PermaColor® Quartz Granules are ideal for seamless architectural floor coatings, whether screed or trowel applied polymer slurries, broadcast systems or self-leveling formulations.

About ESTES Quartz Granules PermaColor® Quartz Granules are made from pure silica sand or quartz. Silica, a hard, abrasion-resistant and chemically inert mineral, is ideal for use in flooring. High density silica is the preferred mineral to enhance the properties of seamless flooring. PermaColor® Quartz Granules are translucent, allowing color to transmit through the particle, as well as reflecting from surface. Estes high performance polymer coating creates a stable bonding surface ideally suited for many type of architectural resin systems.

Mixed with a wide selection of decorative aggregates and trowel applied to a 1/4” to 3/8” nominal thickness, K-Poxy® Epoxy Terrazzo System provides outstanding durability and wear resulting in the lowest life cycle cost of any flooring system available.

Typical Uses: K-Poxy® Epoxy Terrazzo System is ideal for almost any area where a monolithic, heavy duty floor surface is needed. Our system does not support bacterial growth and its sanitary, joint free surface makes it an optimal choice for hospitals, schools and health care facilities. This also allows for ease in cleaning and maintenance. K-Poxy® Primer/ Low Modulus Binder is a 100% solids, moisture tolerant epoxy primer for concrete, wood, and masonry surfaces. Combining water insensitivity with good wetting properties, K-Poxy® Primer is the ideal for use in any of our K-Poxy® Epoxy Terrazzo Systems. K-Poxy® Primer provides excellent filling and sealing properties needed under high performance epoxy coat-ings or epoxy floor systems. In addition, it provides an excellent high strength, weather resistant bond. The moisture tolerance of K-Poxy® Primer allows it to be applied to damp concrete after surface preparation. This includes bonding “old to old” and “new to old” concrete.

KEY Resin’s #635 MVT® is a two component modified epoxy system designed to seal concrete and reduce moisture vapor transmission prior to applying finished flooring. Our product has proven to reduce moisture vapor emissions and be resistant to damage from high alkalinity. #635 is an environmentally friendly material containing no hydro-carbons or other solvents making it zero (0) VOC. Meets USGBC LEED certification requirements.

Key Advantages: • Reduces moisture vapor transmission rate through concrete• Resistance up to 10lbs MVER on the Calcium Chloride Test (ASTM F-1869-11)• Resistance up to 90% RH on the RH Probe Test (ASTM F-2170-11)• Provides excellent resistance to highly alkaline conditions• Can be rapidly surfaced with a variety of finished flooring materials

Key Resin #635 Moisture Vapor Treatment/MVT®

KEY EPOCON SL (EPOCOAT) is a moisture vapor control system utilizing KEY EPOCOAT technology, a unique water based epoxy which allows the contractor to install epoxy resin floor systems and other moisture sensitive floor coverings on new concrete (5 days old) without fear of moisture entrapment. KEY EPONCON SL is applied in a two coat application. KEY EPOCOAT is the primer/base coat used in KEY EPOCON SL.

PLEX-A-BOND thin-set terrazzo conforms to the National Terrazzo and Mosaic Association (NTMA) specifications.

PLEX-A-BOND Acrylic Additive is a concentrate liquid binder that can be used as a bonding agent, leveling coat and curing compound to ensure bonding. Polymer modified cement builds strength into cement based mixes. The proper cement/polymer ratio can increase compressive and flexural strength as much as 33% to 42%.

PLEX-A-BOND is a water dispersion of an acrylic polymer, specifically designed for modifying Portland cement compositions. Application areas include patching and resurfacing, floor underlayment, terrazzo flooring, and industrial cement floors. Cement modified with PLEX-A-BOND exhibits superior flexural, adhesive and impact strengths which are most desirable for thin sections such as terrazzo.

The PLEX-A-BOND modified cement terrazzo system meets all standards of the National Terrazzo & Mosaic Associa-tion (N.T.M.A.). PLEX-A-BOND is furnished in a concentrate form and must be blended at job site (1 part water: 2 parts PLEX-A-BOND).

Terrazzo Rollers are used after chips (marble, glass, etc.) have been spread over freshly poured concrete. The roller is designed to push the chips just under the surface of the concrete. Once the concrete has cured, it is time to grind and polish.
