Introducing OVC4 The cost-effective Band 3 crown/onlay system.
The One Visit Crown™ (OVC4) enables dentists to create anatomically correct, full coverage restorations in one appointment without the need for expensive CAD/CAM systems.
Finally, a cost-effective Band 3 crown/onlay single visit restorative system.
+ Save more natural tooth with minimally invasive preps + Do less large amalgams and more tooth coloured full coverage restorations+ No need for temporary crowns+ Meets the requirements for UK NHS Band 3+ Innovative clinical procedure is faster than traditional crown procedures (financially rewarding for the dentist and appreciated by patients)

OVC4 laboratory advantages
Why the OVC4 is great for your practice
Two OVC4 restorations can be placed in the time it takes to do one traditional crown.
+ Is an affordable alternative for the private patient+ Is a clinically and aesthetically superior alternative to a large MODBL restoration
The One Visit Crown™ (OVC)+ Uncured sub-layer adapts to the prep while the heat-cured occlusal layer has great anatomy+ Custom-made for all posterior teeth+ Highly efficient technique+ Eliminates the need for temporary crowns and multiple appointments+ No CAD/CAM needed+ 73% zirconia filled hybrid-ceramic material - both top and bottom layer + Excellent aesthetics and blending + Strong yet flexible + Kind to opposing dentition+ High bond strengths + C-factor of 1 so shrinkage vectors are minimal
The McDonald Matrix Band™
+ Tofflemire-like tightness without the downsides+ Unique front-facing tightening mechanism for easy application and adjustments+ Tooth specific contouring - shaped for each tooth+ Does not impede working area
The OVC Wedge™
+ Allows you to build up a deep proximal box+ Anatomically correct surface follows the natural shape of the tooth+ Comes in a left and right shape for mesial or distal placement+ Two sizes - small (green) and large (blue)
Heat-cured occlusal layer
Uncured under layer
The OVC4 process - how it works
At the end of the patient consultation a quick PVS impression is taken of the tooth to be restored, PRIOR to tooth prepping.

for a step-by-step training video.
Light cure and remove the band. Trim and polish the OVC4.
Take a fast-set impression at the consultation appointment of un-prepared tooth and send it to our lab. We will send you back a customised OVC4 with a heat-cured occlusal layer, and an uncured sub-layer, in a proprietary light-proof case with matrix band and wedges. See below for a brief overview of the technique.

OVC4 ideal clinical uses
+ As a superior full coverage alternative to large MODBL fillings and weakened tooth structures+ As an affordable alternative to a traditional dental crown for private patients+ For patients who have previously deferred needed dental crown treatment+ Ideal after root canal treatment to prevent the risk of re-infection+ With the OVC4’s relative affordability - teeth with a hopeless prognosis where a traditional crown is not worth the investment

Rhondium testing compared the incidence of micro-leakage at the tooth/OVC4 interface of 2 curing protocols - spot-curing followed by full occlusal curing versus full occlusal curing only. All restorations were subjected to 500 thermo-cycles (5°C to 55°C) and then immersed in dye for 48 hours. The teeth were then sectioned in multiple slices. Micro-leakage tests were conducted following the OVC4 direct procedure.

What our customers are saying
“This product will change restorative dentistry in a way no other product has done since I graduated dental school in 1989.” Dr. Ben Malabanan Jr Guam
“Having completed over 500 OVC’s, the OVC is a perfect solution between a composite filling and a full zirconia crown. Best of all it’s one visit and you get a strong result with good biomimetic properties that ties in well with fibre reinforced core material obtaining good aesthetics.” Dr. Richard Stallworthy New Zealand
“As dentists we seem to over complicate things. The OVC is outstandingly simple.” Dr. Terry Wong Australia
“A revolutionary single visit full crown procedure that does not require CAD/CAM. Every dentist should try this to see where this fits in their practice.” Dr. John Flucke United States of America
“I’ve had businessmen who are in the dental industry, patients of mine, get out of the chair look in the mirror and say ‘that is the holy grail of dentistry!’ and I just say ‘ah yeah pretty easy really’. People are amazed by them. I like them and they like them.” Dr. Keith Hoolihan New Zealand
“Typically after a treatment with the One Visit Crown, the first reaction I get from a patient is ‘oh, wow was that all?’ It’s pretty surprising for them to be able to get a crown procedure done in 40 to 50 minutes and then walk out of the clinic with a crown, they’re usually pretty ecstatic”. Dr. Sam Koh Australia
