As a result, elevator reliability and safety have become more and more important. Delta provides various types of compact drives to meet different needs and requirements of elevator builders. All are suitable for machine-room-less applications. The Elevator Drive VFD-ED Series is a slim type closed-loop elevator drive that is equipped with a complete time sequence function specially designed for elevator control. It is easy to use with built-in elevator parameters and functions. The Compact Elevator Drive MH300-L Series is 40% smaller than usual drives with open-loop control function supporting asynchronous motors. The Integrated Elevator Drive IED-S Series integrates elevator control technology and a smart design that minimizes the time and space required for installation and adjustment. Delta's elevator drives are suitable for geared induction motors and highly efficient permanent magnet motors, and provide a high safety standard that supports Emergency Power Supply (EPS) functions.

In addition, when working together with Delta's power regeneration devices, the Active Front End Unit AFE2000 Series or the Power Regenerative Unit REG2000 Series, the regenerative energy produced during braking is converted into reusable electricity, and supplied back to the mains for other facilities to use. Ultimately, these devices can save energy by more than 30%. Delta presents these outstanding elevator solutions, which feature high reliability and durability, save energy, and reduce the space required for installation.

Delta provides energy feedback devices to help elevators saveenergy. The AFE2000 Series and the REG2000 Series feature a power regeneration function that collects regenerative energyand converts it into reusable electricity for other facilities to use. More than just energy saving, implementing the AFE2000 and REG2000 to replace the brake resistor also helps to lower the control room temperature.

Door Control Solutions

Distance Control Mode For encoder applications, this mode precisely controls the door’s opening and closing position via encoder feedback signal.

Speed Control Mode For induction motor applications, this mode executes door opening and closing via 2~4 limit sensors or switch sensors.

Multi-step Speed Control Mode For PLC applications, this mode uses Delta's PLC as a host controller to control door opening and closing in multi-step speeds.

Built-in Door Control Functions

Door Width Auto-tuning Door width is automatically measured and saved as the door opens and closes. It will open and close twice to confirm the door width accuracy. Once confirmed, the measurement is recorded into the drive's parameters.

Smooth Door Curve The door reopens in a reverse direction when a door blockage is detected. The reopening is performed with a smooth curve to minimize the impact of vibration.

Demo Mode Demo mode demonstrates the opening, closing and reversing of the door to ensure the performance and quality of the drive system and the door structure.

Asynchronous (IM) and Synchronous (PM) Motor Applications Compatible with Delta's door control dedicated Servo Motor ECMD Series and other induction motors (signal type encoder that accepts open collector and differential signal with 5, 12 or 24 VDC.)

Door Protection System Passengers enter and exit the elevator with greater safety. When the light curtain and safety panel fail to function, the drive will command the door to re-open as it detects a rise of current caused by the blocked door.

Blockage Detection

4 steps: (1) Precise torque detection at blockage; (2) Door remains at current position for a few seconds; (3) Door "OPEN / CLOSE" time-out; (4) Door forced to open.

Features

The Active Front End AFE2000 Series features excellent harmonic suppression to control the existing harmonics of an inverter system to THD < 5 % at all frequencies and provides high stability to the system. It is suitable for applications that contain electronic equipment with high sensitivity to harmonic distortion and the environment with high harmonic suppression standards, including elevators in hospitals or research centers, and high speed elevators that are faster than 2.5 m per second.

ApplicationsThe Power Regenerative Unit REG2000 Series is a substitute for traditional brake resistors. It converts braking regenerative energy into reusable power and supplies it back to the mains for other facilities to use, such as for lighting or HVAC systems, and provides substantial energy savings. In addition, there is no more braking resistor overheating problem and it keeps the elevator machine room cool. The REG2000 Series is suitable for elevator applications with speeds lower than 2.5m per second.
