9 Contractor shall use an approved diamond grinder to grind/profile the existing bridge deck prior to installation of the Water-Proofing Membrane. The depth of diamond grinding shall be sufficient enough to remove the existing bridge deck tining. This work shall be paid for under the bid item "Machine Preparation (1/4”)."

10 Use vacuum equipment or other continuous methods to remove grinding slurry and residue. Remove from theproject and properly dispose of the material. Do not allow the grinding slurry to flow across lanes being usedby traffic, onto shoulder slopes, into streams, lakes, ponds or other bodies of water, or gutters or otherdrainage facilities. Do not place grinding slurry on foreslopes.
