In this demonstration we show how a typical professional knowledge worker, Samy, can’t get to the office because of a major storm – and there she has a lot due today so the business can’t afford for her work to be delayed.

Demo Title: Prevent Lost Productivity

Demo Storyline

Whether it’s a storm, a sick loved one, or some other unforeseen event, every employee faces a number of days each year where physically getting to the office is a challenge, a safety hazard or just downright impossible. When that happens, productivity is lost – and it costs you. But with Avaya collaboration, business can continue as employees are relieved of their stress and productive again.

In this demonstration we show how a typical professional knowledge worker, Samy, can’t get to the office because of a major storm – and there she has a lot due today so the business can’t afford for her work to be delayed.

Samy turns her home phone into his office phone using an Avaya Mobility Application, Avaya Once-X Communicator. With this application she can be as productive with her communication and collaborations as she normally would be in the office. Perhaps more so since her mind is not focused on navigating the storm outside.

Samy starts by sending an IM to her boss, Jason, to notify him of her situation. She is prepared to get work done as normal and meet company deadlines even though the weather has caused a leak in her roof. She can meet the repairmen when they arrive on her lunch break and still get her work done in her home office.

A normal part of her day is collaborating with Jason, so she can easily escalate the IM session to a call with the click of a button.

As work progresses, others will try to reach her and she can manage these interruptions in the same way she would in the office. She can screen a call, place an active call on hold, and conference people together all with her computer, home phone, and Avaya Mobility applications.

Even though life has thrown her a curve ball, Samy and her business continue on as usual and hit another home run.

Demo Steps

1. Before you log into the Avaya One-X Communicator client, show that users can select from multiple endpoints to place and receive calls. Select “Other Phone” and the extension you have set up as your simulated home phone for the demo.

2. Log in as Samy.

3. On your iPad, log into the Avaya One-X Flare Experience application as the boss, Jason.

4. Go to the contacts tab in Avaya One-X Communicator and find Jason. Note that the presence indicates Jason is available and online. Click on the IM icon to initiate a chat session.

5. Accept the IM invitation and engage in a chat from the iPad with the Avaya Flare Experience application.

6. Next Samy clicks to call Jason and Jason answers the incoming call on the iPad.

7. Now Tanny calls Samy and Samy puts the call with Jason on hold. While speaking with Tanny, Samy IMs Jason to check if it’s OK to add Tanny to their call. Tanny is on the project too.

Jason agrees (by IM message) so Samy pressed the “Conference” button to bring them all together.
