The State of Chhattisgarh is conducting the Measles Catch-up Campaign as part of the National Immunization

Programme. All children aged 9 months to under 10 years will be vaccinated regardless of previous vaccination status or

history of measles like illness.

Measles is highly infectious diseases caused by virus. An estimated 50000 to 100000 children die from measles annually

making it one of the leading causes of child death in India. Measles can be prevented by immunizing children with two

doses of measles vaccine which is safe and effective. A catch-up campaign offers a second opportunity to ensure

population immunity against measles. The aim of the campaign is to cover 100% of the targeted children.

Under the campaign, the departments of Health and Education are partnering with schools to bring students and teachers to

jointly participate in the campaign. The measles catch-up campaign will be conducted in schools from

1-10th

December, 2011.

All parents are requested to join hands with the Govt. in this National Immunization Programme. You are requested to kindly

send the duly filled-in and signed NOC given hereunder through your ward by Wednesday, the 30th
