  • WAR CRY WILBUR SMITH

That time is upon us. I can feel it coming. I fear for us all

Set between World War I and II, a Courtney saga novel, War Cry by Wilbur Smith takes you on a roller coaster ride with big-

game hunter Leon Courtney and his daughter, Saffron who by her demeanour shows that she is not the one to be taken lightly.

The tomboyish, spirited, girl grows up under the watchful eye of her father on their sprawling Kenyan estate. Her name is

known far and wide for her splendid horsemanship and the grand family that she is born into. But suddenly, Leon and Saffrons

lives are turned upside down as a result of a family tragedy. Leon is left to simultaneously take care of the Courtney family

business and protect himself and his family from danger during the waging war against Hitler, while Saffrons love for

knowledge and adventure leads her to England, where she witnesses the various events that led up to World War II. Far away

from Saffron, Gerhard von Meerbach, born into an aristocratic family in Germany is struggling to save those near and dear to

him, on the other hand, is forced to serve the Fuhrer. He is enrolled into the German secret air force, the Luftwaffe, and finds

himself being ordered to kill those he loves. Leon, Saffron and Gerhards lives collide, but fate seems to have something else in

store for them. Finding themselves at crossroads, the three are left to decide which way they want to go, fighting for their

country, or fighting for their hearts.

THE SECRET TO TEEN POWER BY PAUL HARRINGTON What this power is, I cannot say. All I know is that it exists. For a person who has a secret ambition, a dream, a passionate desire or goal but has no idea how to make it real, this book is a must read. The Secret to Teen Power by Paul Harrington is life changing. The author exemplifies relationships, friendships, school work, self-esteem and more in such a way that the reader cannot help but half-hope, half-believe and completely fall for the idea that maybe what they desire can be achieved. All one has got to do is discover the secret. Just follow the three main steps- ask, believe and receive- and see what lifes got in store for you; as well as experience the enriching feeling that your most passionate ambition may truly be achievable after all! THE MURDER OF ROGER ACKROYD BY- AGATHA CHRISTIE If you like an orthodox detective story, murder, inquest and suspicion falling on everyone in turn, then The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is for you. This classic book, that has worthily earned its fame, can be undoubtedly termed Christie at her best. The man who knew too much killed, the woman he loved, took her life with a drug overdose after successfully poisoning her first husband and then having Poirot solve the whole mystery with quick wits and deep thinking- a crime couldnt get any better. I personally believe that if you havent, then give yourself the time of your life and relish the ever-so intelligent storytelling and also pay your tribute to the Queen of Crime, whos left us all enough books to last a lifetime! RICH DAD POOR DAD

    BY - ROBERT KIYOSAKI

No, it is not a book on a rich dad and a poor dad or a child of a rich dad and a child of a poor dad. It is a self-help

book which focuses on financial literacy. Earning money or making excessive money is always regarded as a

vice. Financial literacy is important because it teaches you how, when, where to invest your money which in

future earns you a profit. This book also classifies things into assets and liabilities. It says that you should ponder

wisely before putting your money into a commodity, what youth of today generally do not do. I highly

recommend this book to those who want to opt for commerce in future or want to start up their own business.

This book will give you strong but simple techniques/methods to use your money well.

confidence and pride and arrogance. I have tried my best to recognize that difference and do justice to the work given to me.

And in the process, I have realized the amount of hard work teachers put in to make us successful. I now bow my head even

THE BALLAD OF A BIRD A mighty bird there is

    A bird with glorious wings

    It hasnt taken a flight

    Of which the canaries sing

It puffed and huffed its wings in pride

Their use well it would know

O! The mighty wings with the brilliant

    sheen

Were just waiting for the blow

But when the time came to flap its pride

There came a twisted turning point

    The bird rose to fly

But before it could its wings were shot

    alred

Still it tried but all alas

    A disappointment it was said

O! All the good creatures told it

The sky wasnt worth its wings

But the bird knew deep down inside

    A disappointment it was still

    A shame, a pity, a disappointment it

    was

    Nothing more nothing less

And then came the soothing moonlight

As if it came to bless

And in that light the bird rose up

It had to do something it must

It had to swing, it had to sway

It had to be a swift

No matter how much it hurt

For Hurt was what it did

It hurt and hurt for days on end

It did not cry or say

After a stretch of hellish time

It would look at the sky and say

Here I fly and it flew so high

Even the sky looked up that day
