Donald MacAulay asked for the appointment of a P.R.O. in the absence of Jim Spence. Referred to Committee. John Milne asked if all Members subscriptions were paid up to date. This was confirmed by Robert Henderson. There was a discussion on the level of subscription compared with other clubs. Dickon Hovell proposed that the committee be asked to consider Associate Memberships at £2 p.a. John Milne proposed and Alan Middleton seconded that the annual sub should be raised to £12. Innes Lovie made the counter proposal that the subscription should remain at £10. Catherine Stanbridge seconded. On a show of hands the counter proposal won 12:6. The sub. stays at £10.Ian Jamieson is to see if an increase in subscription would affect our application for a ScottishSports Council grant. (Too high a sub. is considered to exclude some people from gliding.) There was a discussion on temporary visitors and a question on the cost of Monthly Membership was referred to the Committee. Ron Angus invited Alan Middleton to attend Committee meetings. Alan agreed. There was a lenghty discussion about the proposed strip. It was disclosed that five contractors have been asked to quote for the strip. Only one had offered to do the job for £7,600 +VAT. The County Council cannot give a quote but would like to do the job. We hope to start on June lst. There being no further busimess the meeting closed at 8.55p.m.
