Annual Report (2016-17)

The Technical Association of Information Technology (TAIT) is a

Technical Association of the Department of Information Technology and has

around 360 Student as members of IT.

Since TAIT’s inception in 2006 various Co-curricular & Extra-curricular

Events have been organized to develop skills in the students and mould them

into perfect professionals. These events have benefited the students a great

deal.

During the academic year 2016-17, events such as Debate, Technical

Quiz, Paper & Poster Presentations, Treasure Hunt, Code Hunting etc were

conducted. Among these events, “Mock Interviews” and “Group

Discussions” received a great response.

The “Animation Club” with an objective to enhance the Animation Skills

of the students with different Animation Tools was conducted. Add-on courses

on Powtoon and Adobe Flash Tools were also provided under the aegis of TAIT.

With the collective effort of the Head of the Department, TAIT Faculty

Advisors, faculty members, Non-Teaching staff and student Techno Team, TAIT

have been conducted the following events:

Mr. P. Bhasha, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology,

Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College, demonstrated the basic parts of Computer

and their functionalities, importance of Digital Literacy and its Applications.

Mr. Shaik Munwar, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology,

demonstrated fundamentals of Network, the usage of Internet- E-Mail creation,

different Web Browsers, Google search using keywords and information about

educational resources.

Under TAIT we organized An Outreach Programme on “Digital Literacy” at

Z. P. High School, Narasingapuram Village on 25-07-2016 & 29-07-2016.

Ms. V. Jyothsna, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology,

Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College, demonstrated Document Creation, Power

Point Presentation, Microsoft Excel with options and variety of case studies on

these topics through Microsoft Office.
