreaming the Mass. If you know of some adults who would be interested in learning the system and taking this on as their ministry to Holy Spirit, please let us know. The person would not have to commit to every Sunday. Many people have said that what drew them to the Catholic Church was the Eucharist. As we reflect on recognizing Jesus in the Breaking of the Bread, think for a moment whether there is someone you could invite to Mass and to explore what else the Catholic faith might hold for them. For information, contact Cathy Madrid, RCIA Director, at (913) 492-7318 or [email protected].

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd What is Catechesis of the Good Shepherd?

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a method for the religious education of children with presentations based on the Sacred Scrip-ture, liturgy and the educational philosophy of Maria Montessori. This method was developed through the work of Sophia Cavaletti with chil-dren themselves. It is based on the conviction that God and the child are already in relationship; the task before us is to help the child deep-en that relationship. How are CGS catechists trained? CGS catechists receive a lot of training before leading a CGS class. Catechists find their own spiritual life grows as well as the spiritual lives of the children they serve. We are always in need of new cate-chists and assistants.

KEEPING OUR YOUTH CONNECTED to the CATHOLIC FAITH Newman Connection is a Catholic organization, endorsed by the Archdio-cese and Holy Spirit, wherein students are connected with Catholic institu-tions on or near their college. When students are involved with campus min-istry, they are more likely to keep the faith the rest of their lives. The first two weeks on campus are critical for student outreach. All we need is your student’s name, home address, phone number, college, campus address and e-mail address. This infor-mation will be used for the sole purpose of inviting students to visit campus ministries. Call George Lents, 913-492-3239 or e-mail at [email protected] for additional information. WOMEN of SPIRIT With enriching our parish as our goal, WOS offers opportunities for women of the parish to get to know one another, create friendships, and grow as a par-ish family. We welcome all women! We are creating a year of events and would love for each of you to use these times to get to know your fellow pa-rishioners in a fun-filled, spiritual environment. If you have questions or need a ride to any of our events, please contact Terri Kilgore at [email protected] or 913-206-6994. Women of Spirit events, activities and news can be found on Face Book where you can request to join our closed group or on the Holy Spirit Church website: www.hscatholic.org located on the Community tab. Happy Hour -- Join WOS as we celebrate the beginning of summer at John-ny's, 95th & Antioch on Thursday, June 1st from 5:00-7:00 pm. Marian Medal has a long standing presence at Holy Spirit parish. This year marks its 23rd year. The young ladies in the 7th grade have had the oppor-tunity to strengthen their relationship with our Blessed Mother and to come to know her role as their spiritual mother and super (role) model. They have attended monthly meetings with local speakers learning about the

power of the rosary, the miraculous medal and dedication to Mary, the mother of Jesus. They have heard life experiences from local speak-ers which have cultivated their personal virtues to hope to imitate Mary’s example. They have done acts of charity and spiritual devo-tions. They have compiled a notebook and journal to keep adding to as they continue their journey. Congratulations to the following:

Anna Bartkoski Mary Grace Cahill Bridgette Conner Rose Cooper Hailey Colvin Lauren Ellwanger

Claire Gassel Alexa Gomez Ella Gregovich Hannah Homburg Isabella Hudson Nora Ley

When it’s hardest to pray is when you should pray hardest.

the phone call you hoped you’d never get.

the funeral, when everyone has left and the emotions you’ve held at bay come crashing in on you.

the relationship falls apart and the bottom falls out of your life.

the doctor says, “I’m sorry, but there’s nothing more we can do.”

the nursing home director shakes your hand and says, “Welcome to your new home”.

the baby arrives, demanding more of you than you ever dreamed possible.

your family and friends have heard your story one too many times, but you still need to talk it out.

Stephen Ministers are the After People. They are ready to come alongside you—or your friends, neighbors, coworkers, or relatives—and provide comfort and support for as long as needed.
