ACHIEVEMENTS FOR THE YEAR 2015-16
Skill Development: Imparted “Skill Development & Poultry Entrepreneurship
Training Programme” to 208 beneficiaries of SC, ST, Women & Un-employed
Youth in collaboration with various State Animal Husbandry Department, Krishi
Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Colleges, etc..
Conference / Workshop: Successfully organized one day Conference on “Socio-
Nutritional Importance Egg” on 30th September 2015 at CPDO Campus, in
which various eminent poultry experts & Professors delivered their expertise to
benefit the farmers.
World Egg Day Celebration: World Egg Day was celebrated in collaboration
with NECC, Chandigarh & Department of Animal Husbandry, Uttar Pradesh
along with School Children in Grand manner at Lucknow on 9th October, 2015, in
which Egg Rally was conducted & boiled eggs were distributed to create
awareness about Nutritional Value of eggs among school children & public.
Mitigation and adaptation on Climate Change & Social Responsibility:
Hatchery waste is converted into organic compost by installation of Compost
Machine, it efforts to reduce dumping and directly reduces greenhouse gas
emissions, prevents the groundwater contamination, pathogen and phytotoxic
release in the environment.
Extension Activities: Participated in India “International Trade Fair (IITF)-
2015” at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi & “Krishi Unnati-2016” at ICAR-IARI
Campus, Pusa, New Delhi.
Automation of Poultry Sheds: Automation of poultry sheds project is
successfully implemented in two (2) poultry breeding sheds in which nipple
drinking system & feeding system is installed.
Quality Testing of Livestock Feed: Maintenance of consistency in increasing
the services to public & private sector of feed industry by quality testing of
increased numbers of feed ingredients samples.

PREFACE
The Central Poultry Development Organization (CPDO) formerly Central Breeding Farm
(CPBF), Govt. of India, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Dept. of AHD&F is
established with a vision of productivity enhancement, entrepreneurship development, skill
development and employment generation under National Livestock Mission (NLM) for a
sustainable rural poultry development in India.
CPDO is one of the knowledge centres for rural poultry development in India and serve as a
single window to meet all the technical requirements of the poultry farmers in the northern
region of India.
This organization envisaged with a mandate of production and supply of rural chicken,
Japanese quail and Guinea Fowl varieties of both egg and meat type across the country
and transfer of technologies and farm practices through extension and conducting skill
development & Training programmes to the farmers.
GENESIS
This farm was initially established by Govt. of Punjab in 1963 for the development of
poultry in Punjab state and subsequently this poultry project was operated by Union
Territory, Chandigarh since 1.11.1966 after re-organization of Punjab state. Further, this
farm was renamed as Central Poultry Breeding Farm (CPBF) after taken over by Govt. of
India, Ministry of Agriculture on 1.4.1978 and subsequently Regional Feed Analytical
Laboratory (RFAL) was established in this campus during 1982. Keeping in view the
importance and magnitude of work involved, CPBF & RFAL were merged under restructure
plan and named as Central Poultry Development Organization (CPDO) on June 2003.
OBJECTIVES
1. Maintain Low Input Technology (LIT) germplasms and make available to state poultry
organizations and farmers for sustainable rural poultry development.
2. Imparting the Skill development cum poultry entrepreneurship development Training
Programmes for women and farmers in Northern states (Punjab, Haryana, Himachal
Pardesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar & Rajasthan).
3. Analysis of feed samples for various parameters including mycotoxins.
4. Under diversification programme, Quail & Guinea Fowl Production and multiplication.
