Del Mar Race of the Day Analysis optixeq.com The feature stakes race on the Sunday card is the Grade III Rancho Bernardo Stakes. This race features three fillies and mares that will all be a short price, and two as major contenders. One of those is the winner of this race last year #4 SKYE DIAMONDS (9-5). She is positioned in Quad IV as a Square and will be running from othe pace with the strongest late kick in the field. Her main challenge is the new face in the scene #3 ANONYMITY (8-5) a very formidable foe as a large Square in Quad I. ANONYMITY is the fastest early, capable to clear from any early challenge and as a Square will be running on late. From that perspective she is the main challenge to the returning champ SKYE DIAMONDS and the one she has to try and run down late. Both #2 YUVETSI (8-1) and #6 MOONSHINE MEMORIES (3-1) will be tasked with trying to run with ANONYMITY in the early stages. However, neither of those fillies are fast enough to run with her early and as Circles lack the type of kick needed to run her down late. Should they try to engage early, they can be vulnerable late to the closing kick of SKYE DIAMONDS. Longshot #1 TURKISH TABBY (15-1) looks a bit overmatched with her position on the PLOT. Compared to her competition she lacks the positional early speed, and unlikely to hold her position as the large Circle. East Coast invader #5 DEER VALLEY (12-1) is a bit of a wild card. She has spent the majority of her career sprinting on the turf and running at shorter distances. She has only one race in a graded stakes race and that was over a year ago. Given her position on the PLOT an underneath spot looks to be the limit as both ANONYMITY and SKYE DIAMONDS look stronger coming into this race. limit as both ANONYMITY and SKYE DIAMONDS look stronger coming into this race. The feature stakes race on the Sunday card is the Grade III Rancho Bernardo Stakes. This race features three fillies and mares that will all be a short price, and two as major contenders. One of those is the winner of this race last year #4 SKYE DIAMONDS (9-5). She is positioned in Quad IV as a Square and will be running from off the pace with the strongest late kick in the field.

QUICK TIPS

• OptixPLOT is a graphical representation of the anticipated pace of the race (i.e., race shape).

• The most reliable/interpretable races have a GREEN PlotFit.

• Individual horses are represented either by SQUARES (strong finishing ability) or CIRCLES (less-than-average finishing ability).

• QUADRANT 1 (early pace) horses win the highest percentage of races.

• SQUARES (late-pace horses) win nearly 2x more than CIRCLES. The larger the SQUARE, the stronger the finishing ability of the horse.

• CIRCLES in QUADRANTS 3 & 4 have a very low win-percentage. Large CIRCLES indicate horses with weak finishing ability.

• An OptixPLOT with a High Contention (flame) and a SpeedRate >= 40 typically favors SQUARES in QUADRANTS 2 & 4.

• An OptixPLOT with a Low Contention (snowflake) and a SpeedRate <= 15 typically favors QUADRANT 1 horses.
