I. 1st Satellite Event, Malmö, Sweden

1.1 Objective of the event

The objective of the event was to identify, and discuss high-level, as well as day-to-day level needs within the healthcare organisation, match those discussions with the innovation system representatives available and present the framework of Cross4Health and how those needs would be addressed within the project. Participants had been selected, and invited, based on their expertise and position within the regional Healthcare giver organisation, primarily focusing on individuals responsible for systemic/strategic tasks on medium-long term needs and challenges. The event was split into two parts. After listening to Innovation Skane initial presentation, of its expertise, responsibilities and presentation of the Cross4Health project, the group was seated in groups, and allowed time to discuss and note perceived strategic, as well as day-to-day needs within the healthcare organisation. These needs were listed and, at the end of the exercise, presented to the rest of the group. The next exercise consisted of prioritizing the needs in terms of two factors,

- What would be the financially added value of “solving” the specific need

- What would be the quality of care-added value of “solving” the specific need.

2.1 Objective of the event

The objective of the event was to identify, and discuss operational level, day-to-day level needs within the healthcare organisation, present the ideas/solutions of the participating SME´s, and match those discussions with the innovation system representatives available and present the framework of Cross4Health and how those needs would be addressed within the project. Participants had been selected, and invited, based on their expertise and position within the regional Healthcare giver organisation, primarily focusing on individuals responsible for operational, day-to-day tasks on short- to medium term needs and challenges. The event was arranged using the results from the first event arranged by IS as starting point. Thus, the selected and to participants pre-communicated theme of the workshop was as follows: Optimized patient journey

- Patients with multiple diseases

- Patients with chronic diseases

- Individualized care

- Cross-disciplinary work

Participants with a professional, or patient-wise, relationship to those specific topics were invited to the event. The event was split into three parts. After listening to Innovation Skane initial presentation, of its expertise, responsibilities and presentation of the Cross4Health project, the invited SME´s presented their solutions and thoughts and how those address generally agreed upon challenges within the healthcare sector. The group was then seated in groups, and allowed time to discuss and note perceived day-to-day, as well as strategic, needs within the healthcare organisation. These needs were listed and, at the end of the exercise, presented to the rest of the group. The next exercise consisted of prioritizing the needs in terms of two factors,

2.1c Results of the satellite event

See below identified challenges, ranked by priority in terms of innovation impact

Challenge Examples

Information management, between healthcare organisations

- Secure data transfer between healthcare organisations

Preventive care and patient support

- Individualized learning platform adapted to diagnosis/patient capability

Patient management process, logistics support

- From triage most symptoms can be detected and (probable) appropriate series of measures suggested. This real-time logistic support leads to improved patient flow with suggested high probability discharge times and allocation of resources as better understanding of input+output through caregiver system is achieved. - This can also be improved for efficiently scheduling planned procedures, where several resources are required (e.g. surgery).

Information management, within caregiver

- Remote consultations of remote resources (ex. lab analyses, diagnostic imaging, senior diagnostic/advisory consultants)

Information management, caregiver <-> patient

- secure communication channel caregiver <-> patient

Individualized care

Local patient analyses, technical

Improve culture of success stories, spreading

III. 3rd Satellite Event, Bochum, Germany

3.1 The Rationale

The first European Cross4Health Healthcare hackathon, Innovate.Healthcare was held at the University of Bochum, Germany as part of the Cross4Health project during the 07th to the 09 of December 2018. The objectives of the hackathon were to: Introduce the Cross4Health project and explain how it will help innovative entities to disrupt the health markets Provide the basis for teams to work on idea creation in a highly stimulating environment Encourage and speed up the development of innovative health solutions Provide ‘outside the box’ views and approaches on healthcare challenges Engage stakeholders and key actors (SME’s, entrepreneurs, start-ups, hospitals, universities etc.) Help SME’s to position themselves for the upcoming Cross4Health Open Call The event demonstrated cooperation between stakeholders form the Healthcare value-chain and the industry by transferring technology and know-how for the benefit of personalized healthcare. The Ruhr Regional Development Agency, the City of Bochum and the University itself have provided us an essential support. Innovate.Healthcare was not only a competition, but also an opportunity for SME’s to get guidance, develop their solutions and come up with new ideas.

3.2 The Format

We organized the hackathon in collaboration with a partner Healthcare Futurists, from Cologne, specialized in the organization of hackathons in Germany. As a result, we have adopted the format proposed by the latter. In the past we had been able to attend the last hackathon organized in Cologne. We were able to observe the progress of a hackathon, the proposed format and the challenges involved. The experience of our partner in the organization of this type of event as well as our network allowed us to recruit quality participants, as well as professional speakers whose help brings to the participants during the event was more than precious. These various experiences have made it possible to allow the participants to achieve a lot of value over the 48 hours. In addition, the image from our project Cross4Health has been consolidated.

3.3 The Hackathon Challenges

All ideas developed during the Innovate.Healthcare hackathon had to fall within the overall Cross4Health objective: Aerospace, Energy and Creative Industries as Catalyst for Biotechnology, ICT and Medical Devices for Health Innovation.

In addition, the teams had to address at least one of the following challenges, proposed by the Cross4Health Project:

Page 18: Deliverable D3.3 CROSS4HEALTH Midterm CROSS4HEALTH … · 2020. 7. 24. · PROJECT Nº H2020 - 731391 CROSS4HEALTH Deliverable D3.3 CROSS4HEALTH Midterm CROSS4HEALTH Events Report

18

3.3.1 Early Detection and Diagnosis

Remote monitoring. Benefits involve enabling patients, within high-risk groups, to a

higher degree going about their ordinary lives with fewer doctor visits, while at the same

time providing security and safety in the acute situation. E.g. EEG measurements for

early seizure detection.

Remote monitoring/self-testing. Risks involve precise enough methods to assure quality,

while benefits include fewer doctor visits and improved ability to detect and treat

sickness at an earlier stage. E.g. At home self-testing for urine protein indicator

detection connected to Uremia, within high-risk groups.

Remote monitoring. Providing reliable diagnostic measurements in an emergency

setting is difficult, since most measurement methods have been developed for a clinical

setting. E.g. Hypothermia detection. Research show that e.g. inner ear measurements

provide a reliable indicator for core body temperature. A solution for use outside of the

clinical setting would substantially improve patient safety in emergency care.

3.3.2 Remote Patient Support

Patient support. Lifestyle app/platform for preventive purposes specified per condition/diagnoses/identified high risk group. Encouraging individuals to understand how lifestyle adjustments lower the risk for severe disease in the long-term, is beneficial both for the health care system, and for the individual patient. E.g. a way to target preventive care with lifestyle adjustments is through encouraging methods, such as gamification.

Patient support. Failure to adhering to suggested treatment results in risks for the individual as well as reduced efficiency in the health care system. Platforms for encouraging adherence increases health care efficiency for the individual patient as well as for the health care system. E.g. Easily accessible platform/app for increasing adherence of patient to treatment.

Rehabilitation, assistance at home. It is expected that “smarter”, more individualized, tools for assistance and rehabilitation at home will improve treatment consistency and quality for patients, while also reducing the need to regular physio visits.E.g. Solutions may include assistive tools supporting the daily life of patients with physical/cognitive limitations, as well as products targeting patients undergoing treatment for injuries.E.g. Individualized tools for personal use, e.g. VR, robotics, exoskeletons.

3.3.3 Patient Management Process

Logistics support. From initial triage the resulting assessment/diagnoses can use data from a real-time logistic support which through care guidelines and big data modelling can with high probability predict internal patient journey, with treatments and diagnostical events, but also estimated discharge time for the individual patient. This improves planning and patient flow and better understanding of input and output through caregiver system.

E.g. Since accumulated data can present better understanding of input/output through caregiver system, better use of proper allocation of resources can be suggested accordingly.

Page 19: Deliverable D3.3 CROSS4HEALTH Midterm CROSS4HEALTH … · 2020. 7. 24. · PROJECT Nº H2020 - 731391 CROSS4HEALTH Deliverable D3.3 CROSS4HEALTH Midterm CROSS4HEALTH Events Report

PROJECT Nº H2020 - 731391 CROSS4HEALTH

19

E.g. an extension to the described example could also integrate, add collaborative interfaces, between different of levels of health care providers, such as between specialist care, primary care, and home care.

Diagnosis/decision support. With the use of e.g. AI/big data and/or national care guidelines, from triage most symptoms can be detected, and appropriate diagnosis measures suggested. This may result in improved standardization of assessments and generally improved efficiency.

3.11 Lessons Learned

Whether for its organization, the challenges proposed and supported by the participants, the majority of participants provided a very positive feedback. The Cross4Health project has benefited through this event from a wide communication in the media (see annex III). The biggest challenge was the recruitment of participants because the hackathon took place at the end of the year just a couple of days from Christmas holidays and during a weekend (privileged format in Germany). What we have been able to learn will allow us in the context of a possible new hackathon in Germany to take in charge the complete organization without having to refer to a subcontractor like Healthcare Futurists GmbH.

4th Satellite Event, Oslo, Norway

4.1 The Rationale

The third European Cross4Health Healthcare Hackathon, Hack4Health was held at the University of Southeast-Norway in Kongsberg, Norway as part of the Cross4Health project during the 23rd and 24th of January 2019. Sunnaas Hospital and Vestre Viken Hospital trust were invited to present their real-life challenges within the continuum of care for the SME-led teams participating to tackle during the two-day event. Telenor participated as an enabler of new and disruptive technologies and gave insight on how their new 5G network will enable new solutions for healthcare in the future. Hack4Health was not only a competition, but also an opportunity for SME’s to get guidance, develop their solutions and come up with new ideas. The idea of doing this with both business coaches and the challenge owners available enables the team to build sustainable solutions that there is a real need for.

4.2 The Format

We based Hack4Health on the concept of a service jam, with the intention to understand, ideate and create based on the challenges proposed by Sunnaas Hospital and Vestre Viken Hospital Trust. The participants were encouraged to come with an open mind to explore the opportunities within the challenges and ideate potential solutions and business models, both from scratch and as further development of their already existing solutions. We brought in MIT Hacking Medicine to bring their experience from similar events all over the globe. For the Hack4Health event, we brought MIT Hacking Medicine with their expertise on carrying our healthcare hackathons and similar events on a global scale. Bringing in the MIT Hacking Medicine team we added value for both challenge owners and the competing teams with their hackathon methodology, moderating and coaching. With their guidance, the teams were able to leverage the two days together with the challenge owners in a great way and improve their pitch to the jury. Also, the chance to work with a global actor from a major university were attractive for participants when signing up for the competition. The Norway Health Tech team also have experience on hosting events like this on a European level, and together we brought a solid concept to add value for both our challenge owners and the SME-led teams competing for the prizes.

Page 42: Deliverable D3.3 CROSS4HEALTH Midterm CROSS4HEALTH … · 2020. 7. 24. · PROJECT Nº H2020 - 731391 CROSS4HEALTH Deliverable D3.3 CROSS4HEALTH Midterm CROSS4HEALTH Events Report

PROJECT Nº H2020 - 731391 CROSS4HEALTH

42

By basing the event design for Hack4Health on our previous experience with service jam events and design thinking, we gave another dimension to the exercise. With this structured methodology, we allowed the 80 participants to achieve a lot of value over the 2 days. In addition, Cross4Health as a project have built a solid image as an attractive partner for both SME’s and other stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem.

4.3 The Hackathon Challenges

All ideas developed during the Hack4Health hackathon had to fall within the overall Cross4Health objective: Aerospace, Energy and Creative Industries as Catalyst for Biotechnology, ICT and Medical Devices for Health Innovation.

In addition, the teams had to address at least one of the following challenges, proposed by two hospitals trusts:

4.3.2 Continuous Dialogue Throughout the Patient Pathway

Currently, patients in need for a follow-up receive it in predefined intervals (6 or 12 months). Actual patient needs though, might be present right before or after the visit, which leads to a mismatch of needs and service. In addition, not all patients need to be physically present at the hospital in order to do the follow-up.

To avoid the mismatch and long waiting times, to customize the service delivery and to reduce costs, a technical solution for the continuous dialogue is needed.

4.3.3 Home Monitoring and Treatment

The goal is to offer patients with chronic diseases such as COPD, diabetes or necessary rehabilitation, that require repeated hospitalizations, the chance to stay at home while providing them with professional health care.

Therefore, user friendly medical and monitoring equipment is needed as well as a secure way to share data and communicate. Reduced hospitalizations and readmissions will be a financial incentive for both the hospital and the municipal health service.

4.3.4 The Challenge Owners

Rehabilitation Hospital offers multidisciplinary rehabilitation to patients with complex functional impairment following illness or injury. The hospital’s full continuum of care focuses on community re-entry, which for many people means returning to home, work or a supported, community living environment. Vestre Viken Hospital trust is composed of the hospitals in the municipalities Bærum, Drammen, Kongsberg and Ringerike, as well as the local medical centre Hallingdal sjukestugu. On top of this they are also offering a complete range of treatment services within the field of mental health and substance abuse. The two challenges from Vestre Viken was posed by two different departments: Pre-hospital services and Clinic Kongsberg Hospital with support from Kongsberg Municipality. Each of the challenges was presented and lead by a representative from the challenge owning hospital to elaborate the need and desired solution attributes more detailed. Beforehand, each hospital held an initial presentation about the structures of their organization. The slides of the challenge presentations can be found in Annex II.

In addition to Sunnaas and Vestre Viken, we invited a representative from the Norwegian Centre for e-health Research to shed light on the overarching perspective for the hackathon; the continuum of care.

4.4 Program

Throughout the two days, the teams had the chance to engage with the challenge owners as well as meet the mentors first in a structured and further on in an ad-hoc manner. The table below illustrates the thoughts behind the detailed planned agenda, which can be found in Annex I. The intention was to create a good atmosphere for the teams to focus and concentrate on developing their creative ideas but also to provoke certain breaks to support the social and networking aspects of Hack4Health.

44

The pizza-pitch during the first day was inspired by a hackathon in Germany. The idea was to serve dinner on one hand but also to offer a chance to the teams for giving a first feedback to each other. It was a 1-minute pitch and the audience would write their feedback on post-it’s to attach to the pitching person. The feedback was supposed to help the teams during the second day of Hack4Health. The second day was devoted to further pitch-preparation. Therefore, MIT Hacking Medicine together with Hack4Health Mentors offered each team 10min of pitch training to ensure a focus on the right aspects. At the end of the day, the final pitching session in front of the jury was scheduled. Subsequently, the prize ceremony followed, including the first, second, third and audience prize.

4.5 Registration and Eligibility

Hack4Health was open to teams led by small and medium-sized legal entities (SMEs or start-ups) or individual entrepreneurs established in a European or Associated to Horizon 2020 country. Independent individuals could sign up as “Observer” or ask the Hack4Health team for a match-making with already existing teams.

The team composition, except for the SME-leadership role, was open. Multidisciplinary (including individuals with business as well as technical relevant profiles to the hackathon challenges) was recommended and considered during the match-making. Teams had to be composed of 3-6 individuals.

Each team had to address at least one of the proposed challenges while not aiming at pitching a previously developed solution. The aim was to create disruption and to come up with novel solutions.

In order to participate it was necessary for every team member to register online via the Cross4Health Website. In advance we set the maximum of teams to register to 10, and ended up with a total of 8 teams participating in the Hackathon.

4.6 Participants

Eight teams attended Hack4Health, with a total of 31 team members representing a variety of professional fields.

Teams consisted of entrepreneurs, SME-employees, workers from the health sector and students from various fields. There was a good variety of professional expertise with some very seasoned participants with a very good understanding of the healthcare business but also others relatively young and inexperienced. Most teams were pre-formed including some minor adjustments during the hackathon due to an improved understanding of the challenges and on how the participants could add value. One team was newly formed during the first day of Hack4Health.

During the process of the hackathon preparation, a lot of attention was generated around the event and the concept behind it. Therefore, representatives of other national organizations joined Hack4Health.

A good example were colleagues from Innovation Norway (a state agency supporting innovation and internationalization of Norwegian Industry), which attended to observe and get inspired in order to take their own internal innovation workshops one step forward. A representative from NTNU (the largest technical university in Norway) who is planning to organize a hackathon for students in the near future, joined as well.

All participants had to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement prior to engaging in the event.

Participant badges were color-coded, and every participant was assigned a clear role, such as organizer, mentor or part of a team. Mentors were officially introduced to the teams after the challenge presentations. Participants knew who to address when in need of information and guidance.

Teams were formed and worked mostly independently in either the main area, the laboratory or in of the four specifically reserved team-rooms.

4.7 Pitching of Ideas

During the 2nd day of the hackathon, MIT Hacking Medicine gave all the teams a common training in how to pitch their ideas. The teams got some tips on how to dispose their time during the pitch and what they should avoid doing. After the pitch training, each team was given 10 minutes to do a “mock-pitch” with a “mock-jury” consisting of the MIT Hacking Health team together with two business coaches that gave feedback for the teams to work with before pitching to the real jury.

At the end of the second day of Hack4Health (24th of January 2019), the 8 teams pitched their developed solution to a panel of experts (jury) who scored them based on established criteria. Each team prepared a 5 minutes pitch on their idea and presented it to the jury. Thereafter, 2 minutes was accorded for questions by the jury to the pitching team. Most teams used a power point presentation, which in some cases included showing the embedded programmed solution.

4.10 Follow-up and Handing out Prizes The participating teams were free to engage with challenge owners and mentors after the event took place in order to take their idea further. Several of the teams have approached the challenge owners and they are currently working on collaborative projects to further develop and test their ideas.

Especially, Pre-hospital services at Vestre Viken hospital trust, are working on an innovative procurements project to invite companies from the hackathon and others to try out their solutions. The hackathon also sparked interest with companies that weren’t able to attend the Hackathon, which also have established contact with the challenge owners.

As part of the follow-up all teams received the verbal comments made by the jury on the evaluation sheet during the pitching session. In order to receive the monetary support, each one of the three selected teams had to provide a short report (max 10 pages) on how to address the jury recommendations and critical questions when developing their idea.

The prize money was paid, once the report was submitted by the team leader together with other necessary administrative documents.

Furthermore, all participating teams were encouraged to apply to the 2nd Cross4Health Open Call. Unfortunately, neither of the teams managed to compose a proposal with the limited time before the closure of the Open Call.

4.11 Lessons Learned

The overall feedback from all participants was very positive. Hack4Health was a great success for the challenge owners and representatives from the relevant industries. Right after the event took place, several hospitals requested the facilitation of a similar, adapted event and the Norway Health Tech team are exploring the possibilities to build on this in the future. Cross4Health as well as the participating teams and the partners of the hackathon got great attention in the media during both during the event and the following weeks.

For a short summary of the media attention, please see Annex IV – Hack4Health Media Attention.

One of the challenges from the organizational point of view, was the recruitment of SMEs/participants since the event had to take place during the week. Participants had to choose the hackathon over their normal work occupation, which might have been a downside of the event.

Great feedback was given to the choice of the venue, which was located outside of Oslo and therefore attracted different industries and SMEs than the usual candidates in the Oslo region. The event offered a very good networking opportunity and brought challenge owner from the public sector together with innovative, disruptively thinking teams.

Regarding the timing of the event, beginning of the new year was ideal for the challenge owners with new budgets and plans regarding innovation. For the SME’s, this is high-season for application deadlines and reporting, and some of the interested SME’s had to prioritize other tasks over participating in a hackathon. Also, the event was held less than a month before the closing of the 2nd Cross4Health Open call, which gave the participants limited time to develop and send their proposals.

5th Satellite Event, Bordeaux, France

1. The rationale 1.1 Objective of the event

The CROSS4HEALTH innovation Boot Camp was organised in the frame of the Institut National Polytechnique (INP) Innovation Day dedicated to student and SME innovation (Les défis de l’innovation). The objective of the day was to allow students to work on challenges proposed by SMEs (idea search, solution and feasibility study), the CROSS4HEALTH related challenges were included among INP local ones.

During this day, 3 CROSS4HEALTH challenges were exposed to student-engineers in the presence of representatives of companies and managers, with session of questions / answers, creation of teams to answer the challenges, pitches and awards for students at the end of the day.

The student-engineers whose idea were selected will continue to work on a prototype (software / hardware) during their semester for a final oral presentation and demonstration in front of representatives of SMEs.

1.2 Target group

The Boot Camp aimed at mobilising French aerospace SMEs proposing health related challenges that were addressed to students-engineers of the region of Bordeaux. The aim was to create student-SME collaborations that could answer the CROSS4HEALTH call for applications.

The participation was free of charge for both students and SMEs.

1.3 Participants

On the overall 12 attendees participated to the Boot Camp, including 2 SMEs and 10 students contributed to the challenge elaboration in which 10 students answered.

1.4 Venue

The Boot Camp was held in Bordeaux INP premises in Talence (Nouvelle-Aquitaine – France)

2. Agenda

As specified previously, the CROSS4HEALTH Innovation Boot Camp has been organised among the Bordeaux INP’s Innovation Day, in consequence the following agenda corresponds to Bordeaux INP’s event.

9:00 – 9:20 Welcome coffee

9:20 – 11:00 Introduction and challenges presentation

11:00 – 12:00 Allocation of students to the presented challenges – Q&A with challenge bearers

12:00 – 13:30 Lunch

14:00 – 16:00 Working groups with students and SMEs

16:00 – 16:30 Internal selection of most promising solutions

16:30 – 17:30 Pitching of selected solutions / Awards

3. Results of the satellite event

Two SMEs proposed 4 Cross4Health branded challenges to the students:

SpaceMedex

Portable telemedicine solution allowing the monitoring of a maximum of vital signs.

Creation of a nanosat/cubesat network dedicated to emergency communications and/or allowing massive data transfers.

uCareWatches

Intelligent and more comforting alternative to the baby-phone: which materials, software, services to be developed

Modern solution for the monitoring of people in difficulty (ill and old people): resources to be shared and how; acceptability of solution; reward system for helpers.

10 students chose to address them but did not manage to form enough work groups to create competition between different ideas.

4. Lessons learnt

The low number of participating SMEs can be explained by the difficulties we encountered in convincing aerospace actors to propose health related challenges. We managed to get an acceptable number of challenges given that the event was enclosed to a larger manifestation organised by INP Bordeaux.

We encountered as well difficulties in mobilizing students to answer the challenges, as a large amount were proposed in the frame of INP Bordeaux’s event, giving the opportunity for students to have higher prices.

To sum up, we made the choice to enclose our Innovation Boot Camp to a larger event as we had difficulties in mobilizing aerospace SMEs to provide health challenges. The option gave us the opportunity to address our challenges to a large number of students but we had to compete with other challenges offering more attractive prices.

3. EUROB Event 3.1: Keeping and small reshape of EUROB's satellite event of start-ups promotion

For this event EUROB is planning a small reshaping of it, and instead of a unique event devoted to promote CROSS4HEALTH within startups, and as a result of conversations with other INNOSUPs and Spanish coordinators and participants, EUROB intends to organize in the last quarter of 2019 a joint event at national level with several other INNOSUPs projects for cross-health benefit.

This event was initially planned for the last quarter of 2018, but it cannot be possible due to date incompatibilities among the members of the INNOSUP projects. In those dates the CROSS4HEALTH consortium and EUROB in particular, were immersed in the launch of the CROSS4HEALTH 2nd Open Call and in the preparation of the CROSS4HEALTH Madrid Idea Hackathon Contest. In addition, with this event we pretend to show the project results after the acceleration programs and give the SMEs the chance to present their solutions at the most advanced stage of development possible, including those of the 2nd acceleration period.

For this, a one-day workshop will be held in the last quarter of 2019 in Madrid with the objective of presenting and promoting INNOSUP opportunities in the area of health within several different projects (Inclusilver, CROSS4HEALTH, etc.). Each of the different INNOSUP projects will present its current and foreseen activities for health and then later will provide personalized advice to the interested start-ups and SMEs attending. We are also foreseeing the involvement of the CDTI (National industrial innovation agency) for this event.

This event is addressed for SMEs and startups that have been awarded by the different INNOSUP projects and involved in the acceleration processes. We aim to go a step further of the acceleration processes and support the SMEs that own the best and most feasible health solutions. The objective is to show and advise these companies how they can continue their projects, informing them of possible funding opportunities through which they can bring their products to market.

In this event the SMEs will also have the opportunity to present their projects during the Pitch/Demo Session and networking with stakeholders.

Venue: we are in discussion with other INNOSUP projects representatives about the exact

location of the event, but based on our conversations we can confirm that the event will be

held on Madrid (Spain).

Date/month: last quarter of 2019 (final date to be determined).

Event structure (preliminary):

o Presentation of the different INNOSUP projects

o Funding Opportunities Presentation and One-to-One Meetings (INNOSUPs consortium

partners-SMEs)

o Pitch/Demo Session

o Networking Session

In addition to the above commented event, EUROB is working in the concept of another event oriented to bring SMEs working on medical devices closer to different investors. The initial idea is to coincide this event with the second edition of the Investor’s Forum event for health solutions organized annually by EUROB in Madrid. This event is a business-oriented event to help companies in raising additional private financial funds. Our initial purpose is to take advantage of the Investor’s Forum event to bring together different types of investors (private investors, business angels and venture capital risk entities) with young companies whose projects are at different stages of maturity and to involve stakeholders. The event will be held in Madrid around May/June 2020, but the final dates should be fixed in the near future.

This event will be oriented for two type of companies, Mature SMEs or Startups that have been involved in any acceleration process as Cross4Health awarded companies, and Seed Startups that are in an early stage status. During the event the companies will have the opportunity to meet expert investors in the healthcare sector, have one-to-one discussions with them, network with other European SMEs, compete for the best pitch and have the possibility to secure investment deals.
