PROVIDE A PRIMARY AND SECONDARY AIR AND WATER SEALAROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE UNIT. USE BACKER RODAND SEALANT AT BOTH THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR EDGEOF FRAME.

IN FIN INSTALLATION USE A PRIMARY SEAL TO SEAL THE UNIT TO THE EXTERIOR FINISH MATERIAL. USE A SECONDARYSEAL TO PROVIDE A CONTINUOUS BEAD OF SEALANTBEHIND THE INSTALLATION FIN BEFORE SETTING THE UNIT IN PLACE OR SEAL FIN WITH WATERPROOF TAPE.

CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL EXISTING CONDITIONSPRIOR TO ORDERING MATERIALS OR PROCEEDING WITH NEWWORK IN AREAS AFFECTED BY EXISTING CONDITIONS. THEDESIGNER SHALL BE INFORMED IN WRITING OF CONFLICTSBETWEEN EXISTING AND PROPOSED NEW CONSTRUCTION.

BACKERBOARD INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1. ALL DIMENSIONS ARE TO THE FACE OF MASONRY OR FACEOF STUD UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.

THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DESIGNING,FURNISHING, ERECTING, AND REMOVING ANY SHORING ANDBRACING REQUIRED DURING CONSTRUCTION, INCLUDINGBRACING REQUIRED FOR SIDES OF EXCAVATIONS DURINGFOUNDATION CONSTRUCTION.

ALL CONDUIT AND PIPING SHALL BE CONCEALED AND SHALLNOT BE RUN EXPOSED. ANY CONDUIT OR PIPING LEFTEXPOSED SHALL BE MOVED AND HIDDENED WITH THEFINISHES AT THE EXPENSE OF THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR.

THE CONTRACTOR IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL SAFETYREGULATIONS, PROGRAMS, AND PRECAUTIONS RELATED TOALL WORK ON THIS PROJECT. SAFETY REGULATIONS SHALLBE FOLLOWED STRICTLY.

ALL DIMENSIONS TO WINDOWS AND DOORS LOCATED INMASONRY WALLS ARE TO THE MASONRY OPENING. ALLDIMENSIONS TO WINDOWS AND DOORS IN METAL OR WOOD STUD WALLS ARE TO THE CENTERLINE OF THE OPENINGUNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.

GAP AT WALLS - LEAVE A 1/4" GAP BETWEEN THE PANELEDGES AND THE WALL.

APPLY FIBERGLASS TAPE - TO THE JOINTS WHERE ONE ORBOTH EDGES ARE SQUARE CUT. EMBED THE TAPE FIRMLY INTHE WET THIN-SET.

WHERE CONSTRUCTION TOLERANCES ALLOW FORVARIATIONS IN LOCATION, SIZE, ETC. OF STRUCTURALELEMENTS, IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THECONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE ALL MATERIALS AND LABORNECESSARY TO MODIFY CONNECTION ELEMENTS ASREQUIRED TO PROVIDE A FINISHED PRODUCT WHICH IS INACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE DRAWINGSAND SPECIFICATIONS. ANY SUCH MODIFICATIONSREQUIRED SHALL BE REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY THEDESIGNER PRIOR TO EXECUTION.

THE DESIGNER SHALL BE NOTIFIED AT THE PROPER TIMEWHEN ITEMS ARE READY FOR FIELD REVIEW. SUFFICIENTNOTICE SHALL BE GIVEN TO ALLOW SCHEDULING OF THEFIELD REVIEW.

ROUNDED PANEL EDGES - REQUIRE NO TAPE REINFORCING.SIMPLY FILL THE JOINTS WITH THIN-SET WHERE BOTH PANELEDGES ARE UNCUT.

9. REFER TO WINDOW AND DOOR DETAILS FOR WINDOWS ANDDOORS.

FOR FIRE EXTINGUISHER CABINET (FEC), MOUNTING HEIGHTSAND DETAILS THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER CABINET (FEC) DETAIL.FIRE EXTINGUISHER CABINETS ARE TO BE PLACED SUCH THATTHEY DO NOT INTERFERE WITH REACHING ACCESS TO OTHERWALL DEVICES SUCH AS LIGHT SWITCHES, THERMOSTATS,OUTLETS, ETC.

THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COORDINATION OF THE EXACT SIZE AND LOCATION OF ALLFLOOR AND ROOF PENETRATIONS WITH MECHANICAL,PLUMBING, AND ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR'S WORK. ANYCONFLICTS SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT TO THEATTENTION OF THE ARCHITECT FOR RESOLUTION PRIOR TOPROCEEDING. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDEAND COORDINATE THE PREPARATION OF COORDINATIONDRAWINGS FOR ALL TRADES. SEE SPECIFICATION.

NEW STORAGE ROOMS SHALL HAVE BUILT IN SHELVINGUNLESS NO SHELF LINES ARE SHOWN ON THE PLAN FOR THESPACE.

ALL NEW WOOD DOORS AND HOLLOW METAL DOORS ANDFRAMES SHALL BE PAINTED. ALL EXISTING DOORS SHALL BEPREPPED AND PAINTED.
