1. Start with dry, or damp clean hair.Divide into 4 sections.

2. Apply Colaura Demi-Permanent to re-growth, taking 1/4 inch partings.

3. Apply and fully saturate mid-shaft andends. Process as directed.

Understanding the labelThe level of deposit of ColauraDemi-Permanent color isdescribed with the numbers 1, 2,3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. The letters N, B,V, NC, NW, NR, R, RO, NO, O, GO,and G identify the 12 tonal fami-lies. Colaura Semi-PermanentColor is described with first thename followed by the back-ground color then finally the leveland tone.

Client ConsultationAn essential element to any color service is to conduct a thorough consultation with the client. The following factors are important to consider during the consultation:

n Texture can affect the color’s ability to penetrate the hair shaft.

n Porosity determines absorption and distribution of color along the strand.

n Elasticity helps decide if hair is strong enough to accept color.

n Density helps determine the amount of product needed to cover all strands.

n Chemical History must be examined closely.Relaxers, Permanent Waving, previously color treated hair, and Decolorizing will affect color selection and processing time. To insure accurate results a strand test is recommended.

Mixing and processingColaura Demi-Permanent Color is mixed in a 1:1 Ratioof Aura Energizer 5 or 8 Volume. Always mix in equalparts and use immediately. Standard timing is 5-20Minutes at room temperature. For longer lasting resultsand excellent penetration on resistant hair process 15minutes with plastic cap under a pre-heated warmdryer. Remove cap and cool for 5 minutes.

Colaura Semi-PermanentColaura Semi-Permanent Color is a direct dye whichmeans there is no mixing involved. Standard timing is 25minutes (dryer optional). Colaura Aura IntensifiersColaura Aura Intensifiers is a concentrated pigmentdesigned to be mixed into any formulation to add anintense color reflect. Available in four vibrant shades ofGold, Orange, Red, and Violet they allow for numerouscombinations. Add desired Aura Intensifier shade as25% of your formulation for best results. Processing timeand developer choice will remain consistent to thechart above.

Colaura Sparkle Clear GlossColaura Sparkle Clear Gloss is a high gloss clear demipermanent that provides lasting shine and softness to all hair types. It is ideal for clients who have lost theirnatural sheen due to chemical services such asRelaxers, Permanent Wave, or over processed hair.It may also be used to dilute any of the Demi-Permanent shades to create customized formulationsfor your clients.

Mixing is 1:1 ratio with the 5 volume Aura Energizer, andthe processing time is 20 minutes at room temperaturewith a plastic cap.

Haircolor products can cause an allergic reaction,which in certain rare cases can be serious.To helpreduce the risk of an allergic reaction for you and your client,it is necessary to observe the followingprecautions:

nBefore applying color,perform an allergy test onyour client 48 hours in advance,even if yourclient has previously used a haircolor product.Allergies can develop or worsen suddenly,eventhough your client has been coloring his or herhair for some time.Therefore,you must alwaystest 48 hours before each and every color application.

nWear suitable gloves during preparation,application and rinsing of the product.

nDO NOT USE if your client has reacted to a haircolor product or your client has a sensitive ordamaged scalp.

ALLERGY TEST

1.With soap and water,wash an area the size of aquarter in the bend of the client’s elbow or behindthe client’s ear.Pat dry with absorbent cotton.

2.Prepare a test solution by mixing 1 part of exactColaura Demi shade or mixture of shades to beused with one part Aura Energizer Developer.

3.Apply mixture to the test area

4.Let test spot dry.Do not cover or disturb for 48 hours.If no reaction has occurred you areready to color.
