ACTIVITY REPORT
ON
One Day Workshop on “Application Development and Deployment of Cloud” under
IEEE Student Chapter
On 30th July, 2017 (09:00 am – 05:00pm), Department of Computer Engineering conducted a Workshop
on” Application Development and Deployment of Cloud” by “Mr. Ashutosh Kumar”. In the first half
of the session consists of the basics of cloud. Topics included were what Cloud is, its key characteristics,
basic components of cloud, cloud architecture, frameworks supported by cloud and services provided
by it.
In the other half Basic fundamentals of IBM Bluemix was given and its practical demonstration was
carried out. At First the introduction of IBM Bluemix was given, various points were noted like:
Bluemix™ is the latest cloud offering from IBM®. It enables organizations and developers to quickly
and easily create, deploy, and manage applications on the cloud. It is an implementation of IBM's Open
Cloud Architecture based on Cloud Foundry, an open source Platform as a Service (PaaS). It delivers
enterprise-level services that can easily integrate with your cloud applications without you needing to
know how to install or configure them.
After the theoretical aspects of IBM Bluemix were discussed the Practical session was started and
everyone actively participated accordingly.
