Introduction
Craigavon was designed with demographics in mind. From looking at the brochures promoting the new town from the late 60’s, there are an abundance of statistics which are all aimed to provide ideal living. From this, community would derive however, was this successful? Craigavon has a different sense of community due to the local immigration from surrounding areas. There were households who originated in rural and urban areas as well as those who migrated from afar.

in 1967, Craigavon was an exciting New Town which was advertised a lot through statistics. What’s interesting about the land allocation is the amount of acres reserved for Craigavon’s main priorities. For example, Craigavon was designed with the car in mind and therefore
